In a very wide grooming room where you can see the accent of a roman style of interior design, there he is - Christoph Juan Barrozo slightly sitting on his windowsill while sipping on his cup of wine, blankly staring on the woman getting out of a car whom his parents set him up to marry next week.
Pannah Jane Allegre, the unica hija of the Allegres. A very decent woman, has great integrity and a very well known woman in fashion industry. Though having this kind of fame, she has never been the typical spoiled brat bitch who came from a very rich family.
It is the 28th of August 2023 today, it is the day she'll meet the man her parents set her up to marry next week. Yes, it's Christoph. However, both of them doesn't like the idea of arrange marriage especially Pannah who currently has a secret lover. Pannah is trying to think of a plan where she can convince Christoph to stop the marriage, little did she know that Christoph thought of a plan already.
An elegant woman who's in her fifties knocked on the open door and approached Christoph who is still staring intently on Pannah. It was the Barrozo's first lady - Luzzie Hane Barrozo.
"Hi hun, what do you think of Pannah? Isn't she great?" happily says his mom while softly rubbing his shoulder.
"Yeah?" he blankly answered to his mom in a mocking tone.
"You're going to love her, son. Just you wait.", says his mom seriously then suddenly smirked as if suddenly had thought of a plan to make Christoph love Pannah.
"I see." He stands up and put his cup on the bedside table then got out of the room while waving his hand to his mom.
Luzzie got excited without her knowing that Christoph already had a plan to oppose his parents' decision of the arrange marriage.
They all gathered in the dining room of the Barrozo's mansion. The dining table is an oval shaped table where on both end sits the heads the of the two family meeting together for Christoph and Pannah's future marriage.
The Barrozo's are Peter Juan Barrozo (Christop's dad), Luzzie Hane Barrozo (his mom), Marl Bran Barrozo (the eldest), Nicky Allie Barrozo (the second child), Carmie Dane Barrozo (Christoph's twin sister), lastly, Thania Faith Barrozo (the youngest).
They sat in an orderly manner while sitting next to them are the Allegre's who are, Allan James Allegre (the father), Jamie Jane Allegre (the mom) and lastly Pannah Jane Allegre (the unica hija).
The Barrozo's set of maids served the 5 courses of dishes on the table and as they began to eat, Christoph's dad - Peter, began talking to Pannah as to how she likes the ambiance of their mansion.
"Do you like flowers, dear?" Peter asked nicely.
"I do, Mr. Barrozo. However, I am allergic to pollens that's why I only touched the artificial ones and just enjoy the real ones by eyes." Pannah answered gracefully as she elegantly ate her food.
"Oh I see! Take note of that Christoph, my son!", everyone suddenly heard Christoph sighed heavily.
"Is there something wrong with your son, Mr. Barrozo?", asked Mrs. Allegre.
Christoph looked at them questionably, he did not noticed that he's been thinking deeply of something that his thought flew away from the reality.
He slightly bowed in apology to the Allegres.
"Apologies, I just thought of something. Nevertheless, please enjoy your food Mr. and Mrs. Allegre. You as well, Ms. Jane."
Everyone except Pannah and Christoph smiled in excitement for the two meeting each other in person for the first time.
They devoured the food while talking about the two of them getting married next week. Pannah can't wait for the moment for them to stop talking about it, she feels as if she is cheating with his boyfriend.
As they were done with the dinner, the Barrozos invited the Allegres in the living room to finally talk casually about the wedding of century.
"So, Pannah dear. How do you feel about Christoph?" Luzzie asked her while holding her hands.
When Pannah's about to answer, Christoph respectfully interrupted the talk.
"Excuse me everyone. I have an announcement to make!" seriously says Christoph.
"What is it son?" asked Peter.
Christoph stand to finally tell them his plan. He is known as a good son and a good brother to his siblings. His parents can't think of any reason to disown their son.
"I intend not to...." he hesitantly says as everyone is focused on waiting what he is about to announce.
He scanned his eyes to everyone's faces, they looked curious and as if asking him what he is about to say. He thought it might be the good thing to do for he knows the truth about Pannah having a relationship with another man.
"I intend not to accept this marriage!" he says looking straight at Pannah who felt shocked and then felt relieved the next second when she realized what Christoph said.
"Wha-what?" Peter said in disbelief.
"What...what is this? What is happening? Peter?" asked Mr. Allegre seeking for an answer as to why Christoph suddenly announced such.
"Christoph, son. What are you talking you about? Allan, my friend. I am so sorry for this." Peter apologized to the Allegres. When Christoph's about to talk, Pannah said something that made Jamie - Pannah's mom collapsed in disbelief.
"I agree with Christoph, Mr. and Mrs. Barrozo. Mom, Dad, I also don't agree with this arranged marriage. I have a boyfriend and I am pregnant. 3 weeks."
"WHAT?" Jamie said then collapsed.
Everyone panicked and attended Mrs. Allegre, Luzzie then called their family doctor to check on Jamie.
"I am so sorry, Mr. Barrozo. I think we need to resume our family meeting tomorrow. Let's meet at your office if that's alright with you?" Allan asked Peter and he agreed with it.
They bid goodbye with each other and the Allegre left the Barrozo's mansion. Everyone was silent until Thania, the youngest child talked.
"Well, it's a good thing though. I've been hearing words from my friends in school that the Allegre Corp. is dying. I don't mind associating our family with them since they're famous but they're gonna be penniless."
"What? Is that true Peter? Is that why you convinced to marry our son off to their daughter? So you could help Jamie? Don't tell me you're still inlove with her? I can't believe this. Everyone go to your rooms." Luzzie exploded in anger to Peter.
"Why do you have to say that infront of mom, Thania?" Marl Bran - the eldest son scolded Thania.
"Why? What's wrong?" Thania asked innocently.
"You knew Mrs. Allegre was Dad's ex-lover in middle school, Faith." Christoph added that made Thania rolled her eyes.
"Don't call me with that name onii-chan." Thania growled in disgust. She really hated that name. As she said, it's grossed. Only Christoph's the brave one to call her that.
"Let's go, Thania. We have to make our nails done tomorrow. " Nicky Alie said and Thania tagged along with her to their room. Yes, the two of them sleep on the same room. They're the closest.
Yes, they're the Barrozo.
Meanwhile, as the Allegres traverse their way home, everyone fell silent. When they reached their mansion, Jamie shrieked and shouted on Pannah.
"What were you thinking? Who is the father of that child? Are you insane? Who is that fool man trying to destroy your future?
"My future mom? or would you rather say YOUR future. You think I didn't know about dad's company going downhill? I'm leaving." Pannah shouted back losing her temper while her dad is just silently listening to them.
"Pannah, dear..." Jamie ran after her daughter while Allan sat on the living room thinking of ways to resolve their family issue.
