Chapter 24 - Chapter 22: Judgement Hour.

The hour of judgment had approached slowly for Taski; he entered the courtroom with courage and great fear. Mikado and Ariah gripped their arms tightly while Darcie and Drake watched from behind to avoid confrontation from anyone approaching the central hub. Sharaletta and her whole team were found sitting at the entrance, which was the back of the room. Sharaletta greeted Taski with a friendship hug. Sesakayla then asked him how everything went after waking up, "Honestly, I can't give a sure answer. However, I will say that I did have a bit of a muscle transformation, which is a positive thing to consider." He responded to her. Akaio then chimed in, examining the muscles that grew on him. She then explained to him, "Yo, I think your arm growth has something to do with your ability force experienced yesterday; your body has undergone terrific growth, I'll say." Tesakai and Toronto remained quiet, except to greet and handshake him only. Everyone else began slowly filling the room; the security guards stood behind the national flag to await the judge.

As minutes passed, King Diarmuid entered the room to explain to Taski his plan. "Listen closely, son; Odin will not be very merciful. You have to word your speech precisely and carefully; one mess-up can alter your chances of getting out of this. Tell the truth, the whole truth, and only the truth. Odin is great at noticing any falsehood. Please promise me you'll do this for us. The Mandelen's heritage rests in your hands now." Taski's heartbeats increased swiftly while his strength and courage also built up. He sat down next to Mikado and Ariah to wait for his call to the center plate, and Darice and Drake protected him further. As time passed, it was around 10:45 in the morning, and Judge Odin had finally made his appearance known to the entire room and the broadcasting stations. Judge Odin said, "Would Prince Taski Mandelen please step forward to the center." Taski then stood up; Mikado held on to him until his fingertip slid off her grip. He approached the plate slowly, his fear building up to his mouth as if he were preparing to barf. He then stood in the center, ready to face judgment.

Odin stared him down and said, "Taski Mandelen, you are being held on trial for your actions in the Knight's Exam from yesterday. You are being charged for attempting to take the life of Chris Deratea. In our Asalikan history, we have made the valve to never take away someone's life, depending on crime severity. We have these rules in place to keep our peace globally, and you have taken action to take away a life. I see the crime that Chris attempted to commit; however, you are the king's son, the prince of this land. There is no excuse for your behavior." He then continued speaking on the matter, and Taski's heart raced and pounded unnaturally. Judge Odin then ordered a witness, Darcie Mandelen, to step up to the chair. She approached the speaker's seat. She spoke about her eye account for five minutes, saying, "I witnessed this, even though I couldn't see how the fight began. I made the promise to stay with my brother and assist him. However, before I could see how things went down, Chris mentioned helping out my team members, and I can say that they didn't even need my help, as there wasn't anything happening between us and the Elden Knights at the moment. Chris spoke to me and told me I should help them out. I tell the honest-to-God truth when I say this: I was under some mind control when he spoke to me. That's how I couldn't help my brother out. Chris wanted to get me out of the scene so his fight with my brother could unfold. I could still feel the intense battle between the two. I'll even say that I heard some conversations, but only slightly. I heard what sounded like a peaceful speech from Taski. This is my account, Mr. Judge Odin."

The judge was against the idea of an ability like mind control being accurate; this made him irritated and unbelieving. Odin then makes a statement on his thoughts and belief toward an ability that is of Mind Control, saying, "As it has been debunked to the topic of one that could manipulate another's mind, I will state here, and now, I do not believe this nonsense of mind control. It has been disproven by our brilliant scientists. I will not buy into this made-up garbage; I need to see full proof of one being controlled." Darcie walks back into her seat in the audience, she looks toward Taski, and felt the great and terrible pain of leaving him with the judge, wishing she could interfere with it and rescue him. Darcie had placed herself back into her seat; then, out of nowhere, chains burst out of the panels behind Taski at the speed of a bullet. The chains attached to his wrist, chaining him up for his judgment to proceed forward. Mikado and Ariah then gasped loudly. Mikado nearly jumped out to halt it, but Darcie forced her back into her seat. "Mikado, No! You can't; you'll get us in trouble." Darcie whispered quickly to her.

