The property panel that only he could see automatically appeared in front of his gaze, and upon seeing that optional mission that had suddenly appeared, Anton fell into a surprised silence. Never before had something like this happened, where in the middle of something that hadn't given him a mission from the beginning, a mission would appear momentarily.
Judging by all the currently available information, this group of cannibal assassins was probably the one he had initially imagined. Coming to this conclusion, Anton looked toward the rear seat window. If he wanted to eliminate those monsters now, perhaps he should ask himself if he wanted to venture into that vast forest. This wasn't a problem, but personally, he believed that the effort was not necessary.
But after thinking it over seriously, Anton decided to accept this random mission. The main reason was that he couldn't leave this place due to the tire explosion, and he had conveniently eliminated two enemies very easily, so he could finish the mission before dawn.
Rafael could stay in the car with Chris and Jessie, so he could go and eliminate all those cannibals who seemed to be mutated for some unknown reason. As he imagined the right way to do this, someone beside him spoke.
"Anton, what should we do now?"
Anton didn't respond, took a pistol from under the seat, and handed it to the conscious Jessie. "You'll stay here; Rafael will take care of you while waiting for the Light agents, who will come to this position in a few minutes."
Obviously, Jessie didn't understand what Anton was referring to, but when she saw him open the door, she asked, "Wait a minute, where do you want to go?"
"I'll handle the problem; you stay here and don't speak anymore." Anton looked at Rafael, who understood the situation perfectly and nodded without saying a word. Both had been trained to kill not only corporeal monsters but also humans; at least from Anton's perspective, he had received better training, so he had nothing to worry about.
Of course, this was something Jessie could understand, but Anton didn't want to explain it.
Anton expected Jessie to insist that he not go to that place, but something unexpected happened. "Anton, let me go with you. I know where those killers live; I know their lairs, so you'll be able to navigate better."
Looking at Jessie, who suddenly seemed like a woman with a lot of character, Anton was very surprised by this. The last part seemed appealing to Anton, so what more could he say? Having a guide in the dense forest at night was not directly proportional to the time it would take him to explore the place. Anton only considered it for a few seconds before agreeing. Of course, to avoid problems in the elimination process, Anton needed to make things very clear. Basic rules: follow orders, move where told, and don't make noise.
"All right, I'll do everything you tell me," Jessie said with a determined expression.
Saying this, Anton looked at Rafael and said, "Send the elimination squad to my location; they will be able to know where I am with the tracker on my body, so what comes next will be much easier. Something tells me that our mission is related to those people." Anton looked towards the forest as he said this.
"The light agents will arrive in half an hour if they delay too much. Are you sure you don't want to wait?" Rafael, as an assistant, suggested to Anton what he thought was best.
Anton was determined to eliminate those cannibals, so he replied, "There's nothing to consider; I'll eliminate them, and after that, let's go home."
After finishing taking the things he would need, he turned off all the lights in the truck, and Anton, who was outside, closed his eyes slightly as he concentrated. As an exorcist priest, he could kill in self-defense, killing those who unjustly sought the lives of others. As long as he didn't feel guilty, eliminating anyone in front of him was at least forgivable.
"Let's go!" Anton raised the rifle and walked towards the bushes in the distance just before entering the forest.
"Yes!" As if still getting used to the idea that she was about to enter hell, Jessie quickly followed him, and, seeing the corpses of these monsters that had killed her friends, she trusted Anton more, who led the way.
In a moment, darkness enveloped the two as they walked through the dense forest. The feeling they felt was as if they had entered the mouth of a terrifying beast. Holding a pistol, Anton walked quickly. For close spaces, Anton found it convenient to carry the pistol for now and react more quickly to any enemy that might emerge unexpectedly from the surroundings.
"Last chance, do you want to go back or follow me?" Anton asked; it wasn't a problem for him to walk in the dark, but it might be different for Jessie, who couldn't see in the darkness.
Jessie pondered this for a moment; it was as she expected after all, and now she realized that guiding Anton would not be easy.
"I can't see the surroundings clearly." Jessie was a bit annoyed at not being helpful in this regard.
Anton didn't say anything, looked ahead, and murmured, "If you see anything familiar, you can mention it. Also, if you want to go back, now is the right time."
He could see the desire for revenge on Jessie's face, so considering that her friends had been frightened, Anton wanted her to take a bit of revenge to let out all that hatred and, hopefully, get rid of traumas in the future.
"Thanks for taking me; if I can be of help, I'd like to help," Jessie said as she followed closely behind Anton.
