Rose POV
-You're moving in today
He said excited as i looked into his eyes trying to process what he just said.
- WHAT!?
I couldn't help the words that came out of my mouth in utter shock just in the same time as Lucy. I was trying to find any hint that he might be joking but I didn't, he meant it I could see it in his eyes then he chuckled and smiled and for whatever reason I wanted to lean closer and even kiss him but I didn't. What was wrong with me? I never felt this way towards anyone else before but every time he was around or touched me my mind was flying at all those silly romantic stuff.
- You should go pack your things
He said patting my head gently and then I noticed he was holding me by the waist with his other hand. My cheeks got warm and I was blushing furiously it felt good but quite intimate like a couple things so I got up and said stuttering:
- Y-yeah I'm going I'm going.
I covered my warm cheeks with my palms and went to gather my things followed by Lucy who came out of her daze as well. I started from my bedroom taking my pink pajamas, the blouse was white on the front and had a cute star with a blushing face on it but the sleeves and back were pink with white and golden stars and the pants were just pink with white and golden stars, I didn't had many clothes but I decided to not take too many with me. I took a light pink blouse with cherry flowers on it, some other comfy black pants, a blue shirt with hibiscus flowers all over it, a white hoodie with a cute cat on it, some pink, white and black lingerie with lace and small cute bows in the front, 2 pairs of socks one pink with light pink and yellow roses and the other red with a light pink and white interlocked hearts, a towel, my light pink bathrobe from the bathroom, my hot pink toothbrush, my bottle of perfume, I wasn't really wearing make up but I had a hot pink lipstick and lip balm that I decided to take for any eventuality.
Lucy helped me to put them in a bigger bag neatly then I took my phone charger and my simple headphones that you pluck into the phone, they were both white, I was mostly a creative person and I liked to paint or color whenever I had time so I took some A4 blank pages, my paint set, my markers, pencils, brushes, glass for water that i was using at painting, glitter pens, my pink scissors, my glue and glitters. We managed to get everything in the big bag and i decided to take my favorite little statues, I had a cute white cat in a sitting pose looking up at a Crescent moon and a small angel statue with a lyra, and of course my favorite picture with me and Lucy smiling and having fun.
I took one last look into the closet with the remaining clothes which were some light blue pajamas with a moon and clouds on the blouse and small stars and clouds on the pants, a pair of dark blue comfy pants and a light pink blouse with some daisies on it.
I looked around making sure I have everything I needed as I didn't knew how long I'll be staying with him probably until he manages to put this creatures In their place and keep the order and peace I was pretty sure once that happens he wont need me anymore and I'll probably never see him again and that made me sad so I made a mental note to not attach to him in any way.
- Rosy, how do you feel about all this?
Lucy asked me and I looked at her, I sighed and answered:
- I actually don't know Lucy
She looked at me with understanding and compassion
- Well he definitely doesn't waste time, does he?
She chuckled after saying this and I smiled in returned.
- Honestly I wasn't expecting to be moved in so soon, when he mentioned it I thought he was probably going to send someone to pick me up tomorrow after work and we could have spent the night together, you and me.
I stated thinking at this whole situation while Lucy chuckled amused.
- That would have been nice but you know what that means?
She said with a grin plastered on her face
- What?
I asked her confused
- It means we are gonna spend the weekend in the mansion!
She said clapping her hands excitedly and I left out a chuckle.
- I guess so
I said with a small smile as she hugged me.
Lucy POV
I noticed my best friend checking her surroundings one more time after we finished with her bag to make sure she doesn't forget anything important. She was lost deep in thoughts and then I noticed the glimmer of sadness in her eyes that she tried to hide, I guess she doesn't know that I know her too well to not notice such small details.
Rose as I know her is quite an interesting and surprising person. I remember the day we meet, she looked like her whole world was destroyed and I felt sympathy towards this girl who seemed to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders. Keeping on a brave face and hiding her emotions as best as she could, she has trust issues because of her old friends and family and it took her a while to open up to me, it was a lot of patience necessary with tons of attempts and I knew she was too lonely and closed off maybe this angel can help her feel the affection and love she deserves he really seems to have an interest on her and it seemed he cared genuinely about her I just hoped he won't break her heart and use her as a tool because if he does he's gonna feel my wrath! No one hurts and uses my friend just to toss her away when he doesn't need her anymore and if I found out he's mistreating my best friend I was gonna make him regret! But I had this feeling that he won't at least not intentionally and i was hoping to find a man who would look at me the way he looks at Rose I'm pretty sure they didn't figured out their feelings to each other as it is too early and they meet very recently but if they work it out I think they'll live a happy life and I'll get to be an auntie for their little angels.