Ariah covered her mouth, scared to death as to what would happen next. Judge Odin continued, "Taski Mandelen, your eyewitness, has spoken; I find much of what she spoke of to be a silly joke. Mind Control? You and your family must be idiotic to think I would buy into that lie. What is your statement on her account?" Taski fell to his knees, struggling to keep his posture up high. He wrestled to get any words out; he knew his moment was now. "I can say that I fully believe my sister in what she presented to everyone, and not because she is my sister. I believe her because I was there when it happened; Chris told her to leave to attend to the others." He said, struggling as he wrestled to continue speaking. "After he told her to leave, it was only me and him then. I tried to talk it out with him, however... I couldn't... get it... through to him. After that... Chris decided to engage in a fight with me, which I refused to fight back and only stuck with defense as my only way out." He finished speaking. Judge Odin then called forward Ariah Marylinn to the chair to give her account of the incident; she then walked forward to the chair and glanced into Taski's eyes as she passed him.

Tears attempted to leak from her eyes as she watched him struggle in pain from the chains. She then sat down in the chair to give her eye account. "As you know, I am a Healer. Healers are meant to stay further away from most of the action in battle; I was doing what was best for my teammates. I can detect their life energy through their ability force; I can spring forward and assist them in an emergency. My roses began detecting Taski's life force decaying away fast, so I rushed forward to his location while avoiding the surrounding destruction. Once I found his location, it was now or never for him. I stumbled upon Chris nearly impaling him in the back, I had to rush in to save him. Afterward, when I recovered Taski, Chris then grabbed my jacket and clothing and held me down. Also, Chris projected a force field barrier that kept Taski from saving me. There, Chris only boiled Taski's anger by doing certain things to me; he kissed me aggressively, only to tease Taski. To top it off, Chris then jabbed me in the face. I had a broken nose bone, as well as a damaged and out-of-place eye. I do not see Taski's anger being evil or for evil intentions. This is my account of this." Ariah then finished her speech, and Judge Odin only slightly believed her. She then steps down from the chair to return to her seat; staring back into the eyes of her close and interested, she says to him, "I did everything I could do to bail you out of this. I'm sorry if I should have said anything that was not spoken. My heart will continue for you; I will fight for you. My sweet and strong Knight."

She returns to her seat in the audience. Judge Odin cringes at her short message to him. Odin then moves into his final moment of the trial, "Taski Mandelen, your eyewitnesses have spoken; they have claimed that they believe your outburst was entirely understanding; however, I can say that I do not agree with this at all. You still took the chance to take the life of Chris Deratea, which still does not claim you as forgivable. Do you still have any final words? You are entitled to speak for five minutes." He said to Taski. After this, he wasted no time in his final stretch to attain innocence. "Judge Odin, you have to understand, I didn't intend this to happen. After I saw my friend injured by Chris, I immediately blacked out and lost myself. I would even say that I almost stopped breathing because I was struck to my heart, and my fury awakened at the sight of her pain. Please, you have to hear me out, Odin. I would never just attack or try to attempt murder against anyone like this; I experienced something that I didn't even know I had in me. I won't let this happen again, I swear." Taski continued speaking and giving the truth to the judge. Unfortunately, Odin leaned more toward claiming him guilty. "That's enough; you have had five minutes to speak." However, Taski finished speaking everything he wanted, which infuriated Odin. He then slammed his gavel down to silence him.

"That's Enough! I will not let this go on!" Odin yelled out loud. The crowd became concerned with this; some even clenched their seats. Mikado nearly had an anxiety attack watching all of this unfold before her eyes; Ariah shed tears while she sat back and couldn't do anything about it. "(Please... I can't... lose you. Not when we were going to grow together and even... start something together.)" Ariah cried to herself as she watched him. Judge Odin then announced his final verdict to the audience, "All Rise. Today, we have decided on Taski Mandelen's decision. With all the evidence and all the eyewitnesses giving their accounts. I, at this moment, pledge Mr. Prince, Taski Mandelen, guilty of all charges." Judge Odin then slams down his gavel one last time. Taski's heart sinks and stops, and all he can see happening to him is everything he worked hard for collapsing before him.
