Hera dialed Betty's number while stopped at a traffic light near the office. "Hello, Betty. I'm nearby. Shall we have lunch first, or should we dive right into business?" She added quickly, "Oh, and my friend is with me, tagging along." Hera glanced at Logan, who looked puzzled. Her tone suggested she was merely updating her manager, contradicting her earlier claim that she had already informed Betty.
It was only then that Logan realized he had been played, but he was already in her car. Whether Hera decided to take him to a mountain road or elsewhere, it was too late for him to back out now.
Resigned, Logan could only smile and shake his head, which caused Hera's smile to widen even further.
"Alright, we can meet at my office for a quick meeting, and then we can all go for lunch together. How does that sound to you?" Betty's voice came through the phone, accompanied by the rustling of papers and a faint sound of scribbling in the background.
