1. Clive Rosfield :

The firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria. Though all expected him to inherit the Phoenix's flames and awaken as its Dominant, destiny instead chose his younger brother Joshua to bear this burden. In search of a role of his own, Clive dedicated himself to mastering the blade. His practice pays off when, at just fifteen years of age, he wins the ducal tournament and is dubbed the First Shield of Rosaria—tasked to guard the Phoenix and blessed with the ability to wield a part of his fire. Alas, Clive's promising career is to end in tragedy at the hands of a mysterious dark Eikon, Ifrit, setting him on a dangerous road to revenge.

2. Anabella Rosfield

Duchess of Roasria and mother to Clive and Joshua. A cunning and cruel women, Anabella was born into a high noble family that often married into the ruling House Rosfield, leading her family to be credited in breeding many Dominants for the duchy. As part of an arranged marriage, Anabella married Elwin Rosfield, becoming duchess and birthed two sons.

Anabella ultimately decided to defect from Rosaria to the Holy Empire of Sanbreque, under the condition that she and Joshua be spared and be granted a high place in the world Sylvestre Lesage intended to create.

3. Joshua Rosfield

The second son of the Archduke of Rosaria and Clive's younger brother by five years. Joshua awoke as the Dominant of the Phoenix soon after his birth. Despite his noble upbringing, Joshua treats all his father's subjects with warmth and affection—none more so than Clive, whom he deeply admires. Joshua often laments that it was he, the frail and bookish younger son, who was granted command of the firebird's flames, and not his stronger, braver brother. While Clive will gladly throw himself into any danger, Joshua quails at the sight of a carrot on his dinner plate. But carrots become the least of his concern when he, too, is swept up into the tragic events that change Clive's life forever.

4. Elwin Rosfield

Elwin was born as the first son of the previous Duke of the Rosaria, the former Dominant of the Phoenix. When he was young, he also gained a younger brother, Byron. To ensure that the Phoenix would remain within to ducal bloodline, Elwin got into an arranged marriage with his own cousin, Anabella, that resulted in the couple giving birth to two sons, Clive and Joshua.

Elwin Rosfield is a kind, fair, humble and open-minded ruler of Rosaria who excelled in both literary and military arts. Unlike Anabella, his wife, Elwin does not take too much pride in his royal status or lineage which could be rooted in how his own father died before his time, leaving him to inherit the throne without even becoming the Phoenix's Dominant.

6. Julia

Not much is not about Julia besides the fact that she is orginaly not from Valisthea. She is from a distant planet near Metia. She is smart cunning and can be a very helpful ally or deadly foe. She works and studies at a Scholae in in Port Isolde and Her dedication and brilliance are undeniable, placing her among the institution's most exceptional students.

7. Sylvestre Lesage

Sylvestre Lesage is the Emperor of Sanbreque, the second husband of Anabella Rosfield and the father of Dion. Though once regarded as a kind, wise and caring ruler who took the charge in protecting his people seriously, the lack of options regarding the Blight creeping onto Sanbreque and most likely, his marriage to Anabella Rosfield caused a dark change in the Emperor. This led to a number of betrayals, such as with Rosaria at Phoenix Gate. As a result of Anabella's toxic influence, instilling him her myopic obsession with elitism and lineage, Sylvestre has become apathetic, power-hungry and tyrannical. Sylvestre began to have the deluded ambition of having the Sanbreque standard hang across the world, unconcerned of the costs such a campaign would have on their people, stating they can merely rebuild their losses. However, this left him more and more susceptible to Anabella's suggestions. Yet, like Anabella, he failed to take into account how popular and beloved Dion was with the people and how much umbrage Dion could take in allowing Anabella to manipulate him.
