Dr. Rotten was pacing around his office with a furrowed brow.
The girl had lied blatantly to his face, and she hadn't even blinked. If he had not seen the message she deleted, he might have just taken her word for it.
Even now, despite the proof he had before him, he still wanted to believe the sudden deviation was explainable… maybe he could attribute it to something that was easy to fix.
Deep down, however, Dr. Rotten had always known that such a possibility existed.
Despite the fact that she had proven to be his first successful subject, she was still in the category he considered hard to fully control. The only thing that had made her an ideal candidate was her emotional detachment.
