Raphael's frown deepened, No it didn't fail it's just incomplete! The designs of the interface should be perfect! What does this mean?
Raphael thought, it's not like he can be baptized again, it's a one shot thing.
Hearing his words everyone looked at Asher with pity, 95% of saints were baptized, and their strength was the norm, being unbaptized means your essentially weaker.
'Must be the systems fault! My strength didn't increase in the slightest! Does that mean I actually failed?' Asher thought but ultimately shook his head. Speculating was fun but often you could get wrong answers, finding out as you go gave the most accurate answer.
'It must take longer to seep into his body, human body are a bit resistance' Raphael thought recalling an incident.
He glanced towards the disciples, 'But if it fails, will that little girl still go with him? She's very stubborn. We'll Let's test his luck first.'
After thinking for a bit he said, "This year, you guys will be going to saints academy and attending there."
The youths were shocked, but none of them complained. Raised and trained by the church, it was like home, and Raphael and the other archangels were like parents to them.
"I trust that won't be a problem." Raphael turned towards the teachers.
"Not at all." Chase responded with a smile.
Of cause they didn't have a problem. Being humanity's savior and sole provider of the baptisms, the church had subtle authority, but they rarely used it.
Enrolling a group of youth wasn't an issue, let alone capable ones.
" To celebrate, I'll allow everyone to pick an Omaga fruit." Raphael glanced at Asher and smiled.
!!!
Hearing his words, the church people and holy disciples gasped. From their expressions, the others discerned that whatever he was talking about, must be valuable.
Chase seemed to know and also had a look of envy.
"Now, the next group, step forward."
"Sir, Raphael, everyone else is done." A church old man stated.
"Oh." Raphael looked and it was indeed the case. He'd been lost in his thoughts again for quite some time.
'I zoned out again! Wait does that mean he was submerged for that long before I pulled him out! Then why...'
"Sir Raphael, it's happening again." One of the holy desciples warned.
"Ohh Yeah, let's go."
A large white circle suddenly appeared under Raphael's feet, quickly growing, it reached everyone. Soon after, the circle started floating, lifting everyone and flying towards a direction.
A moments later, the scene changed and everyone returned outside, before the large tree. Not landing on the ground, the circle flew up into the sky. Moments later, they reached the clouds.
All they could see was white, the cold wind felt extremely sharp at that, goosebumps appeared all over their bodies. It took a while for their visions to clear.
The sky was dark, filled with stars that twinkled and light up everything.
The tope of the tree was massive, upon closer inspection, everyone realized that, the night sky was actually caused by the leaves of the tree, and the stars were caused by small round objects.
"Each of you will be given 10 minutes to pick an Omega fruit, whatever you get will be yours to keep, bear in mind luck plays a vital role." Raphael stated.
"Sir, what type of fruit is that." someone from saints academy asked what the reader were thinking.
Raphael seemed to think for a bit, "An Omega fruit, is a treasure that grants you any random thing you can imagine. You can get something as valuable as a saint grade weapon or something as useless as dirt."
He continued, "Granted, it's not only limited to physical things. I recall this incident were one weak person, instantly jumped to saints rank."
Raphael looked towards chase, "If I recall correctly, you received a set of female garments, that your friend was wearing at the time."
Hearing his words Chase and Akari both nodded with flushed faces, especially Akari who was almost blood red.
"Really it's like a random wish!"
"Wait, why would they share this, instead of keeping it for themselves."
"Things must not be that simple."
"Ayo, Chase fumbled a wish on some draws! That's a sad case! Hopefully they were stained!"
"...!!!"
The kids began whispering amongst themselves, a hint of anticipation, nervousness and excitement visible on their faces.
"Sadly, the more a person uses it, the less useful it becomes. For me they are worthless." Raphael explained. "let's not wast time, your ten minutes starts now."
As soon as his words fell, the holy disciples stretched out their new wings and flew up, but they were meet with disappointment, as their bodies landed on the clouds.
"Without sufficient strength you can't fly here." Raphael explained.
Seeing the disciples walking on the clouds, the others climbed off the platform, took a few steps, before confidently running forward. They only had ten minutes and only fools would waste such an opportunity.
The trees surface wasn't smooth and there were ridges, nooks and crannies, they scrambled, climbing and pushing. Luckily the trees surface was very wide.
"Aren't you gonna go as well?" Raphael looked at Asher, who was the only one left.
