"Seth O'Brian."
"Place of birth?"
"The Giant Island."
"Age?"
"Twenty years old."
'Twenty years old? That's it? Most of this group have lived much longer. He must not be strong, even if he is the most handsome.' Aria thought to herself, smelling the masculine scent coming from Seth.
The guild didn't require a bone age test for its new members. If they wanted to say they were more or less young, that was their problem.
The guild only kept this kind of information for the sake of order. Still, it was just a curiosity that didn't mean much for the operation of the guild.
This information, collected at the time of registration, didn't need to be verified and was usually only used when something went very wrong for a mercenary. For example, if a mercenary died on a mission, the guild could identify their hometown, locate their family, and return their body and belongings to the proper people.
A mercenary may be injured during a mission, and their team may need information that they may not be able to provide due to this person's situation. Such identification could also help in cases like this!
But if you decided to lie, it would be worse for you than for the guild.
Seth quickly answered several of the woman's questions, giving similar answers to the 19 people who had spoken to her before him.
'They all come from the same place, the same tribe... How strange, is that why they're so similar?' Aria wondered.
The people of the Giant Island weren't completely identical, but they had common characteristics and manners. The way they walked, their accents, and even their facial expressions when they were curious or thinking about something were very similar.
Aria was a born observer and paid attention to everything they showed in the brief moments they spent together.
But when she saw Seth, she couldn't help but be surprised when she finished collecting his data because he stood out from the rest.
Strangely, Seth didn't have a heavy accent and spoke as fluently as the natives of the Vridor Dynasty.
Seeing a great unknown in this person, Aria handed him a small card that seemed to be made of glass, completely blue.
Seth looked at the object and saw some of his information appear on one side of the card, where black letters and symbols displayed what he had just told Aria.
He followed her instructions and placed one of his hands on the object in the middle of the room, directly touching the shiny part of the hourglass.
As he did so, he felt an energy flow through his body and back into the glowing area, causing him to narrow his eyes and take a closer look at it, ignoring the glow to see what was there.
'It sent a burst of information into my body and received what I didn't absorb... Does it work like this?' Seth tilted his head to the side, showing an expression of curiosity.
"There he goes again..." Emery commented softly to Dax. "Seth can't help it if he gets curious."
"He'll end up stealing these people's strange technology." Another man in the group watched while he couldn't help but be curious about their leader's level.
"What are you talking about?" Kevin asked Dax and Atlas, who stood right next to him.
"It's no good to show Seth your technologies. He'll learn everything you have." Atlas muttered, remembering the day Seth had copied the skill of the tribe's third elder, an old man who had died ten years ago.
This elder's skill was known in the tribe as Analysis. With this skill, he could decipher any system, find weaknesses, find ways to improve, and even copy systems.
Unfortunately, the island didn't have much technology to copy or improve, so Seth and this elder rarely used their skills.
But Seth could use it to quickly understand anything, which some said was behind his great ability to have so many different powers.
Some of the tribe believed that until he copied the Third Elder's power, Seth could only use one power at a time, and there was a limit to the number of skills he could learn. To gain new abilities, he would have to give up others.
Because of this, he had earned the title of Copy Warrior from the members of his generation.
But after copying the Third Elder's skill, he stopped behaving like that and started to accumulate all the skills of the tribe, even being able to use them at the same time!
"What?" Kevin exclaimed when he heard Atlas, not expecting the ability of the leader of these people to be like that.
"You really are Sky People... High-ranking Sky People, by the way." He murmured after a moment of silence, seeing that these people wouldn't go into detail about Seth's abilities.
"High-ranking Sky People?" Dax repeated the words in a curious tone. "How are Sky People ranked?"
Several people looked at Kevin with the same doubt as Dax.
"Sky People are divided into seven levels. The first, the First Sphere, are people who have no abilities but are able to awaken their spiritual cultivation and learn techniques. The other six levels of Sky People don't consider such people to be their kind. But mortals do, so I won't say anything against it.
Most of us in Lastwood fall into that category. Or rather, most of the Sky People in Ihaes are mortals from the First Sphere.
Then there's the Second Sphere, which includes those with special warrior-level abilities.
Then there's the Third Sphere, with a special ability of Holy rank, and the Fourth Sphere, with a special ability of Divine rank.
Above that is the Fifth Sphere, but the classification is more complex from there. A person at that level can have one or two abilities, but the strongest has to be at least Divine.
From there, I don't even know what the ranking is, but it's a fact that the ranking ends at the Seventh Sphere."
That wasn't a good explanation, so Dax was naturally confused. "At least Divine level? Are there levels higher than Divine?"
"That's right. When someone is born with more than one ability, one of their powers is stronger than the other. They're not equal. So some scholars give different classifications to the degree of power of the strongest ability of such a person." Kevin said what he knew.
"Does this hierarchy serve any purpose?" Moses asked.
He understood that specific nomenclatures were used to make it easier to distinguish between groups, but he wanted to know if there was more to it, perhaps a clue to their persecution.
Even though he had been unhappy with some things about the tribe since the group's arrival on the continent, Moses had still lost some old friends that he wanted to avenge!
Kevin looked at the scariest of the group and replied. "Yes, there are places, even states, that you cannot enter unless you have the status of a Sixth Sphere person or are accompanied by one.
The classification of Sky People also specifies the limits for each person. Anyway, it's pretty important."
"Is there any way we can check it?"
"Not here." He turned his face to the other person. "Only in the Lost Temple can you get this kind of data and the corresponding identification." As Kevin said this, Seth finally saw his level appear on his ID, but he wasn't surprised.
{Soul Level: +++ 9-star Spirit Lake Realm}
'As expected... This machine and its poor structural quality couldn't analyze me.' Seth thought, imagining it was the same for everyone in his group.
Not least because no one there was talking about their levels, and they were more interested in hearing what Kevin could teach them about the Sky People.
"So what now? What do we do, Seth?" Elder Jothan asked.
