Chapter 180 - A Fierce Battle

"There's still work to be done." Anton stood up, noticing that the demon's medium had been released, so all that remained was to close it.

"Archbishop, how are you?" Alexander was the first to climb the building and see Anton walking towards the exit.

At this moment, everyone began to feel safer.

Anton still had adrenaline rushing through his body, so he remained alert. He heard Alexander's question and inspected his surroundings to make sure nothing was left behind. When he felt there were no more demons nearby, he continued walking.

"Let's go; we need to seal the medium to prevent more darkness from being released."

Alexander nodded and didn't forget to inform: "We've captured the two men responsible for the evil being released. What do you think their sentence will be?"

"We'll see once everything is over."

Alexander quickly positioned himself as he carefully descended the dark stairs.

After dodging a number of wooden beams and passing through several piles of debris, they reached the door, where Anton stopped to watch as the agents were burning the bodies that had been touched by darkness.

People like the police officer or Pedro might wonder why they're doing this, and it's simply because those people died at the hands of evil. Each of the people who had died had been possessed by lesser demons; perhaps they were demons from Oleg's legions who had been invited by him to wreak havoc, so they needed to be eliminated as soon as possible.

As everyone knew, the body was the most valuable thing to demons because, through it, they could reincarnate in the world and make their presence known again in life. Humans are the most valuable gateway for demons, and when evil was unleashed, everyone who died returned as demons, no longer themselves.

"Sir, the town has been controlled, so now we will head towards where the possessed were." Rafael said, stopping the car he was driving next to Anton.

Anton got in without saying a word; now all that was left was to eliminate the remaining evil that still persisted in this town, and with that, the mission would be over.

Silently, Anton took out a rosary and placed it between his blood-stained right hand.

"May all those souls who lost their lives today rest in peace." There was a group of people in the car, but none of them wanted to say anything.

When facing dark entities, they never win; there are always victims and losses, so they just needed to silently endure all the pain, bitterness, and sense of loss they had experienced.

After parking the car on what seemed to be a bridge, they all got out. Anton, who had the best tracking skills to detect evil, headed towards the bushes.

"Stay alert; we could be attacked even by animals." Anton signaled Rafael to walk behind the group, and he would walk in front.

Rafael obeyed without hesitation.

Through the faint light of the flashlights, Anton saw a gigantic body covered in green pus that smelled truly bad, but his expression didn't change.

Taking out a blue powder from a small tube on his belt, Anton let it cover the smell that was currently torturing everyone, and without saying it twice, he said, "Alexander, purify this place."

"Understood!" Receiving a request from an archbishop, Alexander took out a wooden cross from his bag and looked at the body that had lost its life some time ago.

With both hands together on his chest, Alexander said aloud, "By the sign of the Holy Cross, deliver us, Lord, our God, from our enemies. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

"Amen..."

Watching Alexander's methods, Anton admired him a lot; he truly is a good exorcist who could reach Rafael's level, and it's truly a relief that he's in the group because he'll be of great help.

"Strengthen me, O God, so that I may do what I must do and endure what I must endure; accepting Your gifts and making use of my abilities, purify this place that has been contaminated by the evil that awaits us all in this world. We are Your most faithful warriors; we are here on a mission, so I hope to never be abandoned."

After finishing these words, Alexander took out a match from his jacket and threw it at the corpse lying on the ground; it ignited as if some kind of chemical had been used.

The surroundings seemed to sense what was being done in this place, so this was the last resistance of the darkness and evil that disappeared as if something had sucked them in.

Anton, after wiping the blood from his hands and nails, looked at Alexander, who had completed the job, and said, "Well done. Tell the cleanup team to enter immediately and secure the area."

"We've captured the brothers; are you going to interrogate them now?" Rafael looked at Anton, who was silent.

"Let's go; we need to end this once and for all."
