The night had passed slowly and in a new way—something Anton had believed he had forgotten. It felt good that the feeling had been mutual.
Despite being with countless women in his past life, none of them loved him; they were all after his money, something he didn't pay much attention to at the time but now considers a treasure.
Anton was awakened by the sound of movement outside, where he was resting.
He opened his eyes to see Akira sleeping peacefully beside him. It seemed she had been very exhausted for some time, and now that all that worry was gone, she rested peacefully.
When Anton looked at Akira, she tensed up.
"What time is it?"
"Not very late, but not very early either." Anton sat up, checking the information on his cellphone.
Akira did the same; she looked like she had received a strange message and said, "My father is stable right now."
Anton got up to find something to eat. There were many things in this house, so when he found frozen food ready to eat, he decided to heat it up.
"Do you like ramen? It seems they have frozen it now"
Akira looked at Anton and nodded, not very picky about the food. At this point, it would be absurd for her to complain about the food.
Anton and many people had exhausted their energies in a brutal fight last night.
Right now, maybe the order was looking for them, but Anton had a good idea for that.
Neither of them spoke after placing the food plates on a small table.
Akira lowered her head. She felt strange because she had never been in this situation before, so she didn't really know how to act.
Anton, on the other hand, was eating his ramen while reading a detailed report on the situation. "We are going to meet with the Marquis later; the plan is to have a duel between John and the order. Once that problem is resolved, they could regain the hotel, but it's preferable for them to live apart from the order."
"Can I work by your side?" Akira looked at Anton, seeking his response from the expression on his face.
"You want to work by my side? I tend to take it very seriously; the things you will see may be very difficult to process."
"I can do it." Akira didn't believe she could return to the hotel because her father would not accept reconciliation with the order after they had killed all his workers.
Anton nodded. Those would be moments he wanted to see later, but for now, they needed to sort out the problem that had been affecting many parts of the world.
"As my fiancée, you should be by my side when I meet with the man who sought your father's death, murdered all the workers you considered family, and did not act in a pleasant manner."
"I can endure whatever." Akira truthfully didn't know what she would have done if her father had died, but since that didn't happen, she could control herself.
Obviously, Anton wanted Akira to witness all this so that she could later inform her father.
"Later, we can go to where your father is; I will send a request to the Marquis, and while that happens, we won't be attacked by the assassins who should be looking for us right now." Anton said as he got up to dress in a black suit that was here.
Akira also got up; she walked to a wardrobe, where she found suitable clothes to wear.
But before they decided to clean their wounds and the blood on their bodies, this process didn't take long, so after a few hours, they decided to leave.
"Archbishop Guardian, welcome." A man holding a wooden box with the purple cross of the title Anton held approached him to receive it.
Anton, who would now exercise his complete authority, was therefore an important resource for the Light Association, and because of that, he could not be harmed by the order.
Next to the purple cross were two rings of similar appearance, and Anton, understanding this, took them. "Give me your hand, Akira."
Akira extended her right hand without understanding, but the moment Anton placed the ring on her, she knew what it was. As a formality, the order adheres to its old customs, so this was a formality that could not be violated.
"So now everything is formal," Akira said as she took Anton's hand to put the ring on him.
Anton smiled, extended his hand for her to enter the van, and after seeing that everything was fine, he got in.
