Kiran, the renowned hunter who personally trained the extermination division in other countries, threw a punch at the demon with such force that it flew far away, violently crashing into a building.
Boom!
The demon, emerging from the rubble, did not immediately counterattack but opted to bare its fangs while lying on the ground. Meanwhile, a tall, robust figure with a formidable appearance suddenly appeared beside Kiran. This demon differed from the rest due to the two enormous horns on its head—this was the demon general, the first envoy from hell, preparing the gateway to the human world.
"So, you are the demon general. You must know you will die cruelly in this place." Jim shouted, hands on his hips, appearing serene on the outside but feeling a chill run through his body.
"Arghhhh!"
When the demon general appeared not far away, he took a few steps forward, and in an instant, one of his minions brought forth an old man who seemed to have several broken bones.
"Soldier, you must evacuate all the survivors from this place, or they will die at the hands of that demon!" Kiran shouted, keeping his eyes on the main enemy.
The dark pressure was incredibly superior—never before, even when facing other types of demons, had he felt such pressure. It was as if this creature could touch the soul of any living being. That feeling of fear from being exposed to this ancient creature was truly suffocating.
The fear emanating from this creature was etched into the soul of every living being, as everyone has a soul that is minuscule compared to the reddish demon standing before Kiran.
"Need help?" At that moment, Jim appeared right beside Kiran, observing the demon in front of them.
Crack!
The sound of bones breaking came from the old man's body. Unlike ordinary exorcists, Kiran and Jim knew clearly that this was a very transparent provocation.
After killing the old man, the demon walked and fully revealed its imposing, towering body, standing over three and a half meters tall. Its corporeal yet ethereal figure radiated a terrifying presence. Additionally, its body seemed to be enveloped in a dark, translucent shroud, giving it a ghostly, spectral appearance. Its elongated, twisted limbs faded into mist as they approached the ground.
The demon's head was a shadowy skull with no eyes, alongside its two horns, and a mouth perpetually grimacing in anguish. Furthermore, a halo of darkness hovered over its skull, giving the sensation of perpetual gloom. As it moved, its form distorted, leaving behind a trail of dancing shadows and an aura of malevolence that chilled anyone who dared to look it in the eye.
"Why didn't you save him?"
Kiran smiled as he clenched his fists and said, "We are different. We are here to kill you, not to sacrifice ourselves for civilians. Their deaths will be minimized by eliminating you, won't they?"
"Ha, ha, ha, maybe, yes... Little humans, my teeth and claws have torn through their dark souls. I will ensure their flesh is well used, and all of you in this city will die." The soul shredder roared so loudly that numerous translucent figures emerged from behind its back and spread throughout the area.
...
The representative of external affairs of the Black Eagle organization asked, "So, how many deaths are there?"
"It's impossible to know right now..."
"That soul-shredder demon was detected in Spain thirty-two hours ago, then appeared on the coast. That being was heading towards the city, killing all the humans it encountered on its way."
On a large screen appeared a map showing the streets of Jerusalem and a red zone indicating the war area. In the last five hours, the window had extended several kilometers, and now the zone has expanded to twenty kilometers.
"Looking at all the chaos it caused and all those deaths, what it's looking for is..."
"It's drawing attention."
But there was no time for such reflections; they needed to know if the exorcists sent would manage to kill such a powerful demon.
"How long until the Pope of Light arrives?"
"In less than an hour, but we are not sure..."
"At least we know reinforcements are coming, but this is still a mess." A curse escaped directly from Anderson's mouth. If things were not controlled, the existence of demons would have to be exposed, which meant the complete ruin of the world.
It was just reported that three special-grade exorcists had moved to eliminate it. They were the only ones present here; more force would be needed to eliminate it.
Anderson's only consolation was that the demon did not move quickly.
"Mr. Anderson, Kiran is engaging in combat!"
...
"I will fight it hand-to-hand. Your rituals are powerful, so we will make an attack once we know more about their abilities." Kiran, who was very resistant to hand-to-hand attacks, was about to take the initiative in this combat.
"Are you sure you can handle it?" At that moment, an exorcist named Morales arrived on the scene and said, "It seems completely reborn in the human world; that demon can only be faced by the Pope of Light."
"Yes, I understand..." Kiran's eyes fixed on the beast, and he adjusted the bandages on his hands.
Kiran, who walked towards the soul shredder demon, said, "I see that this is an enemy we cannot be overconfident about; after all, we don't know how many souls it has consumed during all this time."
Kiran's eyes glowed as the divine energy of his body reinforced each of his muscles to the maximum.
Auge!
Each step Kiran took made the streets vibrate and the ground sink.
The demon general also moved, sensing the strength of those two figures.
In an instant, Kiran's enormous figure stood face-to-face with the soul shredder, and both moved at an impressive speed. The burst of mental pressure completely sank the surroundings.
Just a second later, both figures clashed forcefully.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The fists of both, which could easily pulverize concrete, began to collide with each other.
The other exorcists remained on the sidelines, as their bodies were weaker due to focusing on entirely different techniques. For now, they evaluated the enemy.