As I noticed her sadnes I decided to lighten up the mode and start a conversation by asking her how she actually feels about this whole situation but when she told me she doesn't know I figured out she had her walls up and she will try her best to not get too attach to him so the Angel Lord will have quite a lot of work to do to win her trust and heart. If only they knew how it looks from an outsider perspective when they stare into each other eyes they look like lovers and it was very adorable to be honest I never thought my shy best friend will get the heart of a Lord as she always avoided even the subject about the former lord, she did told me a piece of that burden and situation that made her cut the ties with her family but never the whole story and I hope one day I'll manage to find out the whole story or maybe he will manage to get it out of her as i noticed he has a way to make Rose so flustered and comfortable like earlier on the couch she's never letting guys hold her like this and she always keeps her guard up and distance from them and that made me wonder what exactly happened if she avoids even the slight mention of the former lord but I feel whatever it is there is not very good as he was known to get his way no matter what.
After our little conversation I hugged her and she seemed more relaxed well I was also quite excited thatI'll l get to see the luxurious mansion, since she told me about it earlier i wanted so badly to see it with my own eyes.
As we left Rose's bedroom I was now leading the way back to the living room, she took another glance at her bedroom then slowly closed the door and I noticed the concern in her eyes as she didn't seemed so sure about this whole deal thing but then determination filled her expression and with a soft sigh we started walking back to where we left the angel. She had her big bag and the smaller one she uses at work in each of her hands I offered to help her but she said she's fine and she can do it, such a stubborn girl.
As I noticed the Angel Lord greeting us as we got to the living room I looked how his expression turned to concern and displeasure and I was wondering why so I followed his eye line who went to Rose's bags and he approached us, I started wondering again if he has a twin brother or something like that I'd love to be so lucky as she is and get my own gentleman angel but then I remembered she said he had fine guards so maybe I'll give it a shot if I have the chance when I heard them start to quarrel:
- Give me those please I'll carry them for you!
He said gently then I turned to look at Rose who shaked her head vigorously
- No need, is fine I can carry them
He seemed very displeased by her refuse and said more firmly this time:
- Please I insist, even if you can doesn't mean you need to
Rose was stubborn and refused him again:
- No no, they are mine and I should be the one to carry them, I'm not as weak as you see me.
- I never said I see you as a weak girl
He protested and i couldn't help the chuckle that came out of my mouth and they both snapped their heads in my direction.
- What's so funny?
- Nothing
I answered when Rose asked me with a pouty face and I chuckled even louder as he took the chance and snatched the big bag from her hand while Rose was now throwing him a sharp glance. Lovers quarrel I thought to myself.
- C'mon you two, we won't get there tomorrow either in this rhythm.
I told them as I checked the clock and it showed 6:00 pm. There were almost 5 hours from here to the mansion with the car and I was already getting tired and hungry.
Gabriel POV
I waited for them in the living room looking around more properly this time as I had enough time and I was expecting the packing to be longer but I was surprised when i heard their soft footsteps approaching and I saw them entering the living room. She only had 2 bags, a big one and a smaller one that she seems to use it for work. The bag seemed a little heavy and I didn't liked to see her struggle so i offered to help her but she was very stubborn until her friend started to chuckle amused by our exchange and I took the opportunity to snatch her big bag and i carefully placed it on my shoulder as she threw me a sharp glance.
As we were about to leave Rose stopped suddenly and looked around at her small living room, her gaze stopping on the couch and she went that way so I followed her to make sure she's alright. She was staring at her star shaped small pillow and she touched it patting it gently then she hugged it dearly and put it back on her couch, she looked up at me and I noticed she was debating is she should take it or not but I guess she decided not to as to not seem like a little child to me then she passed me and went towards the door putting on her shoes. I looked at the star shaped pillow for a few moments and I decided to take it for her so I put it in a light bubble and teleported it to the car trunk then with a smile I joined them once again and we left the apartment with her locking the door and putting the key in her pink jacket pocket.
