Until now I had planned everything as a hack and slash, killing a lot to level up, but nevertheless and seeing the difficulty that the goblins posed for me, who was in theory a player of a higher level than the rest, not even being a combat machine, which was not easy to kill everyone... Attacking the barricade was ruled out, jumping in the middle of the town was more absurd, and facing at least 2 big cats was a certain death...
I focused on the ecosystem of the cave and its dynamics... The goblins had not isolated the cavern, possibly they depended on the water source, nor had they appropriated it by shielding it, which made me assume the superior strength of the felines. ...Beyond that was the fact of the exit at the end of the darkness, the fact that there was a latrine there could mean that they sent patrols to that area to prevent another adventurer from entering through the grotto...
I had not found bones or remains of goblins in the different tunnels, so the feline attacks had to end with the bodies dragged towards the burrow, that also fit me with the behavior of a small pack...
To unblock the situation the only thing I could think of was the game of crumbs...
Although not a spectacular number, I thought about the corpses of the fifteen goblins I had faced so far. With more disgust than anything else, I dragged them all, with my ax and, acting bravely, cut off their heads and arms... I dragged one of the mutilated bodies as close to the barricade as I could without it being discovered, and I continued placing bodies and pieces of them until I reached the crossroads of the tunnel through which I presumed the felines would come...
To provoke the situation a little more, from the ledge I threw the heads of the 15 goblins to the center of the town, soon the screams of rage echoed among the stores. I didn't stay to see the show, and I ran with a few goblin arms to the cat tunnel... I didn't have to go far, leaving goblin arms every three or four meters, when a roar that made my hair crawl. tip echoed in the darkness ahead of me... I ran backwards, throwing myself through the tunnels without worrying about the noise I was making until I reached the ledge again...
With my heart in my fist, beating like crazy, I waited... luckily there were no footsteps or sign that the feline was chasing me, I hoped it was entertained by the first corpse... from my position about 12 meters above the town I could see a large group of goblins heading towards the barricade.
Chaos broke out shortly, shouts of fighting could be heard in the tunnels, I would like to tell you that I was brave and that I joined the brawl throwing spears left and right, but it was not like that, I stayed and waited... the roars of several beasts resounded, even some type of lament... from my position I could see how the barricade crumbled when one of the felines jumped on it, in the town the few that remained came out to repel the attack, I could see how the claws and The feline's teeth destroyed the goblins it found in its path...
It was like a large panther, with gray fur, but unlike the felines seen on land, this one had a larger, rounder head with a huge mouth with two rows of teeth... the tail ends in a sharp point that also played a role in the goblin massacre.
Likewise, surrounded by a good number of humanoids, the wounds did not take long to appear, the wounded beast recoiled... That was the moment when I decided to go down from the ledge, I slid down the wall a few meters and jumped the last 6, rolling down the ground when I landed...
I looked inside the first tent, an old goblin looked at me perplexed, but before he had time to even scream when my spear pierced his chest, where I thought his heart would be, I looked around the different tents performing the same operation, it was dirty, unpleasant, or even cowardly, but I did it, when I ran out of weak victims to fight, I looked at the place where the fight seemed about to end... the feline was retreating little by little with an ugly wound on one paw and in one eye... the group of defenders in the town was not much better...
With as much stealth as I could, I positioned myself behind the 6 defenders who, although wounded, faced the beast... The closest one did not see it coming, suddenly the attack came from behind, piercing his chest from side to side (after After a little practice he had learned to recover the spear to prevent it from getting stuck).
When his body fell forward, the perplexed heads of 5 goblins looked at the body... The feline did not need much more distraction to jump and almost tear off the face of one of the goblins... A goblin woman with a short spear managed to stabbing it into the beast's stomach, although she could not prevent its teeth from destroying his neck.
I stabbed my spear into the side of another goblin, who, without the will to fight, even if the wound was not fatal, crouched on the ground in a fetal position holding the wound... The blow of a stone ax resonated on my shield, I thrust just like that. as I had learned to do with this one by knocking the goblin back with luck that tripped the last defender...
While I stabbed one of the goblins on the ground, the feline's jaws hovered over the other goblin's leg... Perhaps in what was its first brave reaction in its life, the goblin did not let it die and repeatedly stabbed its short knife in the feline's face... My spear hit the feline in the neck, this jump back releasing the exhausted goblin who hit his head on the ground...
