"Do you think this family is being watched?"Anton asked this when he heard Akira's remarks on this matter.
"Just think about it."
Anton knew that there were many people that even Annie, who was the daughter of the old woman who had died, did not know. Besides, many people outside where the farewell ceremony was being held seemed to be watching the families of those affected.
That only gives you one thing to understand: Are you from the ritual group Annie I'm talking about?
This hinted to Akira that the family was part of a dark plan involving a ritual.
"That makes sense..." Anton summed up a little more the doubts that were around him and knew perfectly well that if it came to this, he must first eliminate everyone in the cult.
For now, the most important thing is to eliminate those who got involved in the ritual that was planned.
"So, are we waiting for reinforcements, or do we eliminate them ourselves?" Akira wanted to stay focused on this mission, so she consulted her doubts with Anton at all times.
The first thing I wanted to know was where that family lived, so I looked at their house.
"Let's go to that family's home first; I want to know something that is disturbing me." Anton had called his elite team, so there wouldn't be a lot of problems with the people of that ritual cult.
Although everything was important, the main thing was to eliminate the plague that was spreading evil in this town, and if they had time, they would help the families of those affected.
Anton hadn't thought of anything else; this was the procedure. Cases that may cause the greatest damage are resolved first.
When they arrived at the Graham house, Anton looked around and felt a horrible putrefaction that immediately told him the location of the problem.
"Do you know how to identify evil?"
Akira, who had read it, nodded his head and said, "Burning a talisman with strange runes, sticking the knife into the ground, going through that talisman, and if the smoke is black, there is a dark aura around."
"Then do it; even though I could tell from the beginning, I want you to know."
Although Akira's abilities are unmatched, his experience dealing with the supernatural was not so much, so he wanted to teach him tools that could help him in the future.
"I didn't think I would do something like this on our first mission."
Akira got out of the van on the way to the roadside and placed a white talisman, sticking a knife in it and lighting that same talisman. She could see how it lit up, giving off in turn a blackened smoke that smelled terribly bad.
The next second, the knife that was stuck to the talisman began to shake.
I would be an idiot if Akira didn't know that something was very wrong in her surroundings.
She could now feel it, smell it, and tightly hold the silver cross that she always carried in her right hand.
Ideas of how dark this place was began to form in Akira's mind, letting him know that things weren't as simple as he had been taking them to be.
When Anton noticed the changes from one side, he looked at the surroundings, but seeing nothing, he muttered, "Maybe the darkness of this whole place is reacting together, which means it is being released by the same unique method."
"How has this place not been discovered before?"Akira walked away from the knife that had ignited into flames and looked at Anton, who had put out those flames with holy water.
In most cases, darkness cannot be detected until a demon gives no indication of presence in the human world.
Most of the time, the present darkness is usually solved by the same people who attend church, start believing in other religions, or simply change their homes.
But sometimes, when there is a ritual involved, there is no way to detect it until it is a little late. That's why they had to act much faster than thought.
"An exemplary family usually solves the initial problems of darkness by getting rid of what they think causes it, but rituals are a very different story, and even more so when they have been offered."
Akira understood this, knowing that the people who caused this had knowledge about other organizations like the one they belong to.
"Let's get out of here; we'll first identify everyone from the ritual cult and eliminate that threat before dealing with the real problem." Anton said this while analyzing the right plan of action.
…
Graham House
"Is something wrong, honey?" Mr. Graham looked at his wife, who was looking out the window, and asked curiously.
"That car looked strange; forget it; maybe it's just my imagination."
Steve looked at his wife and said, "You should rest; all this is affecting you even if you try to play hard."
"I'll do that." Annie nodded her head. She was still very shocked by her mother's death, so she preferred to rest.
