"What nonsense is this? Are you saying that El Fuego asked you to betray your family?"
Jason stared at his uncle Dominic for a while.
Honestly, he had never hated the man despite knowing that his loyalty was never with his dad. But now he felt a deep loathing begin to build inside him.
He was about to retort back but thought against it.
This was like when the opponent fooled you with the chance to capture his rook, and you rushed to claim the piece only to realize you gave away your queen.
He could afford to mess with Sofia as she was a puppet, but this man was the one pulling the strings; he had to tread with care.
That, however, did not mean he should display fear.
"Don't put words in my mouth, uncle," Jason countered. "I said I was away on family business at my father's orders."