"Do you perhaps have some rope?" Asher straightened his thoughts and asked.
"Sure I do." Raphael reached out his hand, and a white rope had already appeared in his hand. 'Why rope?'
"Thank you." Asher tide the rope on his back, before dashing forward at full speed.
Looking at everything, he changed his route a bit, before jumping.
*Bam*
Asher's feet landed on someone's shoulder, but then took of immidiatly after.
*Bam* *Bam*
He jumped on the next person, then the next, then the next.
"Hay, you bastard."
"Who's this idiot."
"Screw you!"
"Ayo! Why didn't I think of that?"
Students complained, dissatisfied at the whole notion, but there was nothing they could do. Asher undoubtedly stepped on some people's face and caused a few other to fall down.
"Hahaha! How amusing, using others as a stepping stone! Literally! " Raphael exploded with laughter.
Something about seeing the scene was humourous, even chase and Akari chuckled.
"Hay!"
"You lowly human dare!"
"Pervert!"
Asher finally reached the angels who had been in the lead. Grabbing some of their wings. He grabbed what needed to be grabbed, woman man, soft bodies or hard, he climbed and stepping on them, before finally reaching the first person in the lead, Javan, a familiar face.
Jerameel's face looked rightfully demonic, with a shoe print on your face, who wouldn't. 'He has to die!'
*Bam*
Asher landed on the tree's surface, getting a proper grip. As soon as he touched the tree's surface, he felt his body growing weaker. He felt extremely comfortable and needed a nap, despite the uncomfortable weather.
'Not simple huh!' Asher didn't dwell on the matter and quickly climbed up.
Luckily it wasn't that far, a moment later her pulled himself up. His climb taking no more then 30 seconds.
He tied the rope to the bench and dropped it down, before looking around.
'Oh, he's indeed quite interesting.' Raphael's eye's stayed on Asher's figure.
The breach were everywhere, intertwining like wired headsets. Most of them were as thick as a person, so walking wasn't an issue.
On the branches, besides the large dark leaves, Asher saw human shaped objects, the size of a cat.
Upon closer inspection, he realized they were human shaped, depending on the figure, they were between male and female.
They were starlight white, glossy, with a cold texture, similar to cold glass.
Asher touched one and it instantly turned firefly red, and was enveloped by flames. Luckily they didn't burn him, but try as he might to pull it, the fruit didn't come off.
"The fruits have consciousness and won't allow just anyone to pick them, if they don't like you they'll resist, and you'll have better luck uprooting the entire tree before forcefully taking one out." Suddenly, a sweet voice dripped into Asher's ear, landing into his heart.
He turned and saw Erelah, the female angel who offered herself to the strongest person.
Seeing her up close, Asher's heart skipped a few beats.
'She's indeed beautiful. Is this a Femme fetal.' Asher involentarly gulped down. He got an overwhelming urge to hold her in his arms, a strong urge to possess. This was the first time a woman had made him feel like this.
From up close, her skin was so clear that it almost become transperate, with a small nose and a pretty face.
Although unfamiliar with the emotion, Asher was experience in handling crazy emotions, he quickly suppressed it.
She continued, "More often then not, the fruit your looking for will call out to you."
"Hhm, Thank you." Asher nodded.
"Anytime!" Erelah responded, to top it of, she smiled. (To borrow a chines saying) Her smile could overthrow a city, and another a nation.
Asher looked around, but he didn't see any fruits calling to him.
A minute passed and everyone was already searching, some had already found theirs and were making their way down.
Six minutes later, Asher still hadn't found his, he'd tried taking a few but all of them rejected him.
One of them turned into complete ice, while another turned into mist and disappeared, only reappearing after he'd left. One fruit surprised him and actually teleported him back to where he started, luckily it didn't send him down.
Deciding to climb the tree and looking higher, Asher's attention was suddenly attracted by a flickering light.
With his sights set on it, he hurriedly climbed higher and higher, afraid of running out of time.
The fruit was a short female. Reaching it, the flickering light had become faster.
He grabbed it but it started to shake and glowing a red light, Asher knew he was rejected.
"Seems I'm not the only one facing rejection, allow me to try." Suddenly, four-eye's voice came from behind Asher. He had a descruntle look.
When his hands got closer, the fruit fell on it's own, landing in his hands.
