I exhaled helplessly. "Even though I said I would bring food for Melania, here I don't have a single mora."
After that, I looked around for William. I often felt the gazes of the Treasure Hoarders who squinted at me.
Some were peeking from behind tree trunks. Half of them were much bolder, they frankly came face to face with me.
However, to be honest I just pretended to be indifferent to that. Although I was actually quite disturbed.
I've also asked the Treasure Hoarders many times about William who hasn't been seen since before.
Where did he go?
When?
And why?
There was nothing special about their answers.
Instead of answers that made me happy, they shook their heads.
It was really annoying.
Perhaps William went somewhere without telling anyone about his destination.
But isn't that strange? Shouldn't he be watching over Amelia?
That mysterious woman, who was guarding her?
Have I been there? Of course I did.
I definitely went to Amelia's place first. Because after all the first time I met William was near Amelia.
However, the time I arrived there. It wasn't William who was guarding. It was someone else.
When I asked that person, his answer was similar to the previous one.
He said he didn't know.
Where did you go William?
I wanted to ask you a question.
The more you walk away from the question the more suspicious it looks to me.
While mumbling and joking, I shook my head with my eyes closed.
Then, my eyes opened.
The wind hit my cheeks rather strongly. My steps stopped instantly, as if time in the world had stood still.
Only a gust of wind waved.
I came face to face with the boss.
He squinted.
Why is the boss here?
I tried to remain calm as I put on a smile. I tilted my head in wonder, wondering at the boss who was frozen in front of me.
It occurred to me that someone, or even more than one person had reported to the boss, saying I was looking for William.
And, that was why the boss was there.
He wanted to say something to me?
Of course, this was just an assumption.
If my assumption was wrong, my guess would only reach the point: I would end up dead.
"Are you looking for William?" the boss asked, coldly.
I nodded as a short reply.
"Do you know where he went, boss?"
Boss shook his head.
"What for?" the boss asked. It was like he was trying to figure out why I was meeting William.
I froze in silence.
How was I going to tell him?
I wasn't prepared to be asked by the boss!
Should I tell the truth here?
Dripping with sweat, I swallowed. Said, "Amelia. I wanted to ask if it was time for me to replace her on guard duty."
After that perfunctory answer came out of my lying mouth, the atmosphere around me and the boss suddenly cooled down. A strong wind whispered. And I still didn't say anything.
I was scared enough to step away from here.
The boss continued to stare at me, not saying a word since I told him my reason.
Please save me!
Then, like my prayers were answered when I muttered that, the boss turned around and left the place.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
I had survived death again.
Dejavu!
Despite watching the boss enter the tent, I remained cautious and kept an eye on the tent for a few minutes.
However, the longer I waited, the more tired I became.
Since I didn't find William here, I lost the purpose of staying any longer.
After this, I will go to Katheryne.
Hopefully, there I'll find a quest that I can be proud of for earning hard-earned money.
"Looking back, I haven't even experienced any events that are truly adventurous like the normal characters in this game."
"Robbing or stealing, sneaking into people's houses and sneaking around like a thief, becoming a member of the Treasure Hoarders, seeing women being raped, memory loss, pretending to be a detective, interrogating, etc.
"This... I haven't done normal things at all! Even the protagonist originally became an adventurer ...."
However, by the time I continued, I paused for an instant. I remembered something. Then, shook my head. "Forget it, the protagonist's difficulties are worse than mine.
"He was told to fight the dragon no matter what."
Now, the question is, how do I get a weapon?
I can't let go of the possibility that the next quest I get is a battle and requires me to fight.
The revolver I got had one bullet left.
Also, I didn't have the mora to buy swords, spears, axes, and more.
I didn't want to get hung up on Vision as much as possible. What negative effects would I get if I used it over and over again? No one knows.
I could ask Charlotte about the negative effects of constantly using Vision. However, I guessed that she rarely used her Vision ability. That answer wouldn't help me at all.
After all, my Vision is my ace in the hole.
I exhaled at this cruel fate.
Only the rich, who have money, deserve to rule.

Sorry for the late update, for the next chapter we will start a truly adventurous adventure. We will take a break from dark and grey stories. I will focus on the protagonist to improve his good side first.
Why am I late with updates? I've been too lazy lately 🧢🧢🧢
Also, I recently reread Lord of Mysteries so I forgot to update. I'm really sorry.
for the next week, I will update 3x per week.
I need your advice: should I stop calling him boss and just call him by name, or what?
please reply with a comment so that I can calculate which side agrees to keep calling him boss or call him by name.
Please throw a power stone to keep me motivated!
