Chapter 15 - Romantic Moments

9:12 PM

It was 9:12 PM.

The sun had set and the sky was dark.

The moon had not yet risen, and the stars were still twinkling in the night sky.

The streets were illuminated by the streetlights and the buildings were lit by their windows.

It was a peaceful and quiet night, and the city was calm.

However, in one specific room of a particular apartment building, the atmosphere was tense and heavy.

In that room, a young man with short brown hair was sitting on the wooden floor, with his legs crossed, and his hands resting on his knees.

"Ha," A weary sigh escaped his lips, and his shoulders drooped.

The young man was none other than, Nell.

He was sitting in his room, and his back was leaning against his bed.

He had his eyes closed, and his head was tilted downwards as if he was deep in thought.

A few moments passed, and his eyes slowly opened.

Then, he turned his head and glanced over the bed, his gaze landing on the young girl who was lying there, sleeping.

'Ember...'

Her name was Ember, and she was Nell's wife.

It had been a couple of hours since the Breakout ended and they got married.

After the monsters had been eliminated, the shield surrounding the restaurant had dissipated, and the civilians who were inside the barrier had been saved.

They were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries.

And, after they were discharged, they were allowed to go back home, but, as for Nell, he was asked to stay at the scene for a while, for interrogation.

Naturally, the authorities wanted to know how Nell, who had only awakened his power a week ago, was able to defeat the boss.

'I'm lucky, they didn't suspect anything,'

The Authority and the Guilds didn't ask him any questions regarding the Dark King Zombie's death, and they simply assumed that he had luckily defeated the monster.

They didn't even bother to ask him anything other than the basic question and simply let him go, after giving him a pat on the shoulder.

After all, he was a C-Class Hero, one of the weakest classes in the world.

So, it must be an extremely lucky day for him, for him to have such an opportunity.

And, as for Ember, she just kept waiting for him at the side.

She had already told Nellas about the screen that had popped up in front of her, and, after hearing her words, Nell immediately asked her to say, "Status Screen," to the system.

Surprisingly, the system actually responded to her and a blue holographic screen materialized, displaying her Status Window.

However, this time the screen wasn't only visible to Ember, but, it was also visible to Nell, as well.

'Ember, my wife, is really something else,' Nell thought as he got up from the floor, and sat on the bed, beside the sleeping Ember.

'Who knew she, a blind girl, had a hidden bloodline?'

'It's an extremely rare thing,'

His wife, Ember, had a powerful and hidden bloodline that wasn't known to the entire human civilization.

In fact, having a bloodline was a first, and the fact that she had an SSS-CLASS Supremacy Monster Bloodline was beyond his expectations.

'Well, I guess, I shouldn't be surprised,'

He had already seen and met with things that shouldn't be possible, so, the fact that his wife had a hidden bloodline shouldn't shock him.

'But, still,'

There was a part of him that couldn't believe it, and that was the fact that the girl sleeping in front of him, the girl who was just a normal and innocent girl, had a powerful bloodline.

It was almost unbelievable, and it was something he couldn't comprehend.

She was special, and she was unique.

Her abilities were extraordinary, and they were something that could only be described as 'monster-like'.

And, this fact only further strengthened Nell's resolve to protect her, and his desire to become stronger.

'I have to get stronger,'

He would never let anyone hurt her, and he would never allow anything to harm her.

'I will make sure she is safe,'

He was going to keep her safe and protected, and he was going to make sure that she never suffers.

'I will not fail,'

After all, she was the only family he had, and she was now the most important person to him.

"Hnn..." Ember, who was lying beside him, let out a soft groan, and she changed her position, her body moving closer to his.

'She looks so peaceful when she's asleep,'

A small smile appeared on his face as he watched her sleep, and he gently stroked her hair.

"Sleep tight," He whispered, and leaned down, placing a kiss on her forehead.

'Now, we're married,'

'We are together, forever.'

He was happy, and he was content.

He had finally found someone who loved him, and who was willing to spend their life with him.

He was glad, and he was thankful.

'I will never let you go,'

'You are mine,'

He was hers, and she was his.

'Mine,'

His smile widened, and a sense of happiness and contentment filled his heart.

The night was still young, and the world was full of possibilities.

Nell's hand moved and it grabbed Ember's soft and delicate hand.

His fingers intertwined with hers, and a soft smile appeared on his face.

His heart was beating faster in his chest and his breath quickened.

The feelings of love and affection for her were growing inside him, and he couldn't help but lean in, getting on Ember's body, and slowly moving his lips near hers.

Only a few millimeters separated them and his heart was beating so hard that he was afraid it might jump out of his chest.

He was gonna kiss her on the lips but, the system's notification popped up, interrupting his moment.

Ding!

[Host, please refrain from doing such things. The Host's wife is not ready for it.

Host should wait a bit longer and take things slow, as the Host's wife is still young and is new to all of these.]

'Ugh, damn system,'

'Were you spying on us?'

The system's message had a strange effect on Nell and his desire to kiss her immediately vanished.

"Haaa," A weary sigh escaped his lips.

'The System's right,'

'It's not the right time,'

'Ember is still new to all of this,'

He couldn't do it, he didn't want to do it.

'She is young and innocent,'

'I don't want to force her into anything,'

He wanted her to have the freedom to choose, and he wanted her to have the choice.

'I'll wait,'
