"Are you sure about this?" Akira looked at Anton, who was watching Kevin, better known as the Beast, lying strapped to a stretcher with thick belts.
Anton nodded, though he wouldn't insist despite needing a soldier who would obey orders without question. "Just stay with the new one and teach her some of our ways."
There was no more reason to have this conversation, prompting Anton to take the first step in this procedure. The first thing he needed was to bring back one of the rational personalities to interact with them, and then everything would progress from there.
"You must be Dr. Gregory House. It's a pleasure to have you in this old facility." Anton greeted the man who would help him control Kevin.
Dr. House looked at Anton and extended his hand to shake it. "Indeed, I'd prefer to be with my other research right now, but since you urgently requested a psychologist, they sent me."
"Do you have experience entering people's minds?" This was the only thing Anton cared about.
"No, but I suppose I won't do too badly."
Anton smiled slightly, knowing this man would help him achieve what he wanted. Not everyone was as cold or passionate about research as Dr. House, making him more confident that this would go well.
"If I'm going to enter his mind, you should know there's a possibility he might die. I don't recommend it if you just want to save him." Dr. House looked at Kevin, who was writhing like an animal, and told Anton what he thought.
"Enter his mind and bring one of his other personalities back to take control." This was the only thing Anton cared about.
Dr. House nodded, took a syringe from his briefcase, and without hesitation, injected it into Kevin's IV, who continued to roar. "The beasts fall asleep, and only then can we enter their mind, take their thoughts, and change them if we wish."
"Good, my friend. The beast no longer has control, and you are safe. Is anyone listening?" Dr. House sat beside Kevin, who seemed very sedated, and asked what he wanted to know.
In a state of confusion, the brain prioritizes survival, but when the body is sedated, it seeks more prudent ways to ensure its survival.
Dr. House observed the patient closely, capturing every gesture and facial expression. With his characteristic penetrating gaze, he analyzed the subtle signals that could reveal the true nature of the individual. He used his sharp wit and medical knowledge to decipher the effect of the drugs on the patient's brain, searching for any clue that could help him understand their mental state.
"Return, take control, and let's talk."
When he received a notice about this case, he didn't want to participate, but when he was told this subject had over twenty personalities, he became so interested that he wanted to know if it was real.
The Beast currently had control, and Dr. House knew his only chance to achieve what Anton wanted was to bring back someone more prudent.
"You'll need help." Anton approached, placed his hand on Kevin's head, and began to use his divine energy to help clear all those dark thoughts.
"Arghhh!!!"
Kevin writhed for a few more seconds before becoming completely still, his body shutting down abruptly.
"What kind of witchcraft is that?" Dr. House looked at Anton strangely but remained silent, knowing that these priests had more connection with the undefined than with the scientific.
Anton stepped back from Kevin and signaled Dr. House to do his job.
"Okay, now you're going to wake up... In three, two, one, and time."
Click!
Kevin opened his eyes again, his gaze carefully observing the surroundings, and murmured, "He is asleep."
"Who are we speaking to right now?" Dr. House asked, sweating coldly, knowing that the personality, expressions, and gaze had abruptly changed.
According to Kevin's file, having lived his childhood with an abusive mother who physically mistreated him, Wendell faced very complicated moments, such as child abuse. This caused him to develop different personalities as a defense mechanism that took control of his body.
The medical file mentioned that in some way, these controlled the light, that is, his body, and threw Wendell into "the shadow."
One personality, feared by all others, is the Beast, who awakened from "the shadow" to seek to rid the world of people who haven't suffered pain in their lives and therefore don't deserve to live and have no value. To the Beast, people who have suffered are stronger. Within Kevin Wendell live 23 distinct personalities, most of which are known.
Kevin smiled, looked at Anton, and said, "My name is Patricia. I must thank you for helping us return and calming the beast.
Dr. House looked at the file and soon found the description of Patricia.
She is one of Wendell's dominant personalities, acting as the "mother" of all of them. She is very disciplined and calm, with the power to keep the other personalities in line, being the most dominant only after the Beast.
"Let me ask you something: would you like to make a deal to give all of you a chance to live a new life?" Anton asked a rather aggressive question that Patricia would definitely consider.
"What's the catch? Everyone doubts your kindness." Patricia looked at Anton with a pleasant smile on her face.
"Tell me, what are your desires?"
