"Who is that Lu Fan? How come I have never heard of him? He got a perfect score in all subjects."
"That… I think he should be in year 3-C, Mr. Wang's class."
"How did he do it? Didn't they say that there will never be a perfect score in essays?"
"…"
That had been the discussion in the entire school on the very first day after the break. The results were already out and it shocked many.
Lu Fan had spent most of the morning answering stupid questions. How else would he get a perfect score other than getting every query correct?
Did he cheat? If he did, that was also his ability. What did have to do with others?
It was a good thing that he was easygoing and patient with his fellow students. He also had quite the experience in dealing with crowds and he was able to sate their curiosity. At least most of it.
One thing though was that he had expected that the teachers would surround him and praise him to high heaven, but nothing like that happened. It even seemed that they were trying to downplay his performance.
This just showed that even the teachers thought that his score was suspect. They did not want to make a big deal out of it and then have their excitement dowsed later on.
The exams were going to take place in a couple of months and it wouldn't be too late to get excited then.
An Xing'er on the other hand spent most of the morning looking at Lu Fan suspiciously. She had never seen him study and even had the impression that he was dumb. Well, that changed in the past few days but impressions don't change overnight.
Lu Fan had even managed to sit next to her claiming that he was bad at studying and needed her help. That was all BS.
While she scored well in the top 50, that was not her actual prowess. She had already mastered the high school curriculum and had done various tests and was confident that she would have scored in the 700s had she tried. But it was impossible to get full marks the way this guy did.
What was even more crashing was the fact that this dude spent most of the time daydreaming. He had not spent more than 15 minutes on any single paper. Now she was curious about just what this monster wrote that even got full marks from those English teachers.
The topic that they had to write on was rather controversial and no teacher would risk giving high marks for it. But this seemingly 'uneducated' guy did it.
"You bastard! Were you secretly studying this whole time? Why you gotta betray a bro like that?"
"Get out of my face. You have rich parents who will leave you an inheritance. I have to work hard and earn a living. Of course, I'll study."
"…" Fatty Tang
"…" An Xing'er
Who was rich here?
Fatty Tang was still ok since he still thought that all Lu Fan had was META, and even then, he had still to grasp META's true situation. An Xing'er on the other hand had seen Lu Fan open a new account and make millions of yuan with an initial investment of 100 yuan.
Xu Ling'er was too stubborn at that time and insisted on using her own money to learn to trade. Lu Fan did not deny her and even patiently guided her to her first million.
An Xing'er was standing there the whole time.
Was making money so easy? An Xing'er was smart enough to know otherwise. It was all Lu Fan. He was the weird one.
Just imagining how much he would have made if he started with a few thousand yuan made her get goosebumps. Even if the amount of capital did not change, how much could he make were he not busy teaching Xu Ling'er?
That was even not the scariest part. The thing that made him a freak was that he could do that and still be as good as he was in Music. His singing still needed improvement, but An Xing'er knew that it was not a disadvantage for Lu Fan.
He was not a vocalist to begin with. His true skill was in music production. The number of songs that they had recorded in five days was not many, but each song was very good and An Xing'er knew that it was just a matter of time before they got the exposure they deserved.
Each song Lu Fan wrote for her was perfect. Just singing these songs made her feel like she found her calling. Listening to them made her doubt that she was the vocalist. It was so good that she wanted to just drop out of school and dedicate herself to making music, but that was impossible.
First, she still had yet to tell her parent what she was doing and they were still waiting for her results. It would be too cruel to drop out months before the exam.
Second, Lu Fan had yet to mention anything about her career in the music industry. Sure, they had made a couple of songs that were doing very well, but that was it. Lu Fan had not even mentioned anything regarding their copyrights and all that.
An Xing'er could honestly not see herself making music with someone else ever. They had formed a sort of chemistry that made the whole process sacred. Just thinking that someone else wrote her lyrics, or even handled the pre and post-production processes made her feel… empty.
It was like the music lost its soul all of a sudden. As for making the music herself? Forget it.
She had tried it and the whole process was tasteless. It stopped being fun and enjoyable and suddenly became work, tedious and boring.
Lu Fan did not know what An Xing'er was thinking, but watching the animated expressions on her face made him feel both funny and worried.
This seemingly boring and nerdy girl had quite an array of facial expressions. He could write a whole script just based on their changes.
