Jason followed the woman down the corridor, his thoughts racing as he tried to make sense of what was happening.
Why would Abel be locked in a doctor's office? And what did a doctor have to do with all of this?
He glanced around; the place resembled some kind of research facility, with its clinical design and sterile atmosphere. The mention of doctors only added to the mystery.
Was it a medical facility? That didn't seem right either.
"It's over there," the woman said, breaking through his thoughts.
Jason's eyes followed her gesture to a large, transparent glass door at the far end of the corridor.
There was no knob in sight, just a small green light blinking in one corner.
The area looked more like a waiting room than an office; there were cushioned sofas and a TV inside, but no sign of Abel. He'd have to get through the thick wooden door on the other side of the room.
