Eribion could not really be considered a city, at least if we had the inhabitants or permanent residents who numbered less than a hundred or barely exceeded it, 25 guards, 25 merchants, 50 workers from the various taverns and inns, and the sharecroppers and carters and annexed offices that did not add up to more than another 25, and this being very generous.
The entire city revolved around trade, compared to the difficult routes to the west or north, with pirates or frozen seas, it was much easier to use the river to go up to the very heart of Sentria and then make the trade routes with Vertrans , Dwarves or Elves in chariots by land.
We could say that it had a lot of traffic, and in winter, if the merchants were unlucky enough to not be able to catch the barges before the river became impassable due to ice, it was a good refuge, a place to lock themselves up during the dark week.
