*gulp* i go ahead and step onto the beginning platform, and i'm brought to the cliffs edge, as a timer ticks down *5,4,3…* i feel my body tense up as i see a few humans up top spot me, *2,1, GO* the humans start firing on me, this is all a simulation, it's just a simulation i think to myself as I start climbing up the cliff wall, dodging bullet after bullet, I know there rubber but its still terrifying nonetheless, I feel a bullet graze the right side of my head as i take cover underneath a rock outcrop, the bullets stop but one of them pulls out a radio and is about to call reinforcements.
I jump out from underneath the rock and start jumping wall to wall, using the momentum of the last jump to tackle the radio man, and I grab one of my head quills and hit the other guy before he can shoot me. I stand up and look around, and I duck into a nearby bush, barely missing a patrol that heard the gunshots, I look around, seeing that there is a tree that should be safe, with no one looking I run over and jump into the tree; I take a few deep breaths to calm myself, taking the moment to survey the area that I had ended up in, i saw a breathtaking view of a massive compound. it kinda reminded me of the city of ember from a human book… i stop myself from thinking about earth, though a stray thought passes before my mind, why did the humans get a planet while the puronians don't, anyways back to the task at hand.
I see that there is a possible opening over on the right wall, but there are guards posted over there while they're repairing it, and several cameras in the area, with some defensive turrets. I do notice though, an overhanging tree that no one had noticed yet, though there is a patrol over there, so I quietly grab a few of my head quills, and I patiently wait for the other patrol group to pass by.
Once they do, I quickly throw several quills into the humans beside the tree, I also make sure to take them out outside of the camera's view. The darkness was solid as I made my entrance, rushing to the tree, climbing up beyond the walls of the compound. The occasional fissile of a wall or tree revealed the structure of the actual training room, but those glimpses vanished quickly. The inside of the compound had several guards patrolling, they were on high alert with the gunshots that had gone off earlier, I decided to try a more risky maneuver, throwing quills from where I was at them, rushing over and hitting the cameras as well. The alarms began to blare as I barged into the central compound, quickly sliding down the stairs, the people inside were prepared to shoot but I was already throwing quills at them, and the thud of bodies paved my path, I quickly made my way to the objective room, it had a box inside, and I quickly badged in and grabbed it and begun to run, taking the corridor I had used to get in… though hearing the footsteps of the guards coming made me anxious, I quickly ducked into cover, waiting for them to go past, and they did… I quickly killed the commander, taking out threats behind me and then in front of me.
Hanging from one of their necks was a keycard, and I took it, quickly running for the door, and once I opened it, I didn't expect for there to be a hoard of humans in front of me, and I'm lit up with rubber bullets, making me fall backwards down the stairs "o-ow…" I manage as I see the training room go back to normal and my mom striding up to me… I was so going to get a scolding
