Chapter 32 - chapter 32 under the twilight sky

Selena POV

Finally, the exams are over, I think while staring at the bright sun.

"Where is she?". I think while holding my forehead, the unfriendly stares from the students were getting on my nerves, and Ashley was nowhere to be seen.

Ignoring the glares, I stood my ground.

"You can't show yourself meek in front of them, or they will eat you alive and not even the bones will be left.".

I murmur in my heart, a bit exaggerated maybe, but it's the truth.

The murderous stares from girls and lustful eyes from boys seemed to be imagining all kinds of things in their heads.

I barely held a grimace from showing on my face.

Thankfully, not many students are around, as they are going home.

Suddenly, my heart palpitates, and my senses urge me to look at my right.

There I see a man, wearing an unremarkable dark hoodie and jeans, but his aura seemed detached from this world; the entire world seemed to be surrendering at his feet.

The crowd seemed to be subconsciously giving way to him, and his aura seemed to be beckoning me.

My heart started beating loudly, as if to jump out of my throat.

Taking a deep breath, I stabilized myself and stared back at him, trying to pierce through the abyssal darkness covering his face.

And, as if I always could, I saw his face. That otherworldly face overlapped with the one from my visions.

My heart leapt in joy, as if a piece of me came back after a long time. My entire being longed to become one with him.

But then, all of a sudden, a ghastly expression marred his face, his breathtaking face distorted into something terrible.

In an instant, the surrounding students fell limp, one by one, like puppets whose threads were cut off. All their expressions were of great horror, and before I could think further, all their faces became blank.

By intuition, I knew he did it. I looked ahead, a ghastly expression still on his face, which was getting further twisted.

So before he could do anything else, I advanced forward and strongly held his arm.

Thank God he stopped, I thought with relief.

Slowly, his expression turns dazed, which, for some reason, drives me crazy in concern. Thankfully, he snaps out of it and slowly raises his hand to touch my cheek.

With his touch, my entire body shivers as if dipped in ice-cold water, but instead of being uncomfortable, I feel good. I feel all my pores breathe, as if my entire being were rejoicing.

Snapping out of my daze, I look around, where dozens of students are lying limp. I look at my beloved's face, who was still wearing a dazed look, as if processing a huge load of information.

I quickly drag him inside the building. There was some resistance at the beginning, and he felt literally immovable, but soon, as if understanding me, he became as light as a feather. This seemed weird, but there were more pressing issues currently.

"Thud"

Hastily, I closed the door behind me; now it was just me and him in this empty classroom.

Slowly, his dazed eyes became clear; his alluring crimson eyes held a fatal attraction, as if beckoning me to sink in them. One look at them, and I was having difficulty extricating myself.

His face was perfect; each contour was just like in my visions. Though his face was always blurred, I could still almost visualize his face, as if his face were deeply burned in my soul.

I stared dumbly at his perfect face while caressing his jawline. My other hand held on to his strongly, as if afraid that he would disappear forever.

While I was admiring this immaculate piece of art up close, I heard a soft cough, and I reluctantly tore my gaze from his face to look at those alluring crimson eyes, and I fell into a daze again.

"Can you let go?". A melodious voice that seemed to contain all the sweetness asked me.

Though reluctant, I released his face but continued to hold his hand, fearing that all of this was just a vision. My grip on his hand tightened, as if I were very afraid to lose him.

A wry smile graced his enchanting face. He lowered his head to look where our hands were held together and looked back at me, silently gesturing for me to release his hand.

Defiance flashed in my eyes. Adamant at not releasing his hand, I stared at his seductive crimson eyes, conveying my resolve.

The smile on his face widened even more, as if accepting his defeat. He stopped and just stared into my eyes.

His eyes held a piercing yet gentle look. He slowly raised his hand to caress my crimson hair, untangling the curls. Not to be outdone, I too started caressing his brown hair, gently brushing it with my hand.

No words were spoken between us, as if we were immemorially bonded together; just our eyes were enough to convey our intentions.

Within the dimly lit classroom, we continued caressing each other's faces, and as more time passed, my admiration for his unblemished face increased.

How can anyone be so perfect?

I questioned myself.

No stray eyebrows, no open pores, and no lines.

It was so perfect that it seemed unsettling.

I was aware of his gaze on my face, sometimes on my eyes and then on my nose, which finally settled on my lips, as if my lips held an irresistible allure to him. He focused all his attention on my lips.

The undisguised staring soon had me blushing.

"I can't show myself meek." I murmured in my head, suppressing the blood rushing to my face. I thought hard to gain an upper ground in our confrontation.

Thinking of catching him in the act, I suddenly raised my head and stared at his eyes. My eyes held a triumphant look, as if very proud.

As if understanding my intention, he gave a soft smile before a mischievous glint flashed in his eyes, which, for some reason, unsettled me.

"Woosh"

Suddenly we were no longer in the dark classroom; an open sky stood above our heads; the sun had already set; and it was almost the time of twilight. In a blink, several hours passed by without me noticing.

A silent gasp escaped my mouth. My mind struggled to comprehend the current situation; I just gaped at the breathtaking face up close.

The wind gently caressed my face, slowly bringing me to my senses.

I opened my mouth to ask, but no words came out. So I just stared at him, waiting for an answer.

"Selena, would you come with me?" He spoke in his honeyed, melodious voice, which seemed to hold the power of persuading anyone.

Like a puppet, almost mechanically, I nodded my head. Gone was the thought of my mother and best friend, who would probably be panicking at my absence by now; my entire being just longed to become one with the man in front of me.

With a smile, he turned around and crouched slightly, taking the cue as I climbed on his back. His soft hair tickled my skin, and the obsession in me grew with each whiff of his scent I inhaled.

My hands became restless and my body burned with fervor. Annoyed at the articles of clothing blocking our bare contact, I tugged at his dark hoodie, trying to get it off.

Chuckle!

A soft chuckle pierced through the silent evening, breaking me out of my reverie. Realizing what I was doing, my face took on a deep shade of red, and in embarrassment, I buried my face in the nook of his neck.

But my body was still very honest, so I continued inhaling his scent discreetly, hoping he wouldn't find out.

He turned his head around, and as our lips brushed together, my entire body shivered, as if longing for this from the beginning of time. I leaned forward in a bid to feel more of his soft lips.

But with a mischievous glint, he pulled away, leaving me frustrated and longing for more.

"Ugh". A frustrated groan escaped my mouth, and in anger, I bit down hard on his hoodie.

All throughout this, he stared at me in amusement; the gentle smile never left his face, and the twinkle of obsession in his seductive eyes deepened.

"Are you ready?" He asked, his tone clearly showing the boundless love he had for me.

"Umm," a barely audible hum with a nod, was my answer.

"Woosh"

Under the dark sky, we disappeared from the roof, as if we were never there.
