(POV Alexander).
"My king, your highness," Thomas called. I turned to see where the voice was calling from while Thomas walked towards where I was.
"What is it again? I raised an eyebrow, looking at him."My king, some intruders came to attack our soldiers at the eastern border." Thomas explained as he bowed his head.
Thomas is a vampire, but not pure-blooded. He has been with me since my childhood, and he has been a good friend even before I became the king. He is one of my most trusted men.
"So, have you informed the chief army about the attack?"
"Yes, my King," Thomas responded."I want you to do something for me, Thomas." I stated this while looking at Thomas.
"Yes, my King, anything for you." He muttered.
"I want you to find out about that girl that was here with me before you came in." I instructed, turning to where the corpse of the other lady I drank her blood was, and I pointed, "Clear that mess." I ordered as I walked out of the palace to my room.
(NEXT DAY AT THE MILLER'S HOUSE)
The door is being banged, but I was too tired to respond before my mother stormed into the room. "When are you two going to stand up? It's morning already." She yelled at Lyla, and I was still sleeping on the bed while she put her hand on her waist.
Yesterday was very stressful, and we are still on the bed due to the stress we went through at the party.
"I'm heading to the shop; you two should do the housework before coming to meet me," she stated before leaving our room.
(SLOVENIA PALACE)
POV Leander
I was sitting on my throne when Thomas walked in. "Greetings Milord". Thomas greets him as he bows.
"I've gotten the information and everything about the girl, my king." Thomas announced this as he stood before me.
"Go ahead," I instructed as I sipped wine from the golden cup in my hand.
"Her name is Moira Miller; she's a human, and she lives in western Slovenia with her parents and her sister named Lyla. She's nineteen years old." I stare at Thomas as I also listen to him.
"Her mother is a seamstress, while her father is a farmer.
"Oh, so does she have any romantic affairs with anyone?"
"No, your highness."
"Huh." A smirk appears on my face. I stood up from my throne. Immediately, Thomas bared his head at me as a sign of respect.
"Send a letter to her family; I want to have an important discussion with them tomorrow." I ordered before leaving.
I don't really know what's going on with me.
Since I set my eyes on that girl the day I saw her roaming aimlessly in the palace, I've not been myself. I've been thinking about her; I can't even get her off my head as much as I try. Her beautiful face, smooth, flawless skin, round ass, and full breasts are the only things in my head. And there's also something I can't explain that is drawing me to that girl.
To my greatest surprise, this is the first time I'm feeling this way toward a woman, a mere human. I never fancy women and am not really attracted to them.
(MILLER'S HOUSE)
POV Moira
A knock interrupted the peaceful dinner we were having. All eyes were on the door when, in an instant, we heard the knock.
"Who could that be this night?" My father asked as he was still staring at the door. He turns his head to the right towards Lyla.
"Lyla, check who's at the door." Lyla stood up to check who the person was. She walks to the door.
"Who's at the door?" she questioned loudly.
"It's the post office man." She opened the door and collected a letter from the man before closing the door.
"What letter is that?" Mother asked as she eyed the letter in Lyla's hand.
"It's from the palace," Lyla responds as she walks to the dining table and hands over the letter to Father before sitting down on her seat and continuing to eat.
When I heard the letter come from the palace, the scene of what happened at the palace yesterday appeared in my head, and my heart skipped.
"Darling, What's the content of the letter?" The mother asked with a curious look on her face.
The father opened the letter and read it for a while. He pauses suddenly, and he raises his head to stare at my mom wide-eyed.
"The king wants to see us in the palace tomorrow," the father announced.
"That is not even possible; how can the king call for our attention?" Mother asked before collecting the letter from him. She read the letter and was shocked, too.
I looked at Lyla in confusion, as this is the first time we are getting a letter from the palace. There are over millions of people in the Slovenian kingdom, so how can the king invite a mere human to the palace?
"Mother, this might be a fake letter, because I'm finding it hard to believe," I commented, staring at my mother.
"I'm also thinking so. It's a fake letter; the letter does not have the royal stamp." Mother said.
After dinner, Lyla and I cleared the table, and we all went to bed.
****
It's been two days now since we received the letter from the post officer concerning the invitation to the palace. Though we were not sure if the letter was from the palace, we didn't bother to go to the palace.
I keep having nightmares about the vampire I saw at the party. Either he is trying to kill me or he is trying to suck blood from me. We humans don't like associating with vampires, knowing how dangerous they are.
I opened my eyes from sleep in fright, panting heavily, and looked around the house in fear. A bead of sweat could be seen all over my face; beside me was Lyla, still sleeping. I rise up from the bed to get a glass of water before returning to the bed.
I lay on the bed, my eyes fixed on the ceiling, unable to sleep because of the nightmare.
I woke Lyla so we could do the housework together before my mother and father woke. I wash the dishes while she cooks.
We went to freshen up immediately, and we were done with everything we were doing before breakfast.
I came out of the bathroom with a towel around me. Lyla was dressed up and ready to go out.
"I don't think I will follow my father to the farm today." I said I was walking to the wardrobe to get my clothes.
"And why is that so?" Well, you don't have to tell me that; inform Father yourself." She restored before exiting the room. I put on my clothes and tied my hair into a ponytail before walking out of the room.
Getting to the dinner, father and mother are already seated and eating. I walked towards them before taking a seat beside Lyla.
I walked to the living room after washing the dish we used to eat for breakfast.
"I'm already heading to the shop," mother said as she came out of the room, holding a bag in her arm. Walking up to the door, she was about to open it when we heard a knock. Mother opened the door and was shocked. She suddenly bowed her head, and immediately her eyes landed on the
person. Who could that be? I thought inwardly.