As we made our way outside the staircase I decided we'll make a stop to the mall to get her and her friend some more stuff as I assumed maybe she wasn't able to get more stuff because she was working every day 'til weekends and she had bills to pay.
Why I thought the mall would be a good idea? Well me and my subordinates have observed human kind over the years and I've noticed many ladies really loved shopping so I supposed they will like it too so why not giving it a chance?
We got outside where my car was parked, we were greeted by Elijah and Lucas and I passed the bag to Lucas as I knew he will be extra careful when putting it into the tank. As he made his way to the back of the car I noticed him glancing at Rose then at her friend Lucy with curiosity.
- My Lord!
Elijah greeted me respectfully with a half bow and I nodded in acknowledgement then he saw the two girls and I saw how his expression changed.
Elijah wasn't very fond on humans as he witnessed some of the cruelest humans who took advantage of some of our kind and even how one killed an angel to sell his wings, fortunately the human was caught and punished and we made sure the wings were buried with their owner, Cadel was a great and compassionate warrior that my brother Michael suggested I take with me as a subordinates but unfortunately he didn't made it until I was sent here, he died 3 years ago and since his death Elijah was even more decided that humans are cruel as they killed one of the angels he admired so much. An angel so compassionate and understanding who only protected the weak and innocent and didn't do anything wrong to deserve such a fate.
Rose greeted Elijah and Lucas as she already meet them even though she didn't knew their names.
- Hello
She said shyly to Elijah with a sweet smile that melted my heart but Elijah only scoffed and looked at her annoyed so I threw him a scolding gaze when I noticed the glimmer of sadness in her eyes. My stubborn human ally didn't gave up just yet and gave him another sweet smile while saying quite nervous:
- Maybe we started on the wrong foot? I'm Rose as you already know, what's your name?
Elijah was about to tell her something but looked at me first meeting my scolding gaze, he bowed his head in submission and answered her in a plain neutral tone:
- Elijah, now excuse me I'm busy.
He left her there staring at his back as he walked away, I was decided to have a serious talk with Elijah later today. He was one of my most trusted and he's gonna be in charge with her protection as well so he needed to stop behaving like this.
- Do we really need to take them with us my lord?
Elijah mindlinked me with a very displeased tone that I didn't quite liked.
- Yes, she's our ally and that's her friend and I expect you to treat her well as you're gonna be responsible for their protection as well.
I answered him in a firm tone, he was quiet for a few moments then asked in a matter of fact tone:
- Why me? You know I don't like humans my lord.
- I know but you're one of my most trusted and a great warrior and she's in danger. Just try to get to know her better she's not like other humans.
I said letting no place of arguing and he sighed.
- As you wish my lord
He said and we ended the conversation. Rose was now talking with Lucas who approached her and smiled friendly, now that's what I liked to see.
- Hello Miss Rose, how are you?
- I'm good thank you.
She answered as he greeted her happily and that made me smile then he noticed Rose's friend. Lucas eyes stayed glued to her for a few moments as she approached and then he greeted her politely as well:
- Hello to you too miss, may I know your name?
Rose looked at the two who seemed to be analyzing each other and chuckled cutely.
- I'm Lucyla, a pleasure to meet you. What about you name?
Lucyla answered with a big smile reaching her hand to shake Lucas but instead of shaking it he kissed it like a true gentleman and that surprised her who looked curiously at him.
- I'm Lucas my pretty lady.
Her friend chuckled as she seemed to like Lucas personality and I was glad to know that.
-Well well you're quite the gentleman aren't you Lucas? Unlike someone else
Lucyla said with a hint of mischief at first then rolled her eyes at the last statement and I knew exactly who she meant so I left out a sigh. Lucas understood too and looked a little nervous but that didn't stopped him to put a few good words for Elijah and I knew putting them together was the best choice.
-Forgive him miss Lucyla and miss Rose, he just went through some things and that's what made him to keep distance and be vigilant but I assure you once you get to know him better and he opens up you'll really like him.
- If you say so
Lucyla said not very convinced by Lucas words. I cleared my throat to get their attention and once I did I motioned towards the car doors that I opened, Lucas bowed respectfully while the 2 ladies approached abd I invited Rose to get in first. She looked at me and smiled then she entered as we were on the left side, then her friend enter and I closed the door. Elijah was approaching to get inside too but I stopped him.
