"I'll find out what happened to her," Victor said, wanting to prove himself useful to Ian. He had to make up for all the times that he caused Ian to be punished by his mother. "If I can find out what happened to her, is there a chance that we can try to be brothers?"
Victor wasn't ready to give up on their relationship becoming better. They could become close outside of the estate. Ian didn't have any relatives other than his mother so Victor had to be near so Ian would not be alone.
Ian didn't answer as he wasn't certain about them ever being close in the future. Instead, he asked, "How much do you love your mother?"
Victor didn't understand why he needed to answer this question."I love her a lot. I know that she has her moments of being bad but I can't help loving her. She's my mother."
