Chereads / Lord Klaus’ Fated Vampire Mate / Chapter 38 - Gruesome Fight

Chapter 38 - Gruesome Fight

Klaus's POV

"I know you're mad but let me explain," I said as the woman grabbed a sword hanging on the wall, heading for the man before I stepped in between them.

"You can't kill him. He still is a soldier."

"He's the reason I'm without powers."

"And I understand that. That is why I want you to be calm. I don't want you mad and doing something that you would regret later on."

"Oh I would not regret killing him. He's going to regret doing that to me,"

"That's why he's here," I said slowly, taking the sword from her possession as the two of them locked eyes.

The man was visibly scared of her and she was too mad to be at peace with my words.

"How about the both of you get into the ring?" I said, taking the woman to the ring while telling Gail to take the man towards another route to the ring or we would risk them fighting without even starting the fight.

"Sir, what is going on?" Whispered Gail but I waved him forward and started for the ring.

"He's still a vampire," she growled in a whisper. "How am I supposed to defeat someone already stronger and faster than me?"

"I had his fangs removed," I said, which had her looking at me in shock. "I had to punish the guards who did that to you and I wanted to show you that I am not a terrible man."

She got into the ring, looking at the man who had a rough face with cuts that didn't heal as I settled away from the ring watching them go around each other.

I found some of the guards sneaking into the hall as I shook my head but let them stay in.

They wanted to see this strange woman take on one of the guards and win.

It wouldn't be an easy fight as they both had grudges against each other.

She had grudges against the man for taking her fangs and he had the same against her because I took his fangs away due to what he did to her.

A win-win situation in my book.

"Gail, would you do me the honors?" I asked as he nodded, standing to his feet with the crowd getting rowdy.

"Let the fight begin!" I yelled with the two of them closing their fists in anger.

In the grand arena, the raucous crowd filled the air with enthusiastic cheers and thunderous applause as two humans prepared to engage in a titanic battle.

This was unlike the battles I had here. Only vampires were allowed to fight here but they were both vampires before they became powerless.

The atmosphere was electric, anticipation crackling like electricity as the spectators eagerly awaited the clash of these extraordinary combatants.

I knew the warrior would win but if I called her weak I would be dead with her insults. This was me proving that she was still no match for a fellow human of her caliber.

I just hoped she would get the gist.

On one side of the ring stood the guard, a towering figure whose muscles rippled with human strength. His skin glistened with a faint silver sheen from his sweat, a testament to his enhanced abilities which was totally gone but I was sure he could still hold out in this battle.

Across from him stood Mara. She was a lithe and agile warrior I hoped or she would be dead before I would intervene.

As the bell rang and Gail yelled for the fight to commence, the fight began with explosive energy.

Atlas the guard charged forward, his colossal fists ready to unleash devastating blows, while Mara surprisingly evaded with speed, her movements a dance of evasion and counterattacks. The crowd erupted in awe at the sheer display of power and finesse that humans could have.

Gail came to sit by my side as I looked at him with raised brow.

He was shocked too.

"Are you sure she's powerless?" He asked as I shrugged. I had no idea how she could move that fast.

She wasn't vampire fast but she was faster than the humans I had encountered during my years.

With each exchange, the ring shook beneath their fight. The sound of bone-crushing impacts reverberated through the arena, punctuated by gasps and cheers from the crowd who were fascinated by the battle.

Atlas threw punches that could shatter concrete if he were a vampire, while Mara weaved around him, striking with pinpoint precision and agility at his underarm and his jaw.

She moved like a natural, impressing me with her moves. This was something I had not known was possible.

The crowd was captivated, witnessing a clash of former vampires that pushed the boundaries of what mortal beings could comprehend. Every maneuver, every display of strength and skill, was met with roaring applause and excited chants.

Atlas and Mara, fueled by their competitive spirit and a desire to prove their rage towards each other, pushed themselves to the limit.

They exchanged blows with such rage that I started to hear bones crunching but in all of this, Mara was okay and unharmed. Even as a human she was really strong.

As the fight progressed, the combatants showcased their unique abilities. Atlas summoned the strength he had within him which he trusted in, delivering mighty blows that threatened to kill the woman if he ever landed a hit on her.

Mara, on the other hand, revealed her agility and her ability to evade punches, executing acrobatic maneuvers that seemed to defy gravity.

She truly wasn't when she had said she could take on anyone as a vampire. Now I wished she was still a vampire so I would see how she fought and how powerful she was.

The battle raged on, each moment intensifying the crowd's excitement.

Gail turned back a couple of times to wave everyone to settle down but they didn't listen.

And why would they? Mara was raging like a warrior in the field.
