"Your reaction is expected. Many of you might be wondering, Who the hell is this man standing in front of you?" Anton spoke in Korean so that everyone would understand him. Even Lucy looked surprised, as she didn't know Anton spoke the language.
Generally speaking, certain groups of people wouldn't understand why a foreigner would make decisions in their own country. Many wouldn't notice, but here it was obvious because everyone had Asian features except for Anton and his team.
But this wasn't important; at least Anton didn't consider it fundamental, because anyone who didn't agree with his leadership could disappear from his sight.
"First of all, let me tell you that I belong to an organization called the Light Association. This is not the first time I've worked in South Korea, so believe me when I say I'll do a good job."
A man who seemed to be the commander of this police station asked, "What is your job here, besides leading the operation?"
"Making sure that only the parasites are the problem and not a group trying to feel stronger by being together... If the parasites take control of this locality, what I will do is precisely prevent that, eliminate the Alpha, and end this."
Anton clapped his hands and said, "To conclude, I will have you sign a sheet where you will promise not to leak any of this information to a third party. If you hide useful information, you will be punished with instant death for betraying humanity."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"I wouldn't talk about demons so lightly, detective. You don't really know the world you live in, and you certainly don't have the authority to address me as an equal." Anton's voice grew even colder, and everyone felt they were in the presence of a truly dangerous man.
Lucy wanted to intervene, but she believed that Anton's appearance was much more delicate than she had imagined. "You've heard him; if you reveal anything discussed here, you all should think twice."
"If you know anything, no matter how minor it seems, and hide it from me, you will face more than a simple suspension. So, I wouldn't make mistakes if I were in your place." Anton dropped the cigarette he was holding and turned around.
The briefing had ended long before it began. Anton didn't want to waste time talking about useless things when they had work to do.
A new type of camera was being developed that would immediately take full-time X-ray images of people, allowing them to immediately find out if they were a problem or not.
But he didn't have that technology yet. Besides, he needed to eliminate all the parasites in this place before returning to his comfort zone.
