A few days later, things had calmed down to the point where there didn't seem to be any more nearby predator threats. Although things with Akira hadn't settled, there were many more things Anton had to do.
"Quinn, it will be an honor to have you as a captain of the S.C.G. and lead your friends, who I believe will become something like brothers from today onwards." Anton looked at the soldiers who had recently been judged for crimes that sentenced them to prison.
Quinn gave Anton a military salute and said in a serious tone, "We will be honored to serve you, Guardian."
Anton nodded, greeted each person willing to be part of the silent war, and then boarded a plane that would take him back home.
On the plane, Akira was sitting a few seats back, watching the news on her smart tablet.
"So, you don't know anything about that matter? I think the situation is becoming increasingly delicate. Believe me, I've never felt such strong emotions as I do now with this case."
Akira looked up when she heard Anton talking about a possible dark entity. She wanted to ask him what was going on but wouldn't do anything conspicuous until he figured out why she was angry.
"Don't you think you can get the information?"
"That's very bad. I can't focus much on one topic, but as someone responsible, I must take charge head-on." Anton sounded increasingly serious about it.
Akira shook her head; she didn't want to think much about it since she could learn about it later. She was currently watching a live stream of a cat receiving donations that made food fall automatically.
"Let's help these little street cats—the only good thing you can find on the internet these days," Akira thought, smiling discreetly as she watched the food fall after a donation.
Meanwhile, Anton was having an intense conversation with Rafael about how to get Akira to stop being angry.
"Flowers, sir; women love flowers very much." Rafael, on the other side of the call, advised Anton, who seemed very worried.
Anton shook his head and muttered, "She is a professional assassin; how do you expect her to love flowers when she has preferred throwing knives all her life? I looked online, and they say nonsense like giving her Italian chocolates. Where the hell am I going to get chocolates from Italy? With this damn heat, that chocolate will be liquid before it gets to my house."
"I'll look for information; I'll ask the nuns at the monastery."
"Do you think they have privileged information?" Anton frowned upon hearing that.
But Rafael seemed convinced and replied, "I heard that Sister Patricia got married over fifteen times. If anyone knows about love, it should be her."
"In the name of God..." Anton couldn't believe that such a woman ended up becoming a nun.
"Are you sure that nun isn't in the church because of you?"
"I'm sure of it, sir." Rafael felt a shiver.
Anton ended the call with more questions than answers. He didn't know if Alexander had a different taste from his gender, so he recommended studying his sexual orientation more. And with Rafael, he didn't know if he was being pursued by that woman who joined his church as a nun.
"I was sure about not calling them. This is a damn madness." Anton thought as he glanced at Akira's reflection in the wine glass next to him, who was silent.
When the plane arrived at the airport, Anton got off after a few more minutes, looked at Akira, who said nothing, and asked, "Do you want to eat something?"
"I'd rather rest a bit; my period is near, so the symptoms will worsen a bit." Akira firmly refused to go.
Anton smiled slightly; things would only get worse from this point. Without expecting it, he instinctively began to pray, something he had never done before.
"Give me light on my path, Lord." Anton thought with a great headache.
Upon arriving home, Anton was satisfied with the new building he had acquired in the middle of some mountains. This discreet building had the latest technology and many more defenses than even a military base.
"Don't you like the building? I think it's perfect for spending time without disturbances." Anton looked at the huge trees that provided cool shade to the building and glanced at Akira, who nodded with a tired expression.
"I'd appreciate it if you could prepare something to eat."
Anton nodded and said, "I'll take care of it."
"Thank you..."
Anton watched as Akira entered the building, and he was seriously puzzled. Had things changed again?
"I think it's easier to understand a dark entity than my own fiancée."
