Abel picked out the AirPods from the case and threw them into his ears. With that, he took a deep breath and slowly walked out of his bedroom.
He didn't have to worry about disturbing Jason; he could see the door to his room was shut, and having seen just how fatigued the guy looked during their return drive from the interview, he knew Jason was dead asleep.
As for him,well....tired as he was, sleep had still completely eluded him. Even such a pressing necessity paled compared to the pressure he felt.
So now they had a band in place… well, that was supposed to be one hurdle down.
Except it wasn't.
These people were still complete strangers, strangers whom they were now letting into their quite complicated lives.
