After ensuring the consultation went smoothly, Hera breathed a sigh of relief. Zhane then kindly offered to escort her to Leo's room before seeing her home. However, his plans were thwarted as he had already spent a considerable amount of time with Hera that afternoon. Just as he made the offer, an emergency patient arrived, and with all his doctors occupied in surgery, Zhane had no choice but to step in himself.
Hera noticed Zhane's mixed feelings of frustration and annoyance. Although she wasn't sure of the cause, she felt compelled to comfort him. After all, he had just done her a tremendous favor by taking care of her during her IV drip treatment. She wasn't heartless enough to simply take their kindness for granted.
She gently squeezed his arm. "You should go. The surgery will probably take hours. I'll ask Hannah to prepare dinner for you, and I'll have Amy bring it over here." She smiled warmly at him.
