"I could tell you who I once was - a normal teenager, average as they come. I had a couple of good friends, wasn't the best in school, and was pretty standard in sports. My only true talent, I would say, was my knowledge in history; it was the only class where, with minimum effort, I always got good grades. Well, basically, I died. I don't know how, but I died. And as I speak to you, I'm sitting face to face with a man in an all-black suit in an all-white room."
"Well, it seems you are one lucky bastard, or not; we have yet to see," said the man in the all-black suit. Now that I looked at him, he kind of reminds me of Lucifer from the Netflix show."
"Like the face? Chooses it for you. I heard Lucifer was one of your favorite shows."
I wonder how he knows this, but honestly, with the amount of garbage fanfic that I read at one point, I can guess what's going here.
"So, you're ROB or something like that?"
"Maybe or not. Doesn't matter. The difference in existence between you and me is so vast that quantifying it would make your head explode, so whether I'm GOD, a God, ROB, or even the Devil, it wouldn't matter in the long run."
Guess whatever he is is way beyond my sphere of action. Just hope he isn't some evil being or something because if he is, there's not much I can do.
"Well, now that we are past who I am, it's time to get to business." That doesn't sound ominous at all, I thought to myself.
"Stop worrying; this is actually good for you. In fact, you probably have become one of the luckiest persons in the world as we speak. You probably already know what's about to happen."
At least I'll get some wishes if he implies what I think he's implying.
"So, where am I going to get reincarnated? I beg you, don't send me to some harem shopping world. I hate those."
One of the reasons why I stopped reading fanfic was this unhealthy and unrealistic obsession with harems. Half the writers had it in fanfics, and it was just too much, especially those very dark ones. That misunderstands me; I have nothing against polygamy and such. Just the way fanfics write them is just wrong.
"Don't worry. I had no intention of sending you to a harem world. I have the same opinion as you. I find the main character quite pathetic. In fact, I have no intentions of sending you to some fictional world. I think it's overacted and all."
"If you're not gonna send me to a fictional world, where will you send me, then?" Perhaps he plans on sending me to some Isekai kind world where I have no knowledge of it. Honestly, I would be alright with that.
"You may not know, but I have been following you for quite some time. Overall, you're a pretty average kid, nothing spectacular, except your knowledge of all kinds of history across the world, from South America to Asia, and especially your knowledge of Africa, which I dare say you were among the most knowledgeable people when it came to Africa."
The fact that he has been observing probably means that he is most likely responsible for my death. Now that I think about it, I have been taking all this pretty calmly. I mean, I just died and I will never see my family or friends again, which I'm most likely sure is that person's fault. Despite this, I'm not feeling much.
"Why don't I feel any emotion?"
"Wondered when you would realize. Let's just say that I locked your emotions for the time being. When you leave here, it will all come. Dealing with the last person before you was a pain in the ass, so I decided to just lock your emotions for the time being until we're done."
Guess it makes sense. If I had my emotions now, this conversation would have happened differently.
"Ok, back to why you're here. You see, the knowledge you have on history and especially in Africa, in my opinion, is being wasted by you living in the modern world. With the knowledge you have, if you had been placed a few hundred years in the past, you would, without a doubt, have a lot of opportunities. So, instead of sending you to a fictional world, why don't I send you to a very similar world you lived but in the past and with your interest in Africa, why not?"
Africa, huh? Why do I know so much about Africa? Well, I'm half Ivorian and half American. I always thought that Africa had so much potential, but unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to explore it.
"I would send you to Africa two hundred years before Africa was truly discovered."
"Not that I'm not interested, but even with my fantastic knowledge of Africa, I doubt that I'll live or create something that resists what would happen to Africa, as there's just too much problems to take care of."
"Of course you wouldn't. You'd die before creating anything significant. Even with your knowledge of Africa, let's not forget that the past was vastly different than anything in the modern ages. If I sent you as you are now, you'd probably get killed by a tribe or eaten by a lion or anything in between. That is why, like every reincarnated, I will give you wishes. Five to be exact. But nothing crazy like some reincarnated protagonist have, and make sure to word your wish correctly. Any questions?"
"Yeah, a couple actually. First, am I getting reincarnated or transmigrated? And does my location and family have to be used in my wishes? And finally, how different will that world be from my old world's history?"
"Good question. First, you will get reincarnated, and your memories will come when you're four years old. For your location and family, I have already chosen. No need to worry. And finally, for the setting of the world, it will be very similar, but your presence will change the world a lot."
"Oh, and since I kind of like you, heads up, there may be some supernatural elements. Nothing crazy, just some mystery, which your old world had and were never really proven or something like that. Enough, you have wishes. Choose well."
Ok, so I have to make the best of these wishes. I'll be sent hundreds of years in the past to one of the most mysterious continents, with the possible addition of supernatural elements.
"For my first wish, I wish to be
