Hilsa walked between the two boys, her head lowered as she avoided eye contact.
They had merged with the bustling crowd, blending into the rhythm of L.A.'s nightlife. Jason's plan was simple but sharp, as he explained it to Abel while they made their way down the store corridors.
"The card might be traceable, but that doesn't mean we can't use it to our advantage," Jason said quietly, his eyes constantly scanning the people around them. "The trick is to avoid drawing attention and spread out the transactions."
"We can use the card to buy several prepaid cards," he continued. "Different stores, different amounts. That way, if they trace any of the cards, it'll lead them in circles."
Abel listened, surprised by the suggestion. He hadn't known about prepaid cards—his experience with credit cards was limited to his mom's, which always worked without question.
But even he could see the brilliance in Jason's plan.