- No, you're getting the sit next to the driver
He looked at me stunned.
-My Lord, why? Im supposed to protect you.
- I want you on your best behavior not giving our ally the cold shoulder, I know you're not found on humans but that doesn't mean you should be disrespectful. Do I have to remind you that she saved my life?
I told him in a firm tone, I did not liked how he was acting around her I understand him but he shouldn't be judging her when we don't even know her that well.
- No my lord there's no need to remind me but she's a human and...
I cut him off gesturing him to stop.
- Enough Elijah you should remember that not all humans are the same just as not all angels are and you know that very well as some of our own kind hurt innocent humans neglecting Father's will and even betrayed us along the years.
He bowed his head in submission and nodded
- I'm sorry my lord
- Is not me who you should apologize to.
I told him turning around to enter as Lucas opened the door for me and looked at his friend with sympathy. I sat next to Rose as her friend took the sit facing her while Lucas entered and took the sit next to Lucyla.
I mindlinked the driver telling him to make a stop at the mall as the car started to move soon after. Rose was looking outside the window as her friend took some glances at Lucas from time to time and he did just the same. After a few minutes Rose's friend started to asking me questions and I felt like I was at an interview but I chuckled amused as I thought she only wants the best for her friend and she was just assuring that I'd never mistreat her.
- So you're the famous Angel Lord, right?
She asked putting on a serious face while Lucas looked at her concerned then at me, I nodded my head at him to let him know it was alright and she knows, he relaxed and just stood there listening.
- Yes thats right
I answered her nonchalantly as she gave me a scrutinizing look.
- And you want my best friend to help you with her healing abilities, right?
She said while Rose was still looking outside but I was pretty sure she was listening closely.
- That's correct
I stated simply.
- Do you see her as a simple tool? You're not gonna toss her away, are you?
Lucas eyes widened at this human girl boldness but I only smiled seeing her serious face.
- Of course not, she's my ally. Why would I even want to do that?
She seemed pleased with my answer then continued with another question:
- Do you see her as only a simple ally?
I looked at her trying to understand where she was trying to go with that and I noticed from the corner of my eye how Rose glanced at us.
- What do you mean by that? She's not just an ally I'm going to treat her as an equal.
- That's not what I meant
She said with a sigh as both me and Lucas looked at her trying to decipher what she could mean and i thought maybe she means I I see her more than an ally like maybe a friend? Rose touched her friend hand as she was about to say something and shook her head at which I looked curiously as her friend swallowed back her words. I turned to Lucas who was watching them puzzled as well.
Lucyla cleared her throat getting our attention back and she looked straight into my eyes.
- Just make sure you treat her right because if you hurt her in anyway you'll have to deal with me
She said in a matter of fact tone and I was quite impressed of how protective she is towards the cute shy girl beside me.
- Don't worry miss Lucyla I'll treat her right and take care of her.
I told her also in a matter of fact tone as I intended to keep my promise and she nodded satisfied then her expression changed to curiosity and hopefulness as she asked:
- Do you by any chance have a twin?
I stared at her for a moment then I chuckled amused as Rose stared at her friend in disbelief. Lucas started chuckling amused in his sit hiding his mouth with his hand.
- No, I'm sorry but I don't have a twin
I told her still amused and she made a cute pouty face and whined.
- That's too bad
- But I do have siblings
I told her with a smile and she looked up at me curious.
- You do? Where are they? Younger? Older?
She asked question after question with curiosity and I found her quite adorable and fun.
- Yes I do. Some are home helping our parents others are in different place of the world with their own responsibilities. And both younger and older.
I answered each of her questions patiently and Rose seemed to pay attention to the subject as well. Her friend stared in amazement while Rose seemed curious but stayed quiet then Lucyla spoke again:
- Is she going to be safe with you? Will you really keep her safe and protect her?
Lucyla asked me with a concerned expression.
- Yes, I'll protect her with my life I promise you.
I said reassuring her and she nodded. Then she turned her attention to Lucas who seemed taken aback to have her attention on him.
- So Lucas you're an angel as well, right?
He seemed surprised to be the center of the attention now but soon he recomposed himself and answered:
- That's correct but im not as strong as my lord here.
