"Ahhhhh!!!"
An agonizing scream was heard in the distance when suddenly a figure clad in armor crashed into an abandoned car on the streets.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Keep firing, all civilians behind us!" shouted a soldier as he threw some smoke grenades just behind them.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The large caliber of the shots drew survivors from all around the world the world to that location. In normal situations, survivors flee war zones, but here everything was different. As long as they were with those who came to help them, at least they would serve a purpose or even escape.
"Call for reinforcements; we need more soldiers in this area!" A soldier ran while reloading his weapon; they needed at least two to three magazines to take down one demon.
As they started shooting, all the nearby demons swarmed towards them. This led to direct combat against the demons, but what everyone was grateful for and gave them confidence was that the cursed spirit in the sea had not moved.
"The military is fighting; we need to support them!"
"Are you crazy? You'll die!"
"What demons are they shooting at?"
"That thing in the smoke moved, and it looks huge!"
Once the outer area outside the barrier stabilized, the soldiers launched an attack from the front just to evacuate the survivors to a safe zone. If the exorcists who arrived here faced the enemy directly, all those who were still alive might die.
The soldiers were brave; they fought with their hearts in their hands, but the losses were numerous and incomparable to the eliminations. For each demon they managed to kill, one or two soldiers were wounded. If they tried to kill two demons together, one soldier died and three were wounded.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Damn it... Don't underestimate humans; even with no chance, I'll take you to hell with me!" shouted a soldier in the grip of a demon as he detonated the bomb on his chest.
Boom!!!
The huge explosion scattered debris, and the limbs of the demon that died in the blast flew into a thousand pieces. Everyone knew how dangerous it was to eliminate the enemy; in fact, they were all prepared to die if necessary.
Most of them had suffered the loss of a loved one inexplicably. The army recruited them in secret and sent them to special exorcism agent bases, where they were trained and accepted as part of the human squad facing anomalies without fear.
They all understood that, compared to the exorcists, their bodies were like paper and their weapons were sometimes just caresses to the enemy, but they felt the need to do something and fought without remorse.
Only this way could they contribute a little for all those who had died without being decorated or remembered.
"Hold on, sir; I'll get you to a safe place!" A pair of youths dragged a soldier who had lost his left leg while the soldier kept firing.
"Run and leave me here; if you keep moving in that direction, you'll find a group of soldiers! You must flee and warn the soldiers that the demons are moving quickly!"
"We won't leave you, sir; we'll escape together!" shouted the young man with a determined expression as he dragged the soldier.
This is the natural effect of things...
Humans with their negative emotions create dark entities; they themselves are their victims, and humans are controlled by the demons.
"Everything is perfectly balanced." A man with long hair and a cold expression pulled out a long knife. The divine energy from his body exploded, and he stabbed a woolen doll: "Spiritual contract, reverse control!"
Boom!
As if a sword had pierced through the foreheads of all the demons within hundreds of meters around, their heads exploded, and the agitation of the attack caused all the glass to shatter.
"Any civilian must leave this place; things are going to get very bad." The man continued walking, followed by a dog at least a meter and a half tall, which looked more like a lion than a dog.
"Excuse me, sir!" shouted the soldier while sitting on the ground. "Are you from the special division?"
"No one in this world is special, soldier. Good job and go home." The exorcist known as Jim was the first to move, while on the other side of the city, Miguel had already made contact with several demons.
"I feel like I might die today; I shouldn't have answered that call... But they let me get the autograph of my favorite actor. Hollywood is truly my path... At least they've promised me a role in a movie; can you imagine my path to success?"
Jim, a lover of movies from any country, was excited about eliminating the demons from this place because he had set a special condition, which was to meet five actors and take a picture, and after that appear in a movie with his beloved dog Bulbubi, a peculiar name for a pet.
"I hate dying without knowing how far my favorite pirates will go; I also need to eat those noodles in France that I saw in the movie Mission Impossible." Jim was a simple man; he eliminated demons because he believed that was the life of a superhero.
"There are only three exorcists in this area and two on the way."
"Spiritual contract, summoning shadow dogs!"
