Today was the day, standing in front of the estate I was ready to finally leave. I didn't know it but the thought of freedom was actually more enticing than I had thought.
I had already done all my preparation and that was a lot actually. After my fight with Michael I come to realise that the sword in my head was very much useless, I had decided on what I wanted after that.
After that I had stayed in my forge for almost two days working on my new sword, the blade contained the largest amount of iron ore I had ever forged in one blade.
It was a very large sword, as wide as a 30cm or 12 inches and almost 140cm or 55 inches long, it was thick, and in the middle of all that metal was the other fang. It had a dark grey middle part before going back to silver at the edge
Basically this great sword was an abomination born from my imagination. A combination of the great sword Guts used and the one used by Mormon/ Ainz.
It had the top part of the Dragon slayer but the tip was rounded off, it had a slight curve inward near the tip.
Was it practical probably not, did look good definitely. The sword was mad with one purpose, to defend. With those thoughts in mind a I couldn't help but think of a great name for it.
.....
[Godly Sharpness 4]
[Unbreaking 4]
[Curse of the Creator 10]
...
Name: Barrier
...
I had only thought it was suitable name and after checking it's enchants I had found that the name had been engraved alongside the enchants.
Barrier here was my shield, I tried making a shield once, sadly that didn't go so well, none of my enchants went through, after that I had tried making other weapons.
After extensive testing I was sad to find out that if it wasn't a sword type the my enchants were as weak as the first level I got them.
One funny thing that happened was when I had tried to forge a hammer it had gotten the enchant [Lesser sharpness -4] I didn't whether to laugh or cry.
After my goodbyes I boarded the carriage ready to leave. I would be dropped off near the southern forest. The largest forest in the whole kingdom and even some parts of Kevustus, our north-west neighbours.
I chose to start there because it was in a way the starting point of the forest, would then move upwards to the north before entering Kevustus. I also planned a quick search of the cold mountain peaks, I hoped to find something with a little more element to it.
I was inspecting each one of my swords scabbard as we got closer to our destination, I had asked for two extra pockets on Barrier's Scabbard. Two of my smaller swords could perfectly fit on it.
My other two great swords where supposed to be position horizontally down on my waist.
Due to the weird amount of weapons I had to carry I wore a pale brown leather vest and a long wind breaker.
I didn't carry a lot of things with me. The only thing in hand being a sleeping bag, a few camping necessities, a pouch of gold and a mana stone with a communication enchant, I planned to be gone for a while at least five years.
Soon we arrived at the edge of the forest, the trees looked as large as the ones near my first hut, it was a good reminder of where I had come from.
And like that my adventure began.
I was already good at tracking animals thanks to my previous profession.
Walking around the forest surrounded by tall trees and lively birds was absolutely refreshing from the monotonous life I had been living for the past few years. Anyone would be tired of being cooped up for so long.
After hours of walking I find myself standing on the edge of a stream, occasionally blocks of ice would float along. Looking in the distance in the direction the water was flowing from I new my first destination.
Pulling out Barrier I placed it on the ground before standing on it...
'yeah, not going to happen.'
With hesitation I ended up chicken out, the idea of standing on the sword was tempting but god! my fear of heights was just something else. At the end I sat my ass down before floating away towards the distant mountain range.
In less than an hour I was at the base of the mountain looking up. I wanted to check the area around the mountain, just to make sure i didn't miss anything.
Over the next few days I track every paw, claw and strange prints but sadly they mostly end up being normal animals or if they are mutated they have nothing to pocket.
Like this days go by. Over this time I live off the land eating any animal I ran into, and during the night I would travel back to the mountain before curving into it with my sword and making a small cave.
Like this I hunt every wolf, bare and some strange large lizards. Honestly I didn't know if that last one was a mutant or just a normal animal that had existed even before the whole mana thing.
....
A month later on the shore of a large lake I was talking a bath, this had become my favourite spot for simply taking a break, mostly for the delicious sermon that seemed to nest here.
While I was bathing I felt a pulse of mana, confused at this occurrence. That's because from my knowledge mana tended to erupt rather than pulse?
Grabbed by curiosity I decide to check out this weird mana. Not long after I was standing deep in forest. Before me was a large a man hole going downwards.
This better not be goblins.
