"The first team should go directly and close the roads connecting to the town; we must make sure we are faster than the dark entity." Rafael suggested this to Anton, looking at him.
But Anton shook his head; he knew the dark entity realized their presence as soon as they approached the outskirts of the town, so they shouldn't split up.
"Separated, we are weaker. That dark entity must be looking for a perfect body to eliminate us; for some reason, I feel it will come looking for me."
Anton sensed a great hostility from the demon in this place, so he knew beforehand that he would be sought out. Obviously, he had many enemies; perhaps it was a demon he had faced before, so such resentment was normal.
This was the problem with exorcists; if they eliminate a demon and it's not sealed, they will come back for those exorcists if there is great resentment on the demon's part.
Many victims of great exorcists by demons were known, so Anton didn't want to separate his forces and risk having this demon hunt down all his soldiers before coming for him.
Rafael understood this, so he didn't say more. If this demon knew Anton, things should be dealt with more seriously, and he knew better than anyone that being with Anton guaranteed more survival.
The convoy of three armored vehicles soon entered a very secluded area; most of the residences here were farms or people who hated living in big cities.
In their search for that path to find the possessed person's dwelling, they had to pass through quite complicated places.
The search lasted about thirty moments, and during that time, Anton's group managed to find the area to head towards where those people lived.
"If we had known we would find this place through drones, we would have saved more time." Anton stepped out of an armored vehicle and looked at the people who were silently watching them from afar.
Rafael looked at the people and said, "Zz... Eliminate anyone showing signs of being possessed. Remember, children and animals are the most dangerous."
The agents surrounded the house without saying a word to ensure no one escaped. No one said a word about eliminating children or animals; they knew demons liked to play with humans' emotions, so they had been trained to avoid these feelings.
"Who are you looking for?" The woman, who seemed to be the oldest, approached Anton and asked with some vigilance.
Anton looked at the woman and asked, "Are you Maria?"
Maria, hearing her name, nodded, looked at the symbols on Anton's jacket, and said, "You took a long time to arrive; they took my son..."
"We know that. Can you tell me who has been in contact with the dark entity? Names, tell me who took the possessed person, how long ago, and where they live." Anton signaled Alexander to check on the children.
Rafael, seeing the woman's doubts, reminded her, "What they have done has spread evil everywhere. This will be a death sentence for those involved in this disaster, so it's better to speak up if you don't want to be affected."
Maria didn't exactly know why armed men were in her house; her son, who was possessed, was taken by a man who had a cattle ranch not far from here, so she said she wouldn't know what other problems it would bring.
"Mr. Ruiz did not kill my son; he was taken far away from here, but no one has attacked him, so evil should not have been released from his body." Maria understood perfectly that the best way for everyone to be safe was to leave her son in a distant place.
The exorcists who were supposed to come never arrived, causing the situation to become so complicated that she decided to let her son go. The problem is that if they eliminate her son, the demon inside would pass to those who harmed him, and this would affect everyone.
"Search for Ruiz's ranch, eliminate the humans, and burn the house." Anton gave orders quickly.
"Understood!"
"No, don't kill my dogs!" A child who hadn't said anything all this time shouted when he knew his animals were about to be killed.
But no one listened to him because everything was slowly being infected.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Several soldiers stepped forward and shot the dogs. Anton, looking at Maria, said, "You will be taken to another place; we will check that you are not infected by evil and reward you with a new house."
"I understand; that's how things should be." Maria knew that this town had suffered many supernatural events and was slowly being abandoned, but the association of light had always been looking after this area, and it was known that they were interested in reviving the town.
Anton watched as the children were loaded into a white van; fortunately, none of them were possessed, so they could avoid losses for the moment.
While the house was being burned, Anton made sure the fire didn't spread, and they soon headed towards Ruiz's ranch.
