Chen Mo observed the trembling Jiang Wu, a fleeting thought crossing his mind. "Did I scare him too much? I was even holding back," he mused inwardly, realizing that his impromptu display of power had perhaps been a tad too overwhelming.
A wry smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he contemplated the situation. "I had to come up with a crazy origin story so that the Yuanshi Palace doesn't start sending people after me," he reasoned, remembering the spur-of-the-moment fabrication he had concocted in the heat of their exchange. "But I didn't think it'd scare him this much, even though it was just something I came up with on a whim."
Chen Mo shrugged inwardly, dismissing the concern with a nonchalant wave of his hand. "Oh well, doesn't matter. Him fearing me might actually be a good thing. At least he won't keep sending people to find trouble with me, not that I mind, of course."
