Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A/N: This book contains 4 main characters and four perspectives. It will be fast paced along with many time skips.

1-

Our first meeting was due to an horrendous accident. I can remember that day as clearly as I can see the present blue sky. I remember training with the overexcited prince of the Eastern Kingdom when the rift opened right as our weapons clashed. For a moment in time, I saw nothing but pure blackness, before I ended up in another space.

The sky was red and the moon hanging over the head did not feel serene or calming. The placed promised death and the further we walked towards the only buildings in sight, we felt that our death was being written in stone and our graves were being dug. It was a red rift, that we knew for sure and the only way to get out was to beat the challenge.

2-

The 'Temple' of certain death as the sign suggested was eerily quiet. There was no sound of monsters or even the activation of traps. This place was so quiet, not even the noise of the winds were heard. I would have had a noise deprivation if it wasn't for my training companion. My heart had been wolf that day, with fear and anticipation. As a prince, I had a responsibility to go into one gate after I was fully trained, but I had never thought I would go so soon.

The first thing I heard was the sound of clanking chains before feeling the sheer cold of the threat coming at the speed of light. We got out of the temple entrance without being significantly injured. Even so, we saw the two beings within the temple and that in itself had given us a horrible realization. I may have been a cocky prince who have gotten everything I have wanted from my parents without question, but I was not stupid. These were not monsters, or humanoid creatures; these were gods.

1-

I may have been raised to be a part of the army along with the Head maid of the first prince, and I may have had training on par with the prince, but I was stupid enough to believe we could even scratch the gods inside that temple without loosing our lives. However, that also meant, we would not be able to get out of this place.

We were six years old, with no battle experience in rifts, wooden weapons and artifacts during this time. Heck, our only lifeline was the bound the gods to rusted pillars. For the cherry on top, we were dealing with the goddess of pain and retribution and the God of war and savagery. Their whole identity is based of bloodshed and fighting!

2-

We both knew we were fucked. The problem was we were one of the most stubborn pairs ever to be born in the same kingdom. We didn't want to die, but we didn't want to live here forever, so we dicided to fight. I had a feeling the gods within the temple knew of our decision the very moment we made it because a very terrifying aura came out of that place the next moment.

We figured out very quickly our body's instinct to survive and the fear the god's aura caused had beaten out our stubbornness. So obviously our first plan of action was to built up our resistance to that aura and to our fear. What we didn't realize at that time, is that the experience we gather in this space would be considered inhuman in the real world.

1-

It took a month for us to step closer to the temple without freezing like a dear in headlights. We knew the gods couldn't cross the border of the entrance. That being said, our bodies still shook despite us forcing down the fear we gathered. We knew there was no way we could fight with our bodies shaking like a leaf, so we continued to struggle with our brains and our survival instincts.

There was inside light within the temple, only the glowing red eyes of the two gods. The only illumination we had was from the constant moonlight. We noticed something change in our minds. We bacame colder, less like children: but we were still close comrades. We did not know what was happening to us as we trained our bodies or what changed in our weapons.

The weapons still had no edge or blades to speak off but they did not break or splinter. We did not know how long we spent in that place, but we knew about the swords to know, it should have taken major damage due to our constant use and training. Our bodies had been built to the point we could ignore the aura and get very close to the borders of the temple.

2-

It was around the time we were able to disregard the aura, is when we realized the gods fought with weapons. In fact, they constantly carried it around every time we had seen them. We knew the gods had magical abilities, along raw power, but they had not used it. Why hadn't they used their magic for a long ranged attack?

That had led to our rock throwing match. In short, we picked up rocks and threw it at the gods. It was my idea and my companion did warn me it was the worst idea that ever came into my mind so far, but the space had been slowly eating away at my sanity, and I needed something to do other than train constantly.