"Finally! My hypothesis maybe right, luck may not me a factor." Four-eyes mumbled to himself. He glanced at Asher, "Anyway best of luck to you, I'll head back."
"Yeah."
Asher watched four-eyes depart and decided to change his approach.
This place is to huge to be searching one by one.
He quickly came to the main branch, the center of the tree, and looked around, after a bit he climbed up. Along the way, he looked around.
Time slowly passed...
"That should be the last one." Chase stated while enviously looking at the students hugging their fruits.
"No, the is still one more." Raphael said looking intently at the sky, as if peering through the darkness. 'Could he actually have bad luck.'
"Times almost up!" A calm voice shook the leaves.
Hearing Raphael's voice, Asher picked up the pace, climbing higher and looking around, but he saw nothing.
*sigh*
Asher stopped and sat down, 'This opportunity was never a factor I consider, so gaining it was nothing more then a bonus, if I don't get it, it doesn't change anything.'
He leaned on the tree, comforting himself, just as he looked up into the sky, he saw a bright flickering night. Instinctively, he heart beat synchronized with it, his eyes firmly fixated on it despite the surrounding light.
That's it! Almost immidiatly Asher jumped up and rushed towards it.
"I'm sorry, times is up." Raphael shook his head and waved his hand.
Instantly, Asher's body appeared on the ground. His expression quite ugly.
Asher was shocked, he looked down and luckily there was something in his hands.
At the last second, the fruit fell into his hands.
"You actually got something, good." Rapheal exclaimed and nodded.
"Now, all you need to do is eat the fruit and you should come across the seed, if not, blame your luck. Don't worry as the fruit on its own is still nutritious for you body. You guys start." Raphael explained and looked towards the holy disciples.
Jerahmeel responded first, the large fruit disappeared slowly under his mouth, halfway through, he stopped. His empty cheecks enlargened before he started vomiting.
"Ayo, that's nasty, there's still some chunks and shit." All the kids covered their noses in defense.
The vomite took the shape of a square, and flickered with a soft light before finally stopping. Everyone strained their necks to look.
The vomite slowly fell to the ground and merged with the clouds, Jerahmeel reacted and cleaned the rest away. What was left was a brown, treasure chest looking chest, with intricate gold designs.
Suprised, Jerahmeel searched around the remaining vomit and found a small, key. Cleaning it, he opened the chest.
Inside were two items. A small red box, with a silver mirror.
"A deck of summoning cards and a silver mirror huh. Keep those things with you at all times, they'll save your life one day." Rapheal explained, looking towards the next person.
Javan didn't waste time, opening his large mouth, within a moment, he ate the entire fruit, with only 3 bites.
Just as he swallowed, he vomited. There was a lot of vomite.
After waiting for it to stop flickering, he cleared the mess and a pair of white gauntlet appeared, there were a few dents and tinks here and there. Also there was a stone key in the gauntlets hands.
"I remember those, they were given to a female human, last I heard she parished in Battle." Rapheal stated before turning to the next person.
The rest followed suite, each gaining something valuable, one unlucky person didn't gain anything, which broke her heart.
Finally it was the human's turn, most of them gained garbage to say the least. Ranging from an ordinary toothpick to a lightning imbued sword. With no middle ground.
Four-eyes received 5 ice-cubes, to which Rapheal said he must keep them with him at all time.
To Atlas's dismay, he got an old painting of a little girl with blond hair. There was nothing special about the painting whatsoever.
Finally it was Asher's turn...
Looking at the fruit, oddly enough, it was shaped like two people halfway merged together, similar to conjoined twins. Strangely, despite no resemblance, Asher saw himself in the fruits. Clearing his head, he started eating it.
Despite the glassy feel and texture, the fruit easily succumbed to his teeth, feeling like a ripe peach. Unlike a peach, when the juices flowed, they tasted horribly.
Asher understood why others quickly finished theirs. He also quickly downed his.
A second passed and nothing...
Just as he wore a horrible expression, he felt something coming back, he vomited, which wasn't that much.
Rummaging through the vomite, he pulled out a small ring.
The ring seemed to be made of bones, with a corresponding asthetic. A skull stood on top, holding a black gemstone.
"A storage ring huh! You luck isn't bad" Raphael nodded, yet he seemed unimpressed by any of these things. 'okay his luck isn't that great and he isn't favored by fate, I guess his life is already set in stone.'
