The beautiful middle-aged woman stretched out her delicate hand, and a crystal materialized, reflecting the image of a lush, blue planet. "What's your relationship with this mortal world?" she asked, her voice calm yet carrying an undercurrent of steel.
The man showed his empty palms in a placating gesture. "Whatever do you mean?"
