Chapter 4 - Fighting back for my wife

"This one, please wrap it up for me."

After Michael tried the ring on Olivia, he realized it was just the right size and didn't need to change it, so he cheerfully shouted at the clerk to wrap it up.

This statement directly froze Olivia in her tracks!

"Honey, don't be ridiculous... She was a bit incoherent, "Diamonds aren't worth much. It's still gold worth more, and of course, I'm not asking you to buy me gold. I mean, the ring doesn't quite fit..."

Although Olivia and Michael entered the LuxElegance jewelry store together, this was similar to window shopping for her. She just wanted to look and had not considered buying!

Especially since this store is entirely of high-end goods!

The ring just now was LuxElegance's limited edition for this summer, worth 220,000 dollars!

What does 220,000 dollars mean? It means they can buy a house in a country town!

She couldn't afford to spend that much money on a diamond ring!

"Yes, sir." It wasn't just Olivia who had been dumbfounded. Even the clerk had frozen.

Originally, when she took the ring out for Olivia to try, she didn't think Michael and Olivia could afford it. It was purely out of politeness.

But who knew Michael would be so quick to buy it?

Those rich wives were dressed to look rich and faced with a two-hundred-thousand-dollar diamond ring. They also needed to consider the sex ratio and so on. But this young man before her was also too dashing, right?

As if it wasn't two hundred thousand dollars to him but two hundred dollars!

He's not pretending, is he?

"Wow, isn't this Olivia? Why are you here?"

Before they had time to pay, a coy voice suddenly sounded behind them, deliberately pinched up, giving people some goosebumps.

Once Olivia heard this voice, her body slightly tightened. Somewhat reluctantly, she turned back and greeted the woman across the street, "Emily, it's you. What a coincidence! I came with my husband to look at the rings."

"Looking at rings? Then you're in the wrong place!"

Emily Johnson was holding a middle-aged, greasy man with a big belly. When she heard Olivia say that, she covered her mouth.

She laughed, raising her hand and ruffling the hair around her ears. She unintentionally revealed the large, round pearl studs on her ears and the string of expensive bracelets on her wrists. Then she laughed in a fake sympathetic way.

"I tell you, Olivia, we just graduated a year ago. The employment situation could be better, the salary is generally low. When buying things, you must compare prices. Purchasing the most cost-effective things is the key.

For example, buying a diamond ring, I don't recommend that you come here to buy. The consumption is too high. Going to the other side of Kieler Road is better.

There are a few custom diamond ring stores there. Although the quality is lower than here, the price-performance ratio is quite good. Three thousand dollars can buy a fifty-cent loose diamond with a silver ring holder. Plus, the processing fee will be at most four thousand. It's especially suitable for you."

Although Emily had a tone of "I'm doing you a favor," the teasing inside her eyes clearly said, "You poor bastard don't deserve to come here!"

These words made Olivia even more ashamed of herself. "I... I just came here and have a look..."

"So? Do you think there's a ring for me? My dear insisted on buying me a diamond ring, and I couldn't even say no."

Emily said, glancing at the greasy middle-aged man beside her.

The middle-aged man also straightened his large, round stomach. With a bold and atmospheric face, he said, "Emily, as long as you're happy, you can buy any diamond ring you want!"

"Oops, you don't need to buy too expensive. A fifty or sixty thousand one is about right..."

When Emily said fifty or sixty thousand, a trace of unwillingness flashed inside her eyes.

Although this man is a company executive with an annual salary of five hundred thousand, he is usually stingy when giving her things. This time, buying a diamond ring required her to soften him up for a long time to get the opportunity.

She knew that he would not buy her a diamond ring that was too good. After all, fifty or sixty thousand dollars was too much!

However, a diamond ring of 50,000 to 60,000 dollars is enough for her to show off with her friends!

Of course, it's also enough to make Olivia in front of her greedy!

"I'm sorry, my wife didn't look at that cheap diamond ring, so I can't recommend it to you."

Just as Emily was proudly showing off in front of Olivia, Michael suddenly took her by the shoulders and said to Emily with a leathery smile.

The moment Emily heard this, the smile on her face tightened.

Initially, she wanted to put on a show. Who knew that Michael's words would slap her in the face in minutes?

However, we are all college classmates. Couldn't she know them well?

In Emily's opinion, Michael was just a poor guy who was useless except for his good looks!

It's only been a year since he graduated. What kind of diamond ring can he afford?

Thinking of this, Emily snorted in disdain, "Yo, don't tell me you can afford that diamond ring on Olivia's finger!"

"What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and wrap the ring for me."

But the next second, Emily froze!

Because after Michael over there heard her words, there was no embarrassment or exasperation as she had imagined. Instead, he gently glanced at the store clerk beside him and said this. He also handed over his card.

The clerk also respectfully held the ring and card and left, then quickly handed Michael his card and a delicate paper bag.

[Ding! Congratulations on spending two hundred and twenty thousand dollars for your wife Olivia and receiving a tenfold rebate of two million two hundred thousand dollars! It has been deposited into your account balance. Please check and receive!]

Listening to the system notification tone ringing in his ears, Michael calmly wrapped his arms around Olivia's soft waist and left.

However, when he walked to the door, he also paused and turned back to Emily, who had a stern look on her face and said, "My wife just said that those 50,000 to 60,000 dollar diamond rings are quite ugly in style, so she didn't look at them. But I think there should be some of them that are suitable for you."

What does that mean?

Does it mean that she is only worthy of those ugly rings?

Or was it implying that she was ugly?

Emily was half-exasperated by Michael's words. Her body trembled slightly, and it felt like a layer of foundation had been shaken off her face alive!

But she didn't have much to say to refute it!

"Hubby, you're so good. You made her half-dead with one sentence. Humph, how can I let her always bully me~~"

Walking out of LuxElegance, Olivia couldn't help but laugh suddenly, "Did you see that? She's so angry that the foundation on her face is falling off!"

Although they were all classmates, Olivia had never felt good about Emily. Usually, she didn't provoke her, but Emily always ran to her to show off her love or sneer at her, making Olivia tired of it.

"You're articulate when you're with me. Why are you so polite to others? Luckily, I can fight back for you."

Michael wasn't someone who liked to attack others, but of course, he wouldn't let it go when someone bullied his wife!

Today, he only mocked Emily one time. It could be a more severe punishment. If there were a next time, he would never tolerate it!