With a wounded leg, one less eye, and multiple wounds , the landing was not as "catlike" as the monster expected, losing balance and falling on its side, I advanced with the spear in front and managed to wound it again before it regained its vertical position... this time my spear pierced one of its the hind legs...
Although he couldn't gain momentum with his injured paws, he did manage to hit the shield with his claws, three grooves almost cut the shield into pieces, and his force was enough to make me take a couple of steps back.
With the advantage of the distance of the spear, and with the exhaustion, injuries and lack of mobility of the beast, a game of attrition began, thrown, retreat, thrown, block, thrown, retreat, block, thrown... The Wounds accumulated in the feline and little by little it was losing strength, a spear pierced its chest... it fell exhausted... but I didn't trust it and I literally left it like a sieve to make sure it was dead...
I reviewed my surroundings and finished off all the wounded... The noises of fighting had also ended in the tunnel... I looked out enough to see that of the more than 20 goblins that had left, only 7 returned, battered, wounded, and dragging the body of the one who, due to his half-armor and colorful clothes, had to be their leader... I positioned myself perpendicularly to the exit of the tunnel so that they wouldn't see me...
The group sped up when they began to see the disaster that their home had become. When the last of them attacked, unlike my habit of diving in or stabbing in precise areas, I launched again and again as fast as I could my spear against the three goblins furthest behind, of the five thrown only three hit the target, leg, back, and arm. The first two fell to the ground incapacitated, and the third managed to survive until he turned around and this time received a spear in the neck, with his hands trying to stop the blood and he was going to put up little fight.
Data's voice was heard: "Multiple throw skill acquired. 1/1000*Combat *In exchange for a loss in precision and penetration, a multiple attack can be launched with the spear.
Encouraged by the new ability I returned to throw my spear trying to see what the limit would be, I managed to throw the spear 7 times against the next two goblins, 3 throws failed, but another three hit the first goblin, leg, arm and hip, and the next one hit the goblin in the chest.
The other two goblins who, due to their equipment, looked like the guards of the previous leader, had more experience and each one went to one of my flanks to surround me. They had some rough and round shields, probably made of wood and leather, one held what looked like a short sword, and the other a hand ax that at first glance was better than mine and that must have belonged to some adventurer.
Having controlled one of my flanks with the shield, I concentrated on the axe, unfortunately not everything could always go well, he dodged the spear with his shield and threw the ax against my chest, he narrowly missed, or rather he didn't calculate and neither i did that my armor would absorb the impact and prevent a clean cut.
A bruise, nothing more than that, at such a short distance and within the scope of the spear's action, I had no choice but to kick him in the torso.
However, this made it difficult for me to leave my other flank a little open, so the other goblin managed to hit me with his sword in the leg... If it weren't for the gladiator's glebes, the cut would have been serious; however, I escaped with a simple puncture. Not very deep. I separated this goblin with a blow from my shield, knocking him on his ass. Although he protected himself with his shield, my precise spear pierced his crotch, leaving him writhing in pain.
The kicked monster returned to the charge, although with one less enemy to worry about, I could take the fight more calmly... He protected himself as best he could, but in a fight against an enemy, larger, with more range and better equipment, alone, He was able to exchange a dozen blows and feints before my spear pierced his defense and cut his arm holding the axe.
Data again heard: "Congratulations to the player for reaching the next level with the "precise throw" skill: Expert 1/5000 *In exchange for speed, the player can give a precise throw that bypasses defenses and penetrates deeper into the enemy.
The end of the fight was more unpleasant and not worth narrating; I stabbed and skewered the dying. I did not stop to check the corpses or loot, but rather I entered through the remains of the palisade. I advanced, finishing off the wounded goblins that were left on the ground... After a bend, I found the body of one of the felines that It was supposed to be like babies, a baby one-meter-long and one hundred kilos, but a non-adult specimen compared to the one that had entered the goblin village...
I climbed a little further among the mangled bodies of the humanoids, and shortly after, a second body of a slightly smaller hatchling lay with its belly cut open, probably by a goblin knife.
There was no sign of the adult or the other calf, only a trail of blood leading to the tunnel where they were supposed to have come out. Just before the tunnel, a goblin was dying... I killed it quickly, without thinking...
"Congratulations to the Player for being the first to reach level 3 in the tutorial."
