"Fuck!" The commander screamed in fury as he stared at the blackened spot where the laser tank stood before. Nothing now but a mountain of dust that was quickly scattered away by the wind.
"Arggh!" He screamed and turned towards his saviour to ask the questions that had begun to trouble his mind. But there was no one there, the man was gone.
"Arghh!" He screamed in agony and frustration alongside the screms of his soldiers affected.
Cronos was running towards the Pruitian first defense line as his senses blared after that weapon was fired. Such weapon wasn't mentioned during the briefing and the moment it launched, his guts told him if he didn't leave, he would end up using one of his lives. He wasn't a cat with the privilege of nine lives.
He could see the Pruitians with a wide smile, jubilating in a language only known to them, as the humans quickly retreated back, losing grounds earlier gained as the news of their laser tank been disintegrated into dust spread like wild fire. But as they were running back, retreating to their safe haven to regroup, there was a sole human going against the wave of bodies running away.
His movement was almost like a blur as he ran past them, effectively avoiding their bodies as a collision wouldn't mean well for the unlucky one.
"Captain! You saw that ?" Caramel spoke into the private mic, a connection for the Death Squad team.
"Yes."
"What next ?"
"To take it down."
"What ?"
Caramel stared at her other teammates as they also heard him loud and clear.
"I thought they were joking when they said he was crazy." Jason commented with a wryly smile as Micheal scratched his head in frustration.
"This is beyond my pay grade. I mean look, they turned fo dust. Just one shot and they turned to dust. We didn't even see the one shot!" He screamed in agony, as he rubbed his dusty face, squeezing his nose in frustration.
Caramel turned to Shin who moved his head towards the incoming soldiers retreating, with the Pruitians on their ass.
"We have got company"
The four teammates turned and stared at the incoming enemies.
"This cowards! " Micheal scoffed with disgust as he spit on the floor.
Shin and Jason stared at him with a raised eyebrow, just one word running through their mind. 'What a hypocrite!.'
Seeing a green light from Caramel they launched an attack on the incoming enemy, the moment the last allie crossed a line they had drawn that only they could see.
Cronos had allowed the Pruitians to run chase after the retreating humans, and he only cut down those that took an interest in him. They weren't his target. He had a bigger fish to fry. He kept on running as he passed hundreds of Pruitians charging towards the humans defensive lines.
The more he ran forward, he was expecting to see a huge tank or a battle machine, or something so preposterous that would make him stop and think about his next decisions. But there was nothing like that as he got closer to their last line of defense and what he saw was straight out of a comic book.
Right in front of him was a large chair, more like a throne as it was well elevated with steps leading up to the throne. Down from the last button step to the first uppermost step, had at least one Pruitian on it. They formed a line, a long queue from the ground, right up to the chair as right on the throne was a huge quantity of dust. Right above the throne was a big helmet sort of thing, with electric cackling and blue energy swirling around it. He watched with high curiosity as a Pruitian walked up to the throne and sat down on the dust slowly. Considering the body height and size it looked like a younger version of the ones that he had killed. These ones were at most 6ft, some at 5ft and no more.
'Were they children?' He thought to himself as the older Pruitian behind the child who stood at a massive height of 9ff lifted the mettalic helmet and placed in over the younger Pruitian head. The young lad closed his eyes as the skies rumbled and with a box lightining flash, he heard that sound again, but he saw nothing. He could feel what ever was just realised head into the battle in a straight line, obliterating everything in its path into total dust. He watched in suprise as the young lad turned into dust right after the massacre, as the next one stepped into line settling down on the throne of death.
"What the fuck?"
He stared, as his senses went off. He turned to see everyone was staring at him, including the young Pruitian seated on the throne of death. She had her sight on him.
"Shit." He heard the sound again as he took to his heels.
He glanced at the spot he was before, a deep crater formed in the ground.
The 9ft Pruitian who stood behind the throne glared at Cronos with shock and rage.
"The humans can't hear at this frequency, how come he knew?" The Pruitian yelled in a language that Cronos couldn't understand but assumed it was him expressing his fury after missing the target. The girl on the chair now turned into dust as her remains were quickly carried away by the wind.
The Pruitian face morphed into a shocking realization as Cronos knew what that look was all about.
The Pruitian must have heard of the Bionic humans, but he hadn't been fortunate enough to meet one. Well today must be his day. But he's simply just unfortunate to have met me.
The Pruitian screamed at Cronos, a finger pointing at him as the other Pruitians around descended on him, and the next King or Queen ready to ascend the throne in what looked like a sacrificial death.
