"Thank you for giving me time, gentlemen." Anton glanced at Kiran on the ground and nodded as he approached to administer first aid. "You won't be fully healed, but you'll survive until I take down the enemy."
Kiran felt a warm surge through his muscles and soon regained consciousness. Morales also noticed his wounds stop bleeding and looked in surprise at this exorcist, who wielded no cursed energy.
"Forgive me..."
"I've got it, Anton!" Alexander appeared, carrying Jim's body while holding a massive spear in his right hand, his body clad in advanced armor.
"Can you retreat to a safe place? My attacks might end up damaging you if you don't move now." Anton looked at Alexander and, after a moment of thought, said, "Alexander, can you take Miguel?"
"Will you be okay?" Alexander cared more about Anton's safety than that of a stranger, but he understood Anton's feelings, so he asked first.
"Of course, I'm better than ever." Anton unleashed a darkness from his body that slowly enveloped the surroundings.
As Anton spoke, Morales nodded, understanding the Pope of Light's words. This was easy compared to fighting a monster from which he would not emerge alive.
"Most of the people have been evacuated, so you don't need to worry about collateral damage! If that demon general continues his rampage, it's possible hundreds of thousands will die."
"Let's get out of here!" Alexander carefully picked up Miguel's body and quickly ran off, also holding Jim, who was in critical condition.
As for Anton, his gaze turned toward the demon general, who was once again getting to his feet in the distance. A miserable being—Anton could feel the power, and all those souls were trapped in the shadow of that formidable enemy.
"You've also learned about that new energy." Anton's thoughts were confirmed—this demon general was wielding small amounts of deeper dark energy as well.
"Why isn't he angry?" That question formed in Anton's mind when he saw the eyes of the demon general in the distance. Unlike the natural behavior he should have exhibited, there was no anger for being interrupted in his fight against Miguel.
"Is it because he thinks no one can escape his grasp?" While Anton pondered this, the demon general slowly emerged from the pit where he had been thrown.
The demon general let out a slight snort, and numerous shadows appeared in all corners behind him, so many that there wasn't space even for a drop of water.
"It's true you're very powerful, but we'll make sure this place becomes your tomb."
"I'll take care of you so quickly that you'll feel true terror." Anton drew his sword, and a burst of divine energy made the surroundings feel heavier.
Many things were happening in the world.
But what was lacking was the time to eliminate all the enemies that had been appearing, no matter how strong they were.
Death and blood...
Those were the only words that could describe the surroundings of this populated part of Miami.
"I understand perfectly; I know much of your power, and I believe you are not that strong; you're probably less than twenty years old, so it's unlikely you've inherited all the power of that sword." The demon general looked at Anton and said, "It's been thousands of years since that sword unleashed its full power, so you'd better not disappoint me."
"Do you think we can handle this demon, Souler?" At that moment, a voice as cold as winter appeared from the opposite side of where the demon general, referred to as Souler, stood.
"Who is this?" Anton turned and saw a pure demon general, at least two and a half meters tall, holding an ice spear.
A demon general had within him hundreds of demons, some fused with others, merging not only their strength but also their abilities.
"Can I keep the body of that human?"
Anton turned his gaze to the side where the voice came from—a voice both male and female—and then saw a slender figure with incredibly bloody energy.
"Nigra, the soul is mine, so you can take the human's corpse when we kill him. Wasn't that the deal?" Souler, the demon general, looked at Nigra, who had appeared, with cold eyes.
"I've always wanted to add an incredibly powerful corpse to my collection; it's a shame I don't like sunlight and such intense fights," Nigra said with an indifferent look.
Suddenly, when Anton saw these new enemies appear, his face hardened.
He realized something...
Souler hadn't been enraged because his fight with Miguel was interrupted; it was because these enemies had always targeted him.
This was a trap.
A trap only someone intelligent and desperate could set.
And right now...
He was surrounded by three incredibly powerful enemies that, if not for his recent power increase, he was sure he could never defeat alone.
Demon General Mammon.
Demon General Nigra, the Reaper of Shadows.
Quickly, many of those around identified the targets that had appeared in this place.
"Well..." The corners of Anton's mouth lifted as he murmured, "It seems I'm surrounded..."
Anton raised his sword and said, "Now I can finally unleash all my power."
Boom!
