Chapter 34 - CHAPTER 34 – Bad news?

"It's strong," Saeko said as she slashed her hand which was covered in a shade of purple-black layer of something.

"Yeah, and it can get stronger with practice," Haru spoke as he himself looked at his arm which was covered in black color with a golden sheen to it.

They were standing in front of each other in the room and the sword that Saeko had in her hand was taken out from her inventory.

The function of a partner provides them with a system UI, but it also contains the inventory, and this inventory will not be in the same space where Haru keeps his items, every one of his partners will get a separate inventory.

The ability Haru bought is Armament Haki as he thought that it was cheap compared to other stronger ones while it also had the potential to become stronger than the ones with higher prices.

The defense it provided was one thing, but it also made the weapon sturdier and shaper by layering it with it, this alone was enough for anyone to want to buy it, let's not even talk about the strength it provides after making it advanced.

"So? How much did it cost?" Saeko asked after she was done observing this new ability.

"40,000 each," Haru spoke with a smile, and before Saeko could say something he moved forward and kissed her lips real hard.

"Nothing we can't recover by killing 1000's of zombies, right?" Haru spoke after he parted their lips.

"Yes," Saeko spoke with a sweet smile and blushing face that almost made Haru push her down again, but he controlled himself.

"Then let's go and recover some points," Haru spoke and Saeko nodded her head walking with him to meet up with everyone.

Today's plan was to clear more area around them, acquiring more places for people to live along the way and then they would start their search for people that were still hiding or desperately fighting zombies just in the hope that someone would come to save them.

Haru also wanted to complete his promise to Shizuka and Takashi and search for their parents, as Shizuka's mother also lived in Area B close to the place where Takashi's mother's school was.

(Author Note: 'I made this up for my convenience' I am saying this for those people who like to point out the details in every story.)

......................................................….

Takashi, Kohta, and Makoto were leading the new people who had joined them to fight against the zombies.

Among the refugees some wanted to prove their worth in fighting, some chose to be safe and continue the cleaning work, some chose to join Matsudo in his work, and some chose other kinds of professions.

Well, there were three people who didn't choose anything, and their every move was being observed by Akira.

The girls from Haru's team formed two teams, with Saya, Rei, Shizuka, and Kazuki in one team while the other consisted of Saeko, Yuriko, and Miku.

Miku would try to tease Saeko at every moment while she also talked with her about many other important topics related to Haru and sometimes Yuriko would also be included in their chats, which the mature women didn't have a problem with.

The Right-wing members were also not in groups of 6-7 people this time as they were moving in groups of two.

Some of the members of the right wing were sent to scout the area and check if there were any survivors, while some were left to protect the base in case something unexpected happened.

Haru had decided to fight alone this time as it would be faster and he also didn't need to steal the stats of F-ranked zombies, while he needed more than 500 E-rank zombies to get his stats to B+, so, he decided to work faster.

Right now, Haru was sitting on a pile of zombies while killing the incoming zombies with an array of amalgamated elemental abilities with a single hand.

He didn't need to move towards the zombie as his skills caused enough damage and noise to attract even attack zombies from the surrounding areas.

This resulted in him getting an earful from Saya as the one closest to him was her team and because of him attracting the zombies they were unable to fight seriously.

"Boss, you would want to hear this," Suddenly Makoto's voice was heard from Haru's walkie-talkie causing him to raise a brow listening to the grave tone that Makoto had.

"What's wrong?" Haru asked while he was trying to do something new with his abilities.

"You should talk with Shoji," Makoto said and passed the walkie-talkie to Shoji who was a member of the right wing that went scouting in the South-west.

"Shoji, what's wrong?" Haru asked when he heard Shoji breathing heavily, by now, this topic had his full attention since he felt something was seriously wrong or else they would not have reacted like this.

"B-boss, a wave of zombies is coming our way," Shoji said in a low voice as if afraid that it might be heard by the new recruits.

"How many are there?" Haru asked as he also started running towards Makoto and the group's position.

"I-I couldn't c-count," Shoji said and from his voice, anyone could tell that he was scared, after all, he was the youngest among the right-wing members with the same age as Haru.

"What's your guess?" Haru asked again as he increased his speed of moving.

"I don't know, but there were many," Shoji spoke, slowly calming down.

"Give me a number," Haru pressed harder as he wanted to know a number even if it was just an approximation.

Haru wanted a number so that he could rate the level of danger the incoming wave had.
