Both Ben and Hilsa, who had been watching from the window, burst out of the door, running toward Abel and the lady.
Abel, however, had already lifted her into his arms and was heading to the house.
They met halfway.
Ben took only one look at the woman's face before recoiling.
"I knew I wasn't mad... it's her... what the fuck, Abe... thought your mom was de... dead."
Abe did not bother answering his friend's questions; those were the same answers he himself was searching for, and the only one who could answer them was out cold.
Ben broke out of his confusion and pushed the door open.
Abel rushed into the living room and laid her on the couch.
"The hell is happening, bro... what's wrong with her?" Ben rattled on.
"Get me some water," Abel cut off his friend's endless questions.
He had even forgotten that this was his damn house, and thus he was the one perfectly suited to fetch water as he knew the place well.
