Chapter 17 - Scorch Sanctuary [1]

After sliding that rock to the side, Arya saw the entrance of the cave.

Soon Arya entered the cave and started heading inside.

[You have entered the dungeon 'Scorch Sanctuary'.]

After listening to the announcement, Arya confirmed the name to be same as that mentioned in the book.

The entrance was around 7 feet, both in height and width, but the more he entered the cave, the larger it grew.

Soon the cave was more than 12 feet in height and 15 feet in width. Then it didn't increase.

A while later, Arya came face to face with his first adversary.

A beast with a smaller stature than Arya, 'Chimscorch' a beast that had similar characteristics as a monkey, but it had reddish-brown fur, and a fire was on the tip of its tail.

As soon as Chimscorch noticed Arya, he lunged forward to attack him.

He was very agile with his small stature, as he attacked Arya, his fist formed a cloak of fire on it.

'Primary Tantra: Flame Fist.'

This is the primary tantra of these creatures, and as the name suggests, it allows the user to cloak their fist in a fire.

And allow one to use a firey fist, just as the beast was about to attack him, Arya jumped sideways and turned towards the beast who just passed his previous position.

And did a vertical strike.

*Kuch*

And the tail of the beast fell down.

When Arya noticed the beast at the start, he started filling his spear with his Jiva, to attack the beast.

After using the attack many times in the fights he had before and the training he did in the last five days.

He was now able to control his Jiva actively and easily and he can now also control the output of the Jiva a more smoothly, as he didn't want to pour all of his Jiva into the spear.

If he did that, he would have to leave the cave and would have come later.

Because if loses all of his energy, he won't be able to fight.

And as he cut off the tail, the beast died just by cutting its tail.

Yes, the tail. It was the weak point of these chimscorchs, as this fire at the end of their tail represents its life force.

As Arya cut the tail, he also cut off the beast's life force, Which causes it to die.

Arya after killing the beast, decided to move forward, but with more caution.

He knew he was strong enough to defeat a single chimscorch, but what about when they were more in number and attacked together?

From the information from the book. He knew The Chimscorch race lives in a packs, and the one he just killed must be a young member who must be wondering around.

And also as he when attacked Arya, he did so without even protecting his tail.

....

Arya now realizes that the book is very special.

'First time it's fluke, second time it's coincidence, but third time it's fact'.

First, the Phase was the same as the trial, then the location of the cave, now even the beasts are same

So, it means the reward will also be the same.'

Arya thought about all this while walking, but he didn't let his guard down, even for a second just because he knew their tantra and their weakness.

He just knows about them, but has no experience in fighting them.

The Only one he even defeated was just a young inexperienced member of the race.

So if he is not careful, he can very well lose his life.

As he moved forward, he soon noticed some chimscorchs in a distance, but this time, it was not a single one.

They were a group of five chimscorch.

As soon he saw them, Arya moved to the side to take cover and started thinking about the best way to deal with them.

...

Arya jumped to the center of the path stomped his spear and created a loud sound that attracted the chimscorchs.

*Thumpp!!*

Another notable thing was, the Spears tip had a little golden brown glow.

The chimscorch who were attracted by the sound noticed Arya, and saw the intruder who somehow was able to enter their sanctuary.

They acted fast and lunged towards him to kill him.

As this is a basic triat of every race, to kill any intruders that enter their home.

The beasts then sprinted towards Arya, and activated their tantra, as they clocked their fist in fire.

As they were running towards him, he noticed that two of the five chimscorch have their tail, coiled around their waist.

He understood there are old beasts, who subconsciously had their tail or their life force secured.

Even Though these Chimscorch were covered in their reddish-brown fur, their fur didn't get on fire, neither from their tail nor from their fist.

Arya, as soon the two old beasts reached him spun his spear in a clockwise direction.

Using it as a bat and hitting a ball.

He used all his power and threw those towards the wall, and they crashed into the wall.

Watching their leader thrown away, the three younglings became shocked.

Arya, when thinking about how to defeat these five beasts, thought of this plan, to throw the old one, who would be the first one to attack him. Due to their greater power.

And when he throws these old one away, that young inexperienced one will get distracted for sure, and he will then kill them easily before the old one gets up.

And that's what happened as all three of the younglings became shocked. Due to sudden situation.

Arya who expected, such situations acted fast and moved swiftly towards the beasts, and bisected the tail of two chimscorch who were near him.

But before Arya could attack the third one, the two old chimscorch saved him.

Seeing two members of their team dying, they got very angry.

*Cheeeeeeeeeee!!!!*

*Cheeeeeeeeeee!!!!*

They both screamed at Arya and just wanted to tear him to pieces.

They then ordered the third remaining member of their team to move backward and not interfere in the fight, as they were going to attack relentlessly.

Arya expecting that these two would attack relentlessly, without even thinking about their life, held his spear in a weird stance.

As he holds the spear from a quarter ahead of the middle of the spear with one hand while he holds the end of the spear with the other.

He then bent his knees a little and readied his stance.

Just as the beasts with their firey fist lunged at him, he pressed the spear with the hand at the end and attacked only one of them, and the tip of the spear to embedded in the stomach of one of the Chimscorch.

Though he wounded one of the Chimscorch in the meantime, the other beast reached him and punched him in his solar plexus.

*Boom*

*Huffff*

That one attack caused all the air in his lungs to come out, but he gritted his teeth and hold on.

And placed one of his legs in the back and using that attack's momentum, he rotated his spear which was inside one of the chimscorch, and the ceast to moved with it.

Arya then made the two beasts crash into one another and made them stumble on the ground.

Though he got hurt due to that punch, he knew this was the best time to kill the beasts.

So he lunged and pulled his spear over his head and embedded his spear into one of the beasts at the tailbone, and killed it.

Arya then threw the dead body of that beast with his spear and was about to attack the second beast.

The beast tried to move, which he was able to, but alas.

He was still in Arya's range, and he attacked.

During this whole ordeal, Arya was flowing his Jiva into the spear.

That is also the reason, he was able to Peirce these beasts.

Just as he was about to kill the second beast, the third one who was asked to stay back.

Jumped in front of the spear, and saved the old Beast that was about to die.

Both Arya and that old Chimscorch were shocked at the sacrifice of this little one.

Arya though shaken from inside, knew this was not the time.

Revolved on his one leg and kicked the old Chimscorch in the jaw. As his spear was in the third member.

Before the beast could even process anything, another kick hit him.

But this time it was Arya's heel as he attacked on the head.

Noticing that the beast is not in the right mind to defend, he plunges his spear into his head and kills him.

Even though their life force is in that fire, doesn't mean that's the only way to kill them.

Just as Arya killed all five of these beasts.

He fell to the ground and started breathing heavily.

This was not just due to the fight or his injuries.

In his mind, the scene of the young chimscorch sacrificing himself was playing.
