Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The beginning of the last ending.

As my mundane life starts another morning, I roll out of bed to begin the repetitive day. Once again, nothing has changed. As I start up the laptop to begin the new day of my sales strategy on convincing some old IT guys to buy tech through my company. Such a bore. But the plus side of this job at home is gaming is right around the corner. I feel like a kid again waiting for the bell to go. Every time I get close to a sale or to my lunch break it was gaming time. Apparently using 3 extension leads on a single plug socket was frowned upon but that wasn't in my mindset when I only had a single plug socket in my room. Things were going great till I got a big sale and decided to whack on my favourite game, that was until the laptop, monitor, tv, computer, fan, mini fridge and charger all connected to three extension leads back to a single plug socket must have caused a spark to ignite a fire… But instead an explosion! When I woke up, I suddenly grabbed my face where the explosion was directed to hit me. Nothing was there… only a deep scar over my right eyebrow, this was strange I'm sure I saw the explosion go up? Was I dreaming? As I begin to open my eyes I see a rich and beautiful land, something out of a fairytale, or a screen saver to a laptop. (Trust me I saw enough of them) Long fields with beautiful green grass, filled to the brim with livestock such as sheep, cows, goats and many more. Children running around happy and merchants flawlessly selling they're goods. As I get closer to the town a random lady with cat ears runs past me and accidentally budges into me as she carries on running by. As I'm still new to the area it's probably best not to stand out so I politely nod as she is almost out of sight but waves anyway. Just then two armed men come chasing by as if she had stolen something. My mind could only wonder but it was out of sight out of mind at this point. I continue walking to discover if I'm in a new world, new country, or new dream. The cat ears really threw me off, maybe a dream still? I've seen some mangas like these but they all end up with the main character too nice or too evil, some even just peaceful boring lives. All I know is if I'm dreaming then let's make the most of it. I think back to my days gaming and what the plan of strategy is and as I'm walking by, I see a shop with the words "guild" written out front. I know, I'll apply to be an adventurer and slay monsters, that will get me strong. As I walk in, a group of roughians to the corner, mages in the other, assassins on the balcony, and knights and other stranglers in the middle. As I approach the counter, a lady with bright blue hair smiles and greets me, "Hi my names Aiyesha. Do you have any quests needing to be filled or been filled?" I replied asking for the steps to be an adventurer. She agreed politely with a confused grin, never meeting anyone that didn't know how to become an adventurer. Firstly we need to asses your mana. ( I wasn't aware mana was within all people?) all I have to do is place my hand on a crystal ball, every time I did this back home I'd get some outrageous prediction or something that couldn't be wrong even if you tried. This time the ball starts glowing… first red, then blue, then yellow, then brown, white, black and then gold…? Then it was all over. "That was it?" I thought a symbol or some form of sign would pop up to tell me a number or something? Aiyesha looked absolutely shocked for some reason and dropped to her knees. Confused on the situation I went to the waiting room, maybe there was something g wrong or I need to wait for it to upload? 20 minutes later I received a full report in writing, as it turns out. The colours were indications to different magic I am able to use. For instance; red was for fire, blue for water/ice, yellow for lightning which sounds cool, brown for earth, white for light magic and black for dark. But gold? Never been seen before so there's nothing recorded on it…? I'm not sure how they will all contrast each other but hey, I didn't make up the rules. Now with my mana checked it was time to see my combat level. This would determine what rank I'm put into, from the bottom in E, all the way to the top A. Only few have managed to make it to the top and live to tell the tale apparently, but I wouldn't be settling for second best anyway. So in the test arena… There's a rock… In the middle of a massive arena… With nothing around but water… As I get close, numbers begin to develop above the rock. I think I understand, I need to lift the rock? Nothing happened. Squeeze the rock? Nope. Punch the rock? It split…? Was that meant to happen? Suddenly the numbers begin rolling backwards, adding on more and more numbers, 999, no 1739, no 47'157, 85'000'000… they didn't stop. Unsure I started walking back to the entrance believing the rock was busted? I have no idea what just happened. Turns out I had just set a world record for highest hit to the impenetrable rock, I split the damn thing… I'm not sure if they will all hate me, fear me, love me? God I can't even think about love right now. Is it even the same here? Just as my mind begins to wonder. Aiyesha comes in with my test results. Let's just say when she had walked in, the test result walked in a few seconds later.she began telling me about how great my test score was and that I would be very strong, loads of friends and never worry about money ever again. I asked at what price and she said that I would have the best time and fight for the kingdom which all wish to do, unsure of who I was serving for, what I'm fighting for or even if I know who I'm fighting for. I needed to know whether the royalty in this world are corrupt or have the people in mind. Finally the last test, was a test of basic maths, English and bakery? That's not a usual one but considering the lack of technology here would explain why that is a necessity. I passed with flying colours, apparently they're maths and English skills aren't as developed as my original time so it was realistically basic maths and English and at an 8 year olds level. After passing and receiving my medal to be an adventurer, I asked aiyesha what the best strategy for making money and where to spend a night with a good meal was. She told me about the message board for jobs for adventurers, but also a lot of shops will pay money based on the shops needs and what they sell. For instance if you went to a butcher with a rare kind of meat they don't sell. They won't turn you down just because they don't sell it, depending on the merchant or in this case the butcher, whether they could sell it or make money off it. I thank aiyesha for all her help and she bids me farewell, wishing me luck smiling and waving as I leave. As the sun begins to hit my face from the revealing light slowly creeping up my body, the lady with cat ears suddenly standing in front of me… Wasn't she being chased out of here? (I said to myself) she begins bowing her head and apologising, I said it's fine and carried on walking thinking nothing of it, she then begins to plead how she's not a criminal but she was chasing after one and couldn't slow down to explain. Once again I said it was fine, but realising I'm lonely in this new world and lacking of friends, I decide to be a bit more nicer. I don't come across as the nicest person but I've got a heart of gold and want what's best for everyone. But they have to get past the resting moody face. "Oh by the way what's your name?" I asked. She stops bowing her head and looks me in the eye, my name is Molly, it's nice to meet you. My level is C but I'm hoping to get to B😊. She offers to show me around as I'm new here and trying find a hotel or something, that's not a thing in this world though. It's kind of better though as they rent a cottage for just you, months at a time so you can really get to know the place. After completing a few menial jobs like collecting minerals, water jugs from the river. I even helped a cat out of a burning tree. I'm not sure what the cat was doing but fire near a trees was not a good idea. Successfully handled my first night, kind of made a friend, I've got enough money for a cottage for a week, which was all I could afford but I have enough for a big bit of meat and seeds to start growing vegetables. All I would need to do is earn enough money tomorrow to really settle in. Once all my shopping is done, Molly comes out of nowhere to tell me she has found me the best cottage, close to town but not too close as to get grouped in, open land to grow crops peacefully and enough space that I could live there after I pay for it permanently. Perfect! I've got a place, food in my stomach, my adventurers medal and I'm ready to go! Im really hoping this isn't a dream because im really starting to like it here.
