Chapter 14 - New Rewards 1

Back in the blue room, my body had recovered from its injuries, and my exhaustion had vanished. While Data kept repeating that he was calculating the rewards, I reflected on everything that had happened.

Although I was surprised to be the best or the first during the first phase of the tutorial, in the end I just climbed out of reach of the rats and slashed them from above. No matter how many there were, I just stuck my spear over and over and over again. He had no more merit than not being exactly a warrior confident in his abilities...

Perhaps that also saved me in the second phase, or perhaps it was the skills that I chose; although I had been able to choose more skills, I did not choose any of the most obvious ones, such as stealth that many players used to playing assassins, rogues or explorers would have chosen; I did not opt for first aid to ensure healing, nor did I think about opening locks... I did not pick up mobility skills or resistance... I'm sure I was not the only one among the 2000 with this thought, but I had the advantage of choosing more...

Any warrior or person skilled in combat would have thrown themselves into the fight against the goblins, and with level 1 or even level 2 obtained during the test, how many of the 2000 could survive? How many would find all the exits or not choose? Finish this phase as soon as the opportunity arises?. How many would survive the felines in full form if they had chosen that route?.

Needless to say, the players who used to handle magical classes at the moment had nothing to do... I didn't play to show off, but to use everything the game could offer; if I killed goblins while they shit, was that bad?.

"Calculated Rewards"

"For discovering all the dungeon exits, an additional special ability will be awarded."

"Being the first to discover the first exit will grant you an additional common skill."

"Being the first to discover the second exit will grant you an additional common skill."

"Being the first to discover the third exit will grant you an additional common skill."

"For being the only one to kill all the monsters in the dungeon, two additional combat skills will be awarded."

"For being the only one to reach level 3 during the second phase of the tutorial you will be awarded the title: He who walks the Hero's Path. *The experience of all the monsters you kill is multiplied by 1.5."

"For being the only player to complete the hidden piece, three magical affinities will be awarded: magical affinity with metal, magical affinity with gems, and magical affinity with blood."

"By being the first to unleash and feel the magic in the second phase of the tutorial, magical affinity with the spirit will be granted"

"For surviving the second phase of the tutorial the following reward will be awarded:. 2 objects of the player's choice.

S+ Dungeon Performance Evaluation: The player will be able to choose 2 common skills, 1 special skill, 2 combat skills, 1 access to the dream merchant, luck stat boost +2.

From what I had seen in the development of the phases, the skills could not only be learned but could be triggered in some way, whether with the spear or with first aid; therefore, you had to play intelligently, choosing those skills that were either fanciful or that I didn't have...

Filter the skills by discarding all those that were a consequence of physical acts, or purely physical skills, and discarding others that depended on specific knowledge that you already had, such as first aid, or whose knowledge you could acquire (leather working, forging, construction, opening locks, etc.), and I looked at a collection of more mystical or rare abilities,

"Detect Presence, Acute Senses, Sixth Sense, Lucky Strike, Beginner's Luck, Detect Secret Doors, Eyes in the Back of the Head, Calm Mind, Observe I Miss It, Meditation, avoiding panic, resisting fear, lightning reflexes", there were more but these were the ones that caught my attention the most. If I could choose five of them, which would be the trickiest combination? Which one would suit me best? I thought about my life...

I was never a very lucky person; I didn't have bad luck, but I never won a prize or had a wonderful chance happened to me that didn't depend on my own abilities, so the Lucky Strike and Beginner's Luck skills were a good option.

Lucky Strike * Common * When the character needs or desires something very strongly, the chances of increasing their luck increase (+2 luck stat during the event)

Beginner's Luck: Common: When the character performs or attempts something for the first time, his luck stat will increase (+2 to the luck stat during the event)

With a base stat of 14, I could add up to an additional +4, and this would make me as lucky as the luckiest of humans, which was a lot even if I didn't know what that luck would consist of.

As I have already told you, I was always a clumsy person, with little physical ability, few reflexes and poor intuition for combat. I decided to choose a skill among these three: lightning reflexes, Lightning Reflexes, Sixth Sense and Eyes in the Back of the Head.

Lightning Reflexes: *Common:* The character's reaction ability increases in the face of surprising and unexpected events (dexterity +2 during the event)

Sixth Sense: A common character gains vague intuition about unknown events (combines Luck, Perception, and Wisdom rolls to determine intuition)

Eyes in the back of the head*Common* Character cannot be easily ambushed or attacked from behind a temporary increase to Perception and Dexterity stats during the event (+2 to Perception and Dexterity stats)

Although they were all useful to me, Sixth Sense was something that would allow me to guide myself or get rid of dangers, so I initially chose this skill... Although I would not give up the others in the future if it were possible for me to obtain them...

Because of my professional training as an exploiter, I knew that it was with hidden quests and secondary events, that the most difference was made in a game when you had no real skill, so I chose the Detect Secret Doors skill, as a step to be able to advance on that path.

Detect Secret Doors*Common* When passing through a hidden door, the character gains an increase in luck and perception statistics to locate the door (+2 to luck and perception rolls).

I decided to use my last ability on one that altered my mental state, since changing the psyche had always seemed difficult for me, and once I looked at the statistics with empty mana, spirit and Ki I thought the obvious option was meditation. It is true that we all have notions of how to meditate, but are we sure we really know how to do it? Are we sure we have the ability to enter that state of calm and communion with ourselves and the world?

Meditation; common. The character can calm his mind through breathing techniques; this allows him to be more sensitive to external and internal energies.

Now came a strange moment: what would special abilities be if they weren't combat ones?

I displayed the list that was as small as it was strange: Mimic*Special*The player can learn a common ability after watching another player or players activate it three times.

Mana Body*Special*The player's body is especially sensitive to mana, increasing the growth speed of his mana cores by 1.5.

Mystical*Special*The player is sensitive to the spiritual world. Energy Vampire: *Special:* The player can regain strength after each death of an enemy (+0.1 resistance per death).

Vital Vampire*Special*The player can regain health after each death of an enemy (+0.1 health per death).

Combat Maniac * Special * The player gains a +1 to all of their stats while in combat.

Parallel mind: Special: The player can carry out two different mental processes to perfection. Rest of special abilities blocked during the tutorial.

The trickiest skill was mimic; although it only served as a principle for common skills, it had an unlimited growth perspective...

The next skill I liked was Mana Body. I had just gained an affinity for certain types of mana, what if, in addition to being the first, it grew faster than the others...

Having decided on this part and still not fully understanding how magic would work in this world, I continued with the combat skills;ls, most of them were active skills such as shield blow, forceful blow, charge, block, parry, dodge, deep cut, however I filtered To see only passive skills that could come in handy, this was my preselection:

Combat Awareness*Combat*The player has good combat instincts and can perform basic defense and attack operations naturally.

Spear Expert*Combat*The player knows how to handle a spear naturally and gains a +1 attack in combat when wielding one.

Expert Weapon and Shield *Combat:* The player knows how to perfectly combine the use of a weapon with the defense provided by a shield, gaining +1 to defense. Longsword Expert: The player knows how to handle a sword naturally and gains a +1 attack in combat when wielding one.

The last choice may sound strange, but precisely, I did not choose to use a sword before because picking it up, holding it, and handling it were not as easy as with the spear, the ax or other weapons, to be able to do a good role in combat with a sword it was required of a certain expertise, and I had always been very clumsy.