As soon as the rocks were thrown, the same rocks were thrown right back with a power to get rid of surrounding vegetation. The rock was like a mini meteor (exept without the heat). It was becoming pretty obvious that the chains kept them from using magic. That, or they didn't want to use it for children (since it would be overkill). I had grumbled my disasisfaction and had went on a week long sulking session before my lovely companion decided to throw a violent insult match against the gods

P.S: we lost….badly

1-

The first time we came entered the temple was also the first time we got killed. As in, we were literally killed by the gods with the weapons. I was killed by getting behedead by the flying fan and I saw my prince getting sliced in half. There was no remorse or guilt on the faces of the beings who killed us.

Then we were back at the entrance of the temple. Both of us were in shock and had never truly faced real death, but instead of charging right back, we wanted to know we were still alive. There was a thick scar around my neck and my prince had one around his torso.

We found out from the runic language that we won't die and the only thing that would be proof of our previous death would be the scars left on our body. The challenge of this rift was to inflict a wound on each of the god that is deep enough to draw blood.

We planned and ran in one person at a time and held out as long as we could to survey the area. We had hit puberty if my period was anything to go by along with the rapid growth spurt of my partner in crime. We translated most of the runes within the walls and found that the chains in fact blocked their magic and on the day of the red moon, their physical powers will be weakened. We could go in, the catch was, if we died, we couldn't revive.

2-

Years; it took years before our plan finally worked. No only did we deal a damage to a god, but it was in an area that was fatal to most humans. The chains had glowed as bright as the sun and we saw it start to shatter as the gods fell unconscious onto the ground. Esme wanted us to leave quickly before they woke up, but I wanted my revenge on those motherfuckers.

We had died countless times. We may have resurrected, but it didn't hurt any less. In fact, they had made sure our deaths had increased pain, just to keep us away. At some point we had no choice but to tune out the pain, and expect the exponential amount of pain that would come with each death. They were unconscious and I wanted to inflict pain onto them. What better way, then to take the weapons that they held onto tightly?

'It's official, you have become crazy due to this world!' She screamed at me, looking utterly horrified while staring intently at the twin fans clutched in the hands of the goddess. We both wanted the weapons. 'Do you have fetish of being cursed? Did the amount of death give you some sort of pain fetish?!' And it went on and on before I took a hold of the large sword with a blood read blade.

'A being of lesser power who do not share the blood of the god of War and Savegery cannot hope to control that weapon' the voice had said and I looked at the puddle of blood, before diving into it like a madman. Maybe I had become a little insane but so had she, since I saw her gut the goddess and have a fun time bathing in her blood while she was unconscious.

After we had our first blood, we held the weapon. 'We are now covered in the blood of the gods. So…can't really no' the sword had pulsed in my hands before becoming an appropriate size. I knew it was weaker than what the god had, but I regretted nothing! 'We are going to regret this in the future. Why do i listen to you?' Esme asks me defeated and I grin back victorious. 'Simple, you love me!'

3-

Waking up to my body looking like a gutted fish was not what I expected when we lost the trial. Those children had surprised us in more ways than one. The biggest surprise came from the fact, they kept their sanity within this space while fighting us. Dying constantly in fruitless fight is mentally challenging but the fact that they had the nerve to do this to god's body told me enough about their mental state.

I had a nice scar across my belly where I was gutted, along with the absence of my blood weapons. "Do they know we can monitor them through the weapons?" I ask my husband and he chuckles while rubbing the large scar on his face. That boy has balls of steel to stab the face of the god of war. Has he lost all fear? "Well, at least we'll have something to entertain ourselves with, while we stay here" he tells me and I grin before pulling up a large screen with my magic.

It felt so good to unlock my magic and my surpressed power. Those chains had brought me too much suffering and the feeling of hopelessness during our imprisonment is not something I will ever forget. The god of light thinks he is special just because he got a host first? Well, he is wrong.

4-

I laugh out loud as the sound of a slap echoes through the walls of the halls. My weapon holder decided it would be a good idea to piss off Esmeralda. Thus, leading to his scarlet cheeks. I mean seriously, the boy has lost all self-preservation skills and the girl was also close to loosing it. If it not for the fact she had to be the self-preservation skill for both of them, she would've been the same as him.

My weapon holder, Xavier decided to not take his crown prince position because it was way too much responsibility. He joined the military and Esme followed soon after, becoming the first member of his 'Executioner' team. Simply speaking, the team was filled with people who were inhuman in their own ways.

