Abel glanced at Jason, who gave a slight nod.
It was clear that they were both thinking the same thing: if Chris wanted to prove himself, they'd let him, but they wouldn't make it easy.
They'd put him through all the complex tests for a rock drummer, just like any other candidate. If he truly was as good as he claimed, then he'd have to show it.
"Alright, Chris," Abel said, trying to sound as impartial as possible. "Let's get straight into it. We've prepared a few exercises that cover everything from rudiments to complex time signatures. We'll also have you play along with some tracks to see how you handle different tempos and styles. Sound good?"
"Sounds perfect," Chris replied, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
It was the kind of confidence Abel could respect, even if he wasn't sure it was justified.