- How old are you?
She asked him with interest.
- Time is different for us but even though I'm hundreds of years old I look like I'm in my 20s for humans.
He explained with a chuckle as her eyes widened in shock.
- Hundreds? Damn I thought you're younger.
She stated still staring at him in disbelief as he chuckled again
- Well I am in fact younger then our lord here
He said smiling at me and both girl looked at me surprised. Lucyla started asking him about his hobbies, Lucas hobbies were stargazing and planting he really enjoyed nature while he asked her in return what are hers at which she answered she likes cooking, art and fashion. She was telling him about her favorite designers and magazine while he listened attentively to her.
I glanced at Rose who seemed a little sad and lost in thoughts but as I looked at Lucyla and Lucas interaction I understood in an instant who's the sociable one among the 2 girls, her friend seemed quite a chatterbox and made friends with ease while Rose was the shy and quiet one just sitting there observing. The sadness in her eyes made me wonder what could be weighing on the mind of such a pretty girl but I decided not to listen to her thoughts as it wasn't nice to intrude in her privacy. We angels have the ability to hear humans thoughts and as much as we try to not invade their privacy it happens quite often for us to accidentally overhear them. So I just resumed to gaze at her and cover her hand with mine as I did so the sparks surrounded my entire being and I felt her sadness more pronounced then she gazed at my hand trying to pull away like my touch burned her but I didn't let go so she turned to look at me and I found myself sinking into her beautiful eyes until we both relaxed.
Before we knew it the car went to a stop and she turned her head to see why, the spell broke then she turned to lock back at me with a questioning look.
- Why are we at the mall?
Her friend Lucyla asked and as I turned to face her I felt Rose pulling her hand from me as she remembered we weren't alone and a slight blush warmed up her cheeks.
- I thought you might enjoy some shopping before we get to the mansion
I said with a smile and her friend eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. I glanced at Rose who seemed quite unsure of the idea but didn't said anything. I got out of the car followed by Lucas and I went around the car to open the door for them, after I did I hold my hand for her to take it but she hesitated for a few moments, I felt hurt by her gesture and she noticed so with a sigh she reached to hold my hand and I helped her out full of joy feeling the sparks erupting once again. Lucas offered his hand to help out Rose's friend and she took it without a second glance, I wished Rose would be more open like her friend but I reminded myself that she needs time to adjust and trust me.
Elijah POV
I got into the car annoyed that he sent me to sit with the driver when I was in charge of protecting him, he even scolded me for being cold with that human girl and I just couldn't believe it that he wanted me to apologize to her.
Our driver is a leopard with wavy sandy hair and lime green eyes, quite tall with broad shoulders, he's quite quiet and down on earth but he does make jokes sometimes and is a pleasant company. I guess I could say we are friends but not as close as I am with Lucas. He seemed quite surprised to see me sitting there but I was too annoyed to pay attention to the curious look he gave me.
- Everything alright?
Kyran asked me while starting the car and I threw him a sharp look.
- No need to be so pissed Elijah I was just looking out for you that's all.
He said gently and I sighed, he was right I shouldn't be acting like this.
- He sent me here
I said shortly while he gave me an understanding look and turned to look to the road.
- What you did this time?
- Nothing I was just cold with that human girl and he didn't liked it, he even wants me to apologize to her.
I told him while crossing my hands over my chest still feeling annoyed. Kyran sighed and left me to calm down. We stayed in silence for a while and I got lost in my thoughts until we stopped and I looked at the place he stopped.
- Why are we at the mall?
I asked him confused and he looked at me with a warm expression
- He wanted me to stop here.
He said and I sighed I frustration, wonderful he took the girls at the mall I said to myself in a sarcastic tone.
-Elijah maybe you should give her a chance? She didn't do anything to you and you're judging her, don't you think you're a being unfair?
He said as i was about to get out of the car and I threw him a sharp glance, he didn't backed up though so I just turned my back and got out. We entered the huge building and i felt pissed again, these ungrateful humans will only take advantage of his position and wealth but it seemed only I thought that a my lord seemed wrapped up around that goldie locks finger while Lucas was only his usual naive self who felt pity for humans.
Wonderful we were going to become those girls bag carriers I scoffed internally but keeping the pace close behind my lord who seemed way too happy about it.
