"Get in."
Abel, who had instinctively begun pushing Hilsa in the opposite direction, froze.
"What the hell, Jason?"
He spun around to see the smiling face of his friend and band member.
"Yeah... yeah, I missed you too," Jason said jokingly.
Abel breathed out a sigh; he had been prepared to fight to the last minute, even though he knew they would likely have been captured.
Now, he said a silent thank-you prayer to whatever deity had been watching out for them.
He however found himself feeling beyond dumb.
Why had he failed to recognize Jason's car? After all, they'd used it as their gig vehicle for quite some time, so the sight of it should have been familiar.
He decided he was being unfair to himself, though. With the kind of caution and tension he'd been under, he'd played his best; besides, he hadn't looked at the plate. Doing that would have been a clear sign of suspicion.
Hilsa, too, let out a sigh.