I saw my sword slowly accept him as a new holder, as he trained with it. His attraction to killing beasts and ridding the kingdom's borders of various rifts had given him the title of 'Demon of the Battlefield' and I was delighted.

3-

I squealed in delight as Xavier proposed to my weapon holder after they both defeated their first S rank beast in a red rift. They were perfect for each other and that was best shown on the battlefield. It was like they danced instead of fight. Their blood filled dance was better than anything they did in the ballrooms of the castle. It was filled with adrenaline and excitement.

Esmeralda had earned the respect of my Twin fans and I could not be happier. She had practiced with the odd weapon until she was proficient and her speed and stealth was greatly respected by many people in the kingdom. Despite being from the slums, she proved her worth through her power and I was proud to call her my weapon holder. I do not feel shame for the fact she had defeated me in the trial.

Either way, the wedding was pretty amazing. They did not want a huge wedding. Something small with only family and friends. I could understand that since weddings are supposed to be special not a spectical for others to enjoy.

4-

"So, when will we go to them? We are freee from the chains that had held our power hostage and free to choose a host" the god of war grins maniacally. He had chosen who he wants as his host, the question is, will he agree to give his body away.

"There is a large beast invasion coming towards the eastern Kingdom and those two does not have enough power to take on so many at once. We could go then, and help them protect their kingdom in exchange for their body" My wife keeps looking the horizon of the kingdom and I hum as a response.

"Then our plan is decided?" I ask and she nods. We may not have our weapons, but it does not mean we are weak. We are the strongest gods in the Dark God's faction. "You know as well I do that they will fight for their souls, despite how useless it may be" my wife tells me and I just look up to the moon and sort through my thoughts.

3-

After the creation of this universe, the gods had fallen into a unparalleled dilemma. Our powers were cut into peices and used as a energy generator for the creation of the universe. Even after the universe was fully created, it had not give back our powers. We were like a shell of our original self possessing mere whisp of our original power.

The being who created us, noticed the human's uncanny ability to absorb the energy of the environment fraction at a time for their future evolution. As a test he had went into one of the bodies and realized that merging the body of a god with human will specify what type of energy they absorb.

For example, if I were to merge with my weapon holder, Esme's human body will only absorb my power and no other gods. She will also expel the energy she has received from other gods while replacing it with mine. Unfortunately, the creator did not take into account human lifespan and permanently died in the vessel of his human. It did not help the fact, the human soul had continuously resisted without end.

There had been few gods who were able to keep their vessels as immortals. Some gods, moved human to human to keep the absorbtion going, while others searched for a new way to gain their power back. I wish to keep Esme alive and immortal so I need her consent. If this means to turn every member of the executioner immortal, then it would be worth it. After all, turning people immortal is not the problem; it's the merging with a god without falling apart that's the main issue.

"Both of them are strong, and they will do just fine" my husband said and smirks at me. "It seems you have grown a soft spot for the girl" i scoff at his teasing "Oh please, don't tell me it's not the same for you" his booming laugh echoes through the halls. "Well, they are only ones who had been courageous enough to fight and win. It may be true our powers were weak, and we had been weakened furthermore due to the chains, but the fact that those two defeated us, is something to be proud of. I want to see how much he grows, how strong he gets, but I also know, without my assistance, he will fall against those beasts" his grin vanishes and he stretches his spine which cracks like popcorns from unuse.

4-

"You know something my love, I would not mind if they survive against my soul and keep their consciousness. They would be eternity long companion and I find that quite lovely" I tell her then get up from my throne, my bonding parasites wiggling on top of my head. They had gotten back their spark after the chains were gone and I could see the faint trace of glowing red coming back to their body.

"I want to see how far they can fight the beast before we need to help them" my wife follows me with a grin. Even from here I could feel her curiousity shining through. My right bond parasite shivered as hers touched mine. The first time we had bonded was on our wedding night and it was something unlike anything I have felt in my life. I shake my head out of the thought and head towards the bathtub in my temple.
