Chereads / Genshin Impact: I'll Subdue Raiden Shogun No Matter What / Chapter 13 - Ch. 13: Split Personality

Chapter 13 - Ch. 13: Split Personality

Split Personality? Seriously... I never knew there was such a skill before. I tilted my head. What kind of skill is this?

After questioning myself, I immediately checked the menu on the system: skills.

My eyes widened instantly.

[ACTIVE SKILL]

-

[PASSIVE SKILL]

- Split Personality: Epic Rarity (Permanent)

The "Split Personality" skill is an ability that allows the user to switch between two different personalities in an unpredictable time. When using this skill, the user will feel a sudden change in their character, attitude, and behavior, like having two conflicting sides to themselves. In addition, the use of this skill can drastically increase stats by up to 5x.

I read that description from top to bottom seriously. This was a terrible skill!

I might suddenly become not myself. Moreover, the effect is permanent!

How could that be...

What if I do that with Ei, I suddenly change personalities... wouldn't that be the same as me not doing that?!

This is unfair!

Let's say that if there's a downside, there's also a upside. The description says that my stats will increase by 5x. If my stats are more than one, I'm honestly pretty strong, right?

However, I'm quite worried... someone as evil as me must have a weirder personality!

My eyes felt stiff, everything was empty. I tried to find the bright side in the darkness of this situation, but I lost further and further.

I let out a tired sigh. I felt like a wave of despair had managed to fill every fiber of my body, crushing me with an undeniable force. My body longs for a soft bed.

It's still the middle of the day. I'll sleep first and go to the Treasure Hoarders headquarters when it's afternoon.

Twilight beams caressed my face as I stood in the doorway, ready to step out to the Treasure Hoarders' gathering place.

The evening air was cool and crisp, breathing life into my heaving chest.

The fragrant scent of wet soil and leaves danced in the air, embracing me with soothing warmth.

Enjoying the scenery made me forget about everything.

That's right, I forgot to confirm the Vision Electro I got recently. However, it seems that I don't need to check it either. I already got a rough idea of this ability when I fought that couple.

Not forgetting also from the memories when I was in the room, spending time playing Genshin Impact until I forgot to touch the grass. At least I understand Vision's ability.

Vision Electro huh... the same element as Ei. My lips curled. I wonder what would happen if Ei and I combined these elements.

We'll bring down Celestia!

Oops... looks like I have to be careful, there's a theory that Vision is not an elemental conductor, but Celestia's eyes. "They" observe the human's actions through Vision.

With steady steps and a heart full of enthusiasm, I stepped out of the inn towards the place where the Treasure Hoarders gathered last time.

This afternoon I didn't check the requests in the Adventurer's Guild. After all, I hadn't completed the previous request either.

I've been too busy lately. However, I was still given enough time to rest.

While being grateful about that, I sighed.

After a long journey, I finally arrived at the previous gathering place.

The boss wasn't there. Where did he go?! I looked around. The boss? Completely disappeared.

However, I saw the Treasure Hoarders who pretended to be dead and ran away... I really wanted to shout and curse at them. However, seeing their depressed faces as if they were about to commit suicide made me reluctant to do that even if I was joking.

While walking past these depressed people, I found William sitting pitifully on a rock, all alone.

I approached him. Waved my hand.

William turned around without answering my greeting. Then, he looked down again.

What was going on?

Sitting next to him. I also fell silent. How the hell do you start a conversation with a depressed person like this?!

William opened his mouth. "18 people,"

"Yes?" I tilted my head. Why did he suddenly start talking? I don't understand this guy's thoughts at all.

"Because of that young man, 18 lives have vanished."

Ah... that's what he meant, now I understand. Apparently he was mourning the death of his friend. Me? I don't care, I don't know. No wonder he's so depressed.

"Do you think he sinned?" I asked.

"Yes," he growled. "He deserved to die!"

"So, what about you," I said clearly. "Even though you fought together, you were the one who ran away in the end, right?"

"That's..."

I'm not saying the wrong thing here. I know he ran away. After all, I didn't see his corpse even if I pretended to be dead when I was fighting for my life.

However, I don't understand. Why did he run away?

Oops, looks like my words got to him. He got silent, you know ... However, for someone like me, it's not appropriate to say this and that. Although this matter is none of my business.

"I honestly don't care about their lives, I haven't known them long anyway." I paused. My face turned to him. "It's different with you." I patted his back twice.

"Cheer up. We live between darkness and light."

"What does that mean?" asked William. He gave me a strange look.

"Good and bad are in your own perspective."

William tilted his head in confusion. Dude... forget it.

"Just so you know, if I were in your shoes, running away would be what I would do. So it's natural."

After saying that, I stood up. Then, I went back to looking for the boss. I wanted to know where the girl and the young man were. With Amelia...? then their fate was in the wrong hands.
