"Is this the town?" Akira looked at the map on the screen next to the driver's seat and, knowing they were in the right place, drove to a park that seemed to be the center of this town.
This town was very secluded from the city, which left them a bit without possibilities when it came to receiving reinforcements. However, knowing that as long as it's an emergency, these problems disappear,.
"First, let's grab something to eat." Anton got out of the truck, dressed in his characteristic tunic with golden crosses, a black suit, and hidden weapons, and walked towards a restaurant.
Akira was dressed in her black tea clan suit, her Japanese tunic with darker colors, and a pair of black gloves that concealed the tattoos on her hands. Both she and Anton were covered in tattoos that represented their personalities and, certainly, some abilities.
To ensure she was better protected, Anton had her tattooed with some protection runes that would give her more chances of surviving when facing demons, and this was the only way Anton would be sure of her protection.
When they entered the restaurant, Anton stood at the entrance, observing each person in this place and furrowing his brows slightly as some people who were watching him before had diverted their gazes.
"Welcome to Ginza Shishi; are you here for lunch or to order takeout?" A girl approached and asked with a sweet smile.
Akira, who was looking around and observing the surroundings, immediately said, "We'll eat here, but it would be nice to have a table near the windows."
"Of course, right this way." The girl led them to a table that was in the corner near the entrance and then handed them the menu.
"Is something bothering you?"
"Most people here are very peculiar." Anton looked at the food on the menu and ordered several things at random.
"The world in general is peculiar; I can't even imagine how many peculiar people I've given rooms to in my old job."
"Yes, but this is different. I feel like most people here are involved with the Black Cover Organization that we have information about."
When Anton said this, the waitress approached with several dishes of food.
Akira, who was very observant, also noticed the strangeness that Anton had mentioned and asked the girl who was about to leave, "Wait, can I ask you something?"
They needed to make sure this town was totally involved with the Black Cover Organization, and for that, they needed to act in a very special way to be observed by them.
"Of course, what's your question?" The waitress turned back with a bright smile.
"Have there been any notable things in this town out of the ordinary? We're passing through but wanted to know if it's safe to stay here for a few days to rest."
The waitress showed a charming smile while looking at the girl, observing every detail of her facial expression.
"Mrs. Annie Graham's mother recently died; in a few hours, there should be a ceremony at the local church." The girl didn't know what kind of question this was, but then she pointed out, "But other than that, nothing out of the ordinary has happened. We all die at some point, so there's nothing notable to mention. Of course, if you want to spend a few days here, you should know it's a very safe place."
"Thank you for that; we won't take up any more of your time."
"Enjoy your meal." The waitress said this with a smile before going to attend to other customers.
When the woman's name was mentioned, Anton searched for information about Annie Graham and discovered that her biological mother had died a few days ago. She was being mourned for a few days, and today the ceremony was scheduled in a few hours, so evidently, they would visit.
"How can we search for something we don't know where it is but must be related to supernatural events?" Anton placed the smart tablet on the table for Akira to look at the content.
"We only have data on when that supernatural energy erupted in this place, but knowing that there are many more similar frequencies, we must assume that a cult in this place is related to the Black Cover Organization. If there's a death, the normal thing would be to analyze the day of her death and compare it with our data."
Anton sipped his coffee while listening to Akira's way of analyzing and nodded with a certain degree of admiration. "That's right, the time and day of Annie's mother's death show that at that moment the meter signs went crazy in this place, which means that if we investigate that family, we'll know more about what we're investigating."
Still, that was just the initial stage of the investigation.
The important thing was to know about the cult that was performing certain ceremonies, rituals, and meetings in this town. If they are related to real supernatural events, they would be eliminated immediately and without any doubt.

"Well, let's get going." Anton stood up after paying the bill, leaving the tip, and finishing his meal.
Akira, without saying a word, followed Anton to the church, where the ceremony would be held. Shortly after, Anton got out and said, "Stay outside to observe the people; I want to know if anyone else is related to these supernatural events."
"I'll take care of it." Akira held a pistol as she attached a large silencer just in case and walked towards a stone bench.
Knowing what would be done next, Anton bid farewell and walked towards the church, where a farewell ceremony was taking place for the deceased.
And the moment he walked through the door, Anton felt a black aura that made him step back a bit due to the putrefaction.
